Brazil - groove metal, Sepultura. Poland - imho blackened death. Vader. Behemoth Finland - actually power folk, which Ensiferum is. Esentially folk-metal scene. Netherlands - actually sounds more like Epica ;)
Polish metal isn't psychedelic anything. The piece in the video reminds of typical Polish death metal in the style of Behemoth. About as far away from psychedelic as you can get.
Maureen Davidson The thing with Japanese metal is that they take European genres and put Japanese melodies (and sometimes song structures as well) in there, so that's probably why they weren't mentioned (Japanese metal
Jao Leyon Wutep Well, scales are not enough to create new genres though, there's a lot more to it than that.. We could go back endlessly if you wish, but most metal genres today are mainly build around NWBHM, so that's why I say European.
i think ive read it was about countries who have made a contribution to the metal, and have created a unique sound for the metal scene. Im mexican and i know my country doesnt have an actual Major band as Sepultura for brazil. Metal in the eastern world actually hasnt had that development as in the western countries named in the video (except for Japan with the Visual kei and X-japan or even Australia with Parkway Drive). i do know Metal exist in many eastern countries but the east hasnt got that development due to religious and political beliefs.(e.g. China, Russia, Israel, many muslim countries and so)
UK - NWOBHM (Iron Maiden mostly), Germany - Helloween/Power Metal from Hamburg, Canada - Annihilator, Brazil - Sepultura, USA - Lamb of God?, Poland - Behemoth?, Sweden - Melodic Death Metal, Finland - Folk Metal/Kalmah, Spain - Mago de Oz?, Italy - Rhapsody? Fleshgod Apocalypse?, Norway - Black Metal (duh!), Netherlands - ?
Netherlands sounded like the work of Arjen Anthony Lucassen. He's released albums under his name, but also has a load of projects. This sounded like Ayreon/Guilt Machine. Not entirely sure.
That was awesome! For every country mentioned I knew exactly where you were drawing your inspiration and I'm amazed at how well it all ended up fitting together. I really admire your skill in composing.
Thank you for mentioning Nancial. I looked them up a long time ago and fell in love, then I forgot their name, and now I can make them my favorite again.
believe me if u're reading this yourself, there are tons n tons of people in the rat race of speed, features, technique, heaviness and whatnot .. but sense of melody is what separates the real talent and it shows when a Signature is developed in any instrument one plays .. you have a good sense of melody and that matters, in your style and everything .. good work (=
Of course the Big Four i just didn't want to list them because everyone lists them i wanted to give examples of bands from other genres as well like from Death Metal,Power Metal etc
Dude, my guitar is the antithesis to yours. same color, same knob positioning except my inlays and headstock are inverted....also mine is a jackson. Just funny, cool video
Well, for me it sounds kinda like Behemoth, it's probably the most known polish band everywhere else. There is also a great polish band called Vader, which is different then what You heard in this video, but those guys are worth checking them out.
I'm going to take a shot here: Intro - Any metal riff UK - NWOBHM, Iron Maiden-y Germany - 80's Hamburgesque Power Metal Canada - Annihilator (it's my country, I know this for sure) Brazil - Sepultura USA - Lamb of God, groove metal Poland - I actually don't know this :( Sweden - Melodic Death Finland - Folk Metal Spain - hmm... Mago de Oz? Italy - I'm going to go with Rhapsody, cuz that's the only band I know from there. Norway - black metal obviously Netherlands - I actually don't know
This is a great compilation of all metal of the world He's straight on the money These are all the bands he reminded me of in their respectful country UK: Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath Germany: Blind Guardian, Edguy, Christian Müenzner, Equilibrium Canada: Protest The Hero, Unexpect Brazil: Sepultura, Cavalera Conspiracy US: TesseracT(mostly from UK) Poland: (clean) Behemoth (lol) Sweden: Dark Tranquillity, Opeth, Katatonia, Mastodon, (Old) In Flames, Meshuggah, Vildhjarta
Really awesome video, really accurate. Not sure where you got the inspiration for Canada though. Metal in Canada is essentially the same as in America.
There are many symphonic Metal bands from Netherlands, but not many who sound like that. I'd say Epica come closest, but there's also Delain, Within Temptation, Imperia... though none of them do really sound like that.
