Ms Farmiga's conceptualization of Norma Bates is brilliantly realized. She gives depth to a character that easily could have been one-dimensional and predictable. Farmiga richly deserves an Emmy Award for her role in Bates Motel.
I come often to see this scene cause life is indeed a cesspool and you try to swim out of it but you never get to the top. Poor Norma. Poor me. (I should specify that I feel for THAT Norma Bates, not the one of the Hitchcock movie).
Can we talk about the first lady who wanted to prevent students from reading « crime and punishment » please? I completely disagree with her solution. What makes mostly a monster from human beings is not a book, it’s the way the person is educated. If those students can simply read one of their ancestors’ classics with a critical point of view instead of being impregnated by its story because they identify themselves, I think we could create more intellectual people instead of murderers

She's the best actress I've ever seen.
Completely love this scene Vera Farmiga is a wonderful actress
I can't think of anyone else who would portray Norma because Vera Farmiga does it like it's real! She really can make sadness and anger equal crazy!
I smell another Emmy nomination in Miss Farmiga's future!
And what a rip-off snub that she didn't get a nomination for Season 2. The yearly "changing tastes" of the Emmys is really annoying.
Roman Seano I know! I was SO disappointed (and surprised) that she didn't get nominated again.
Well, Norma ain't wrong...
Is anyone else's favourite character Norma?
3 years late but me
Mee
This scene is iconic
Vera farmiga is amazing!! Enough said!!
Best Norma scene yet!
"Who are you?" The hottest lady in White Pine Bay
