Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This RUclips channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

Sausage roll can’t have been that bad, fuelled you up to play some impressive golf!
He was probably mad about the quality and played better shots because of his mind being elsewhere. There's some truth to this...my best round was with a complete newbie who had me rolling with their anger at the game/clubs, which took my mind off playing badly.
I’ve noticed that too my best round ever I had to take a shit the entire back nine went bogey free ended up shooting 68 such a crazy game
Green and gold I had a gingsters sausage roll then hit a hole in one on par 3 last week. I’ve had 6 sausage rolls since n bogeyed
My 18yr old who just started playing the game watches this channel and turned me on to it.
I thought he’d been playing his Xbox hours on end but he’s binge watching Rick. He’s learned a lot and more than anything he’s learning to be humble and not taking himself too seriously - from one of the best. It is just a game still. Thank you Rick !

This is whats great about golf, RIcks been playing all his life, and look how happy this man is on a good day of golf. thats the true spirit of this game, even when youre really good, its still very hard, and doing good is so rewarding

This is the BEST I've seen you put in a long, long time. Maybe the softer feel isn't what you need?
I agree. I feel it makes him think about his ball strikes so it doesn’t roll 5+feet past like with his regular putter. I’ve seen this drill where you put a series of tees in the green and try to hit consecutive zones with putts. I’ve heard that it works. 😝

I've recently started playing golf again after not picking a club up for 15+ years. I've started having lessons and along with watching your video's my game is improving all the time. I really enjoy your video's and look forward to the next one.

Awesome vid Rick! I once heard Tiger say, "What's the worst I can make if I just punch out?" The head prevailed and think you made the right choices in those situations but the putt on 16 was just dirty! Can't wait to see the Rick and Pete show again!!! Thanks for that teaser!
NOT MANY great golfers grabs a completely (for them) new set of clubs and goes out and shoots +1. NOT MANY youtubers goes out and glorifies the fact of not needing the brand new equipment (manufactured by the ones funding their RUclips-generated revenue) the suppliers are providing. NOT MANY people on an (almost) public screen comes across so genuinly down to earth, respectfull (perhaps except for the sausages at the halfway house) and committed to convey a completely unbiased piece of entertainment. Impressive!! Hats off!!
I like watching Rick golf more than I actually like playing golf.

Gutted for all those near-missed putts!! But… REMINDER: Those are GREAT PUTTS! It’s all about odds/percentages and leaving it close if you miss. You played an incredible round and kept your head the whole time despite some minor errors. Smart recoveries lead to excellent results!
Played 9 holes yesterday for the first time in years on a course I'd never played and managed 4 over with 2 doubles. I was chuffed

Rick's worst day would 'leak liquid' all over my best game - no doubts in my mind. However, I love the honesty and how he is every single one of us playing some shot we always think should be going better for us. Like my running coach said many years ago, "whether you're running a sub-8-minute mile or a sub-5-minute mile, everyone suffers at some level". Great videos.

I just finished today and made my best score of 121. Unfortunately not 75 but my best! My bag I have I paid $40 USD for and the only thing I was missing was a putter and a SW. So I agree with you on not needing the greatest in order to play a great game! Thanks for always being so supportive to an entire range of different players it helps keep me motivated and keep working to better the score.
Let’s goooooo!!!! After 20 years of playing, I got my first ever Ace last night! Was so damn excited. 124 yard par 3. into 7 mph winds with an 8i.

Hey Rick, ever consider doing a video on a full set of hybrids instead of irons I’m considering going down this root as a high handicapper who hits good woods and 3 hybrid but terrible with my irons due to flat swing ( or so my best mate tells me)

Great, great video! Two things accomplished. 1) breaking 75, and 2) showing that used clubs can produce a great score. I think too many of us get caught up in the hype of new clubs and feel that we need the latest and greatest(?) equipment. I think that you showed that older clubs can still be effective in scoring well.

Rick, we enjoy your vlogs. You're no Order of Merit Euro Tour Pro, but one over par is good golf. You played as well with those second-hand clubs as you do with your custom fits, thereby proving that it's the swing, not the club that matters. Can't wait to see you match up with Peter "Mork" Finch. It's fun to see "Mork" out-drive you only to lose the hole to your scrambling & putting ability.

Rick you've proved as is always the case the equipment is merely an extension of the ability. We don't need fittings and £2000 plus clubs you need a swing. Done. Great video!!!
I love this series. As a golfer who lives on the 2nd hand websites looking for decent clubs, I can relate on being excited on trying out a “new to me” set. I have the same burner driver and I love it! My irons are not major brand name, but I make due. I will say I wish I could break 75… I would be estatic to break 90!! Keep up the good work. I also love when you review a secret package set.

Oh, Rick. A RATIO of holes-in-one?! Most golfers will never get a hole-in-one in their lifetime, let alone more than one! I know it doesn’t seem like that bc someone has gotten 2, 3, or 7?! (My grandpa’s friend! WTF!) but a hole-in-one is only scored ONCE in every 3500 rounds of golf. Average time playing before getting a hole-in-one: 24 years! Crazy. Fun watching you play some really good golf on the #Break75 series! Love the mashup with the #GolfBidderChallenge!
I've been playing for over 50 years and have had 5 hole in ones. Just had a hole out from 140 yds last week on the 18th hole for eagle. So have been lucky a few times in my life. At 67 I hope I have a couple of more in me.

Never been this excited for a Part 2 on RUclips before! As I said on the first video, Break 75 + Golf Bidder = Genius!
Straight-up just bought that driver on eBay for $74 USD shipped.....figured it is worth a shot if Rick pipes that sucker as well as his regular every day driver! I'm all-about playing with what works rather than what costs a ton and looks prettiest! Great videos, good vibes, and fun to watch.

I don’t know about you guys, but drilling birdie putts feels incredible! Use what produces!
His green reading improved for a bit... nothing to do with the putter at all.
@@stuartstogdill2406 reading greens is only half the equation. If you don’t have a confident stroke with your putter, your reads won’t matter. And vice versa.
That’s the same putter I use it is a little hard but it’s very forgiving
100% I feel like Rick can be a little to obsessed with both how a club looks and how it feels. Play what works! After this round maybe he should swap his whole bag for these clubs, LOL.

I've been playing the Ping i e1 irons you are playing in this video for the last 3 years. I adore them. Brilliant clubs, a great player's iron. VERY SHAPEABLE. I even like them more than the i200 and i210 that replaced them. Sadly, they will be replaced in about 1 week by a custom set of Mizuno MP-20 MBs that I was fitted into a few months ago.
