They will inevitably remake it. They won’t understand why it won’t preform similarly to the originals…😕 Hint; the car… they won’t keep it the same.. it’ll be a car commercial for one of the big automakers upcoming offerings
it'll be once the bobs are dead, so knock on wood they live for another 30+ years. I wholly believe they do have a clause in their contracts that a remake can't be made w/o their approval or without their consent
I hope they cast James Corden as Doc, Justin Bieber as Marty, and have Nickelback cover all the music. The Internet will hate the remake regardless, so they might as well just lean into it and try to make it the most meme hated thing ever!
Well, the first was a completely new concept. So by the time 2 comes around, you know what to expect. The only surprise is what time twist they come up with.
I hear what you're saying, but I would say it should have been Part 1 vs Part 2 vs Part 3. It's a near perfect trilogy, and rating two parts against each other without taking the third into consideration doesn't seem right to me.
In my opinion, Back To The Future is the most consistent movie trilogy, at least in terms of quality, which is ironic because it breaks the key rule of a trilogy of essentially doing the same story 3 times, yet it works given the motif of history repeating itself. Look at all of the elements that appeared in all 3 films: Marty saying "This is heavy" and Doc Brown saying "Great Scott," Marty hitting his head and waking up with a version of his mother taking care of him, Marty walking into a diner and encountering a Tannen as well as a Strickland, a chase scene in the town square and Marty almost crashing into a vehicle, a Tannen crashing into manure, a scene where a character wears a bullet proof vest, pictures/documents changing, Marty being called "chicken," and of course the entire clock tower scene all appear in each film.
It's hard to believe that it's been 7 years since this "future" date. That said, its amazing how many things Back To The Future 2 actually did get right about life in 2015; drones, hoverboards, entirely CGI films, pointless sequels, 80s nostalgia, smart phones, fingerprint identification, flat screen tvs, watching multiple channels on 1 tv at once, face time calling, robot servers at restaurants, self tieing shows (though they only exist because of this film), A.I. in machines, and The Chicago Cubs winning The World Series (although, they were 1 year off with that 1).
But they havent yet built flying cars. Amd the resturants still serves with hands. Not robots (most of them). And there isnt any super realistic 3d hologram that comes out of screen on thee streets
What restaurants have got robot servers? Where’s the hoverboards? Drones weren’t in back to the future either and I’ve yet to see anyone watching multiple channels at once on one TV
I absolutely love part 2. Objectively part 1 may be a perfect film. But I'm a sucker for a look into the future so I loved part 2 more overall. Also loved how they recreated part 1 from different angles. The one comparison video someone made years ago with the scenes side by side showed how meticulous they were with remaking the scenes.
This was great, thank you. Recently went to The Back to The Future Musical, it was fantastic. Solid gold. Back to the Future is my favorite out of the Trilogy. Doc's confusion about the Under the Sea dance makes my belly laugh everytime I watch it. The whole Trilogy is brilliant, good memories watching them and pure entertainment. I love these films.
I had never heard "Make like a tree and leave". In french "fait dans l'artilleries et tire toi" = "Make like artillery and shoot (=get out) yourself". A good adaptation of the word play.
It's a crime that this movie hasn't reached Star Wars levels in regards to stories/ films set in the same universe but then again probably a good thing too
With part 2 you also get back to part 1 . (both 1 & 2)😉 Part 2 is my favorite because I got to watch them film the shotgun porch scene with Strickland, so when I watch that scene, I can imagine my much younger self there watching in awe. (the next best thing to time travel).
8:39 I absolutely love Part 2 as the majority of the main cast Michael J Fox and Thomas F Wilson (more than others) get to play multiple characters and sometimes in the same scene and these were done in camera as they didn’t have CGI back then. Also I love how they look at the first movie from different angles, by recreating those scenes and adding another layer to the story. Part 2 was derided as being confusing in 1989 with various timelines but now has been reappraised for the classic that it is. Now that’s “heavy.”
Yesss! Part II is an amazing sequel...so dense and layered with the meta humor and the different versions of Marty, Biff, the family etc. Plus it's darker too with the Alternate 1985 as well. The climax in 1955 with Marty trying to not run into Other Marty from Part I while trying to get the Almanac back from Biff is so amazingly well done, it's ridiculous.
