Just wondering, why don't you grow your Reishi on wood logs, which according to research will result in the highest quality Reishi ?
you wouldn't get enough yield from wood logs alone to make it worthwhile economically
The substrate mixture in those bags is likely a mixture of hardwood sawdust/chips and a more nutrient dense additive like oat bran or something similar.
essentially you are grinding up the mushroom's natural food source (wood) into a highly available form and then also adding in an exceptionally nutritious food source that would not naturally be present.
This creates a perfect food source for mushroom mycelium, and also for other competing organisms. For this reason, enriched substrates must be sterilized before the mushroom mycelium/spores are introduced. This eliminates all other organisms from the substrate and gives rise to a culture of 100% mushroom mycelium.
The amount of nutrient's/calories you put into a substrate directly correlates to the yield of mushrooms the resulting mycelium will be able to produce. Using enriched substrate, and carefully controlling the fruiting room environment to favor the growth of mushrooms is essential to getting the kind of yield you would need to make this into a business
@@ericlegatski3393 I hear you buy it looks like he's getting a very low yield anyway 1/2/3 mushrooms per bag and they are tiny and not very bright looking maybe just the lighting but it would serve him well to start to slowly introduce log grown ones just a hardwood log same size as those bags no doubt

It can be hard to make clean prints. It may actually be cheaper in the long run to buy a reshi spore syringe and make some liquid cultures.
Hello Paul Stamets. i use to have skin infections.. Without good deed appartently.. i have no soa or such thing. But could mushrooms help with my skin problems? its always irritating, each day, non-stop, i use baby talk to help... but its not helping really, it does heko, but i wornder if mushroom would help better? !!!! How much should you consume in powder form? I read that it can be toxic to the liver if you consume it for more than one month. I ordered some Reishi powder and 3 other powders from Fungi Perfecti.
