Mrs. Lepore was born on July 19, 1933 to Lowell and Helen Crosby Kelly. Educated in music, she became known as the world’s greatest female drummer and performed under the professional name of “Kitty Kelly and Her Escorts.” She toured the United States for 20 years establishing a wonderful name. In 1957, she appeared on the TV show What’s My Line and in 1960 was a Miss Miami finalist. In 1963, she was Air Show Queen in St. Petersburg. She retired to Trenton after 31 years in Miami. While in Miami she also worked in real estate. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lepore. Kitty will be missed by her family from Nevada, California, Oregon and friends in Florida and Maryland.
I was going to Google her before I read this. No doubt she was a hottie when she played. I wanted to write a comment hoping she would get a chance to read it. Thanks for posting and sharing. You rocked Flo RIP
I love these seniors who still KILL on their instruments. I was in my local Guitar Center a few months ago and saw this man, probably in is late 70's/early 80's with his grandson and they were buying a guitar for the grandson. This guy plugs a Gibson 335 into a Fender Twin and just rips off this incredible string of notes and these awesome jazz chords. Then he went into some blues riffs that were worthy of BB King. And he did it without effort, like it was second nature. I was floored.