What I give to part II is having, I'd say probably, my favorite "hero calls" of all time; I will explain: During the final scene(s) of BTTF II, after Marty sees the DeLorean get struck by lightning and disappear, then is subsequently met by the Wester Union clerk with the longtime past dated letter from ELB, which explains when the Doc is. Upon reading the letter, Marty becomes extremely relieved and excited. This excitement prompts the W.U. clerk to ask of Marty: "Do you need some help?" to which Marty replies (in a beautiful close-up,) "There's only ONE man who can help me..." ....And then the electrifying (snark) scene cut to "Doc" Emmett Brown on top of the clock tower during his efforts to send part I's Marty McFly... *Back* *To* *The* *Future* !!! I get goosebumps every time that part comes up during a watching, (& even a bit while describing the scene here.) 😉😁
Amazing Movies! The only thing i don't like about BTTF2 is the ad for BTTF3 at the end. Would have just been better to end on the cliffhanger and leave it there.
Part one is plausible, if time travel were possible, you could go back in time to see your parents or even your younger self, but if you traveled from 1985 to 2015 you would not see your future selves as you disappeared in 1985, therefore you weren't around to age. You would see a future without you in it. The movie "Time Cop" also brings up the point that you can't travel to the future at all, because it hasn't happened yet. Having said that, I will say that I enjoyed the second film, after I suspended my disbelief.
*You can't give the sequel the win. It's a sequel, and ESPECIALLY in a time-travel movie a large percentage was them merging the movies in 1955. They're both great, but because of the over-reliance on sight-gag comedy, the ORIGINAL (especially for the script. HUGELY ORIGINAL) wins, hands-down.*
Will still watch the vid, but 1 wins. Every time. It's the superior film in every way. No line of dialogue is wasted with everything introduced having a payoff. It's brilliant.
There are classic movies that remain favorites because of memories. But, when a classic is remade, it always runs the risk of destroying the memory. Back to the future got remarkably luck being able to survive three sequels. I pray Hollywood doesn't push the luck too far and attempt either another sequel or a remake.
I love this trilogy and probably one of the very few that would love to see a remake done. Though it's too late to have him/her go to the 80's they can go to the 90's. Michael J Fox recently said he wants one too with a female in the role. As much as I love Part 2, aside from the set up for Part 3, the film is pretty pointless. Why go to the future if it's not set yet. Doc could've just told Marty that in 2015 his kid would get in trouble and he could've then been mindful of that fact. I can look past it but it's a glaring plot hole that even the writer acknowledged. Hell the original idea was to go to the 70's before Marty was born but they had to scrap it when Crispin Glover said no to returning
Think I have to agree with the verdict here. Definitely a tough call. I actually feel guilty that for me, the 2nd movie barely edges out the 1st overall. The only way I can reconcile both of them being better than the other , is to differentiate them by over all feel. There's something so wholesome about the 1st movie (ignore that woman over there trying to make out with her son for the moment) , it just pulls me in. The 2nd one I look at as more of an action flick.
It never made sense to me that Marty in part 2 would take offense to being called chicken. Marty had confidence in part 1. He would’ve shrugged that off and made Biff looked stupid.
I was 15 years old when Back to the Future II came out and I was totally sold by into thinking hoverboards were real. I'd just got into skateboarding and thought they'd be on the market in a few years. 😁
I was born in 84 in communistic country and was watching all trilogy on VHS since 90-95 plus All Bundy almost all the times and this gave me picture of USA as grate country!! Ehh where all this gone??? Nostalgy is a killer!!!!!!
Crazy part is there was no plan for a part 2, until the studio received a lot of fan mail asking for the sequel. I think the real winner has to be part 1, but part 2 is my favorite
lol yeah. and the bobs regret ending part 1 like they did, cause they had written themselves in a corner. But I liked how they ultimately spun it for Part 2. I do wonder how'd it be if Crispen haven't had left...would they still have killed him off?
I feel the same way about the first two Back to the Future films how I feel about the first two Godfather films. Both first films are classics that introduced you to the story and the characters in the film. But I feel like the sequels added more depth to the characters and took you deeper into the story and added more complexity to the events in the sequel where the first two seem a little more straight forward. All great films but I favor the sequels to both films slightly more than the originals.
also Marty/Doc shouldn't exist in that time line as friends....if Doc was put in the asylum and Marty in boarding school, they never meet, and I doubt he ever builds or gets the chance to build the delorean.
As much as i love the BTTF trilogy, the whole Marty traveling 30 years into the future with Doc Brown always bothered me. Like, if you travel 30 years into the future, doesn't that mean you have been missing for 30 years?
No, as long you survive your adventures in the future, you simply travel back to your original departure point later. If your past self dies in the future then yeah, you've some paradox issues
I’m 23, I’ve been watching the first one for the past 20 years. Found 2 and 3 on HBO about 3 years later, so the sequels I watched later on like those in the 80s did. Overall, 1 is PERFECT, I can’t say a bad word about it. Part 2 just amped it up, it’s the ONLY movie where the time machine concept and time travel are fully normal and operational, plus 2 is just EPIC! I’d put Part 2 with T2 in terms of sequel quality, it’s SO close to the original in terms of quality in my eyes, plus the 2015 from that movie was better than the one I got to live through 🤣🤣💯
The original is still a better movie, much tighter story. I adore both, the original is my favourite of all time. The second is mesmerising in many ways and even more ambitious but its flaws standout a lot more including satirising catch phrases and personality traits, they end up coming off tonely cheesy rather than having serious consequences. I rewatched the third recently, it seems to be the red headed step child of the family, but you know what I enjoyed it as much as the second one. Never thought I'd say that, but it's aged extremely well. I dare say it has better pacing than the second. The original though will forever be the ultimate masterpiece for me.
Even though BTTF 2 doesn't have the heart that BTTF had, it does have a labyrinthine script that was enjoyably complicated and fun. That's a lot more than I can say about Part 3 which tells the first story all over again minus the laughs, style, wit and warmth of the 1st film. I probably would have enjoyed it more if Fox & Thompson didn't play Marty's great grandparents. I know that's the comedy, but not only was it not funny, it was cloying and distracting.
The original is a perfect film and really should have been left to exist on its own. Traveling into the future to prevent an event is the most nonsensical plot device ever constructed.
You guys need to have your heads examined! What the Hell kind of question is this?? The trilogy is a classic as a whole but if anyone says Part 2 is better than Part 1 they need to have their head examined! More interesting debate would be between 2 and 3.
With a trilogy you can do three rounds. Part 1 versus part 2 which you already done. All you got to do now is part 2 versus part 3. Then part 3 versus part 1. That's all you can do. Movie should not tackle themselves. Also part 2 versus part one is the same as one verses two three versus two is the same as two versus three. One versus three is the same as 3 versus 1. You just got to do back to the Future part 2 versus back to the Future part 3 then you got to do back to the Future part 3 versus back to the Future part 1 and make a trilogy out of your own RUclips channel. I'm interested to see your thoughts on part 3 compared to part two and part one.
I prefer the first film. While Part 2 is an enjoyable movie, it retreads too much of the original to stand out. While I does expand on things and show some enjoyable visuals, it's built on a retelling of the original's story, and I feel like that weakens any sequel that does this.
@@Geronimo_Jehoshaphat Bob Gale said it best... "Biff uses the profits from his 27-story casino... to help shake up the Republican Party, before eventually assuming political power himself, helping transform Hill Valley, California, into a lawless, dystopian wasteland, where hooliganism reigns, dissent is quashed, and wherein Biff encourages every citizen to call him 'America's greatest living folk hero.'"
Hey the second one is my personal favourite too. I love the genius concept that it presents of looking at the first movie within the second movie. Also it very wisely avoids looking at the future too much as that came about with the studio wanting to make a sequel as the first movie was incredibly successful. The ending of the original was put in as a injoke as they never intended to do a sequel so had to start the 2nd film of this way. But the rest of the film is fantastically structured. It was derided as confusing at the time but now is seen as the great movie it is. For me the third part is slightly weaker but no less enjoyable so I would rank the same way Part 2 10/10 Part 1 10/10 and Part 3 knocking off one star 9/10.
@@asifkhan4822 i appreciated that they didn't make 2015 dystopian. outside say...Star Trek, sci-fi generally makes the future dystopian...instead we got a 2015 that's "realistically" shown...it's still Hill Valley, but just in the future. Then they flipped the dystopian trope into the present w/ 1985a/Biff.
The only problem I had with the sequel is not all of the original actors came back which is a bummer especially chrispin Glover but he changed things as he sued the producers because they allowed to have another actor replaced him by using his make up and the other things that would make the actor look like chrispin now apparently you can't do that without permission from the original actor or his or hers families like Disney did the new star wars sequels i.e. princess Leia was replaced with another actress and CGI and as well as Governor Talkin (sorry if I missed spelled) I'm disabled a stroke and cardiac arrest and colon cancer survivor and use a electrical wheelchair when I'm outside of my apartment building here in Hamilton Ontario Canada :) be safe everyone and Merry Christmas
They will inevitably remake it. They won’t understand why it won’t preform similarly to the originals…😕

Hey, I like to think Peter Jackson got inspiration from these movies to make the best trilogy ever. He also made the hobbit
I hope they cast James Corden as Doc, Justin Bieber as Marty, and have Nickelback cover all the music. The Internet will hate the remake regardless, so they might as well just lean into it and try to make it the most meme hated thing ever!
The cast will be played by all females too.
@@kylelewis9163 how does back to future lead to the lord of the rings exactly?
This should really be a debate on either Part II or III. Neither are as good as the first but are both favored for their own specific take.
Well, the first was a completely new concept. So by the time 2 comes around, you know what to expect. The only surprise is what time twist they come up with.
Honestly 2 and 3 are just one movie with a break in between
@@taylordunekacke5784 I kinda like number 2. Number 3 though seemed very half assed. Like they didn't really bother putting any effort into the script
I hear what you're saying, but I would say it should have been Part 1 vs Part 2 vs Part 3.
It's a near perfect trilogy, and rating two parts against each other without taking the third into consideration doesn't seem right to me.

I saw part 2 in theaters at six times back in '89. Still think it's one of the best and most unique sequels made.

I loved how key scenes were redone in each movie. They utilized the rule of three well.
Matrix and pirates series stolen idea to shoot 2-3 back to back
Marty was not called a chicken in the first movie.
Re-watched this recently. Was really refreshing to watch a popcorn movie that doesn't end with a giant CG monster fight.

The climax in 1955 with Marty trying to not run into Other Marty from Part I while trying to get the Almanac back from Biff is so amazingly well done, it's ridiculous.

You guys need to have your heads examined! What the Hell kind of question is this?? The trilogy is a classic as a whole but if anyone says Part 2 is better than Part 1 they need to have their head examined! More interesting debate would be between 2 and 3.
comparing the best 2 films ever made
Love the second . But you can’t have 1 with out the other. It’s like blade 2 for me . I’ll watch them before I watch the first lol
Why would you do this? Along with Part III and the Telltale game, you get an awesome overarching story.
TBH I prefer the sequel 👍🤩
I prefer the first film. While Part 2 is an enjoyable movie, it retreads too much of the original to stand out. While I does expand on things and show some enjoyable visuals, it's built on a retelling of the original's story, and I feel like that weakens any sequel that does this.
3rd movie wasn't the best from the franchise, however all 3 are great
Part 2 had my favourite lines:
"MACFRY!!!!"
and
"You need POWAH!!!!"
I love back to the future 2 but for me have to go with the original
Well, in part 2, it is weird seeing Marty's hand giving him problems when he tries to play the guitar and knowing his health problems today.
I strongly disagree
what movie do you enjoy watching more?..... Part 1?.....we have our winner.
Well, at the time I thought part 2 was superior, however obviously it's aged less gracefully.
I dunno, evil Biff and his version of Hill Valley ended up aging like fine wine.

How so? Because of the pandemic of TDS? 😆

Bob Gale said some revisionist history about Crispin Glover too.
I read the entire article on trump/biff and saw a follow up question in another. all they said was they used his resemblance. nothing else.
No way... I love the trilogy as a whole, but the original is the best movie.
Back to the future cartoon series reboot by Stevens Universe animation
Loved the first one
Strange face/off
How’s life?~suuper !see you later.
Still waiting for self tying Nikes? Nope we have them few models in fact and have for yeaaaars
👍👍👍🎥
The first is an all time classic. 2 & 3 are just lame cash grabs. The whole "Don't call me chicken" add-on is contrived and just lazy writing.
Part 2 shouldn't exist
They just came back to Part 1
Not wanting to think too extensively about it (for obvious reasons). A present remake would probably involve a genderswap. 🤢
I love both and probably watch the 1st more but I'm 1 that actually likes 2 more I love that movie now the 3rd I hate
.. just a thought in the original script for back one Marty meets doc because doc needed someone to bootleg videos for him
My favorite is the second one 1 is a 10/10 2 is a 10/10 3 is a 9/10
Hey the second one is my personal favourite too.
Loved the triogy
2015 is in the past.
Jesus FUCK!!!
2 was better
Part two sucks part three is fun
2>3