Finland: Wintersun, Ensiferum, Turisas, Norther, Korpiklaani, Moonsorrow, Children of Bodom, Warmen, Sonata Arctica, Altaria, Cain's Offering, Stratovarius, Nightwish, Tarot, Sinergy Spain: Dark Moor? Itally:( not a good example to know what Italy has to offer) Norway: About every 2nd Wave Black Metal Band there is (Emperor, Mayhem, Thorns, Burzum, Darkthrone, Enslaved, Immortal, Dimmu Borgir, Gorgoroth, Ulver, Satyricon, Taake, Isahn, Arcturus, etc...)
I think you should make a second part with different countries as well. Nevertheless, glad that you've included Poland, we have plenty of very good metal bands like Turbo or Acid Drinkersl ;)
Scandinavia as a whole the best by far imo, but listening to this made me think Poland sounds like Red Alert and Netherlands has awesome metal music to listen to while strolling through tulip fields.
Mors Principium Est (Finland) Eluveitie (Switzerland) Dark Tranquillity (Sweden) Deals Death (Sweden) (I am not going to repeat Wintersun/Ensiferum/In Flames/Graveworm ...)
While I agree that all of the riffs were awesome, I have to argue that simplicity does not equal laziness. Mingus said, "Anyone can make the simple complicated. Creativity is making the complicated simple." I have some bias being American, but you can even take that example to represent a band like Gojira, from France.
ARIA of course :) and yes haha Poland does sound like C&C "Hell March". Is it in the style of modern Behemoth perhaps?(I do not know their work past ...From the Pagan Vastlands)
Polish fragment must have been inspired by Behemoth :P We have many more metal bands, but somehow the most popular outside of our country are Behemoth and Vader.
Im from canada and I love skull fist. They're really good they sound like old school power/speed metal to me. I live in the US but im canadian (moving back to canada though in about 4 weeks :D)
UK - NWOBHM, Iron Maiden
Germany - Power Metal, Helloween
Canada - Thrash Metal, Annihilator
Brazil - Nu/Thrash Metal, Sepultura (Cavalera)
USA - Metalcore, every core band
Poland - Black/Death Metal, Behemoth
Sweden - Melodic Death Metal, At the Gates
Finland - Folk Metal, Ensiferum
Spain - Power/Folk Metal, Mägo de Oz
Italy - Power/Symphonic Metal, Rhapsody
Norway - Black Metal, Mayhem
Netherlands - Symphonic Metal, Epica
Love how Norway is just 10 shades darker than the rest of 'em
It reminds me:
UK - Heavy - Iron Maiden
Germany - Europe style Power/Speed - Helloween
Canada - Technical
Brazil - [little exp]
USA - Metalcore scene
Poland - Psychedelic Progressive - Division by Zero, Riverside
Sweden - Gothenburg
Finland - Viking Pagan (Ensiferum)

Brazil - groove metal, Sepultura.
Poland - imho blackened death. Vader. Behemoth
Finland - actually power folk, which Ensiferum is. Esentially folk-metal scene.
Netherlands - actually sounds more like Epica ;)
you got it better
Polish metal isn't psychedelic anything. The piece in the video reminds of typical Polish death metal in the style of Behemoth. About as far away from psychedelic as you can get.
Germany reminded me a lot of Hypocrisy, which isn't a German band :D
I love how this video is all yay and good fun, until the Norwegians come along and bring down the fucking sun...
won't you come
wash away the rain
Dude when you hit that Finland riff!!! And the strings in Netherlands I COULD CRY
you did the brazillian metal, cool
I loved it, but I was kind of crossing my fingers for Japan to show up, maybe something X Japan inspired. Amazing as always though!
Jao Leyon Wutep me too.

Jao Leyon Wutep Alright :)
holy shit im from germany and i like to play like he has shown just for the lolz, i dindnt even knew its like a common style/technique
xD
It sounds similar to "Iron Saviour - Tyranny of Steel"
I still come back to this. Think it's a great representation of regional metal styles!
This is simply tear-inducing.
Thank you.
metal around the western world. Seriously, eastern country got so many metal bands too
post examples, in all likelihood they've been excluded due to ignorance, not malice
Colin Edmunds chthonic, myrath and maximum the hormone would be some examples
i think ive read it was about countries who have made a contribution to the metal, and have created a unique sound for the metal scene. Im mexican and i know my country doesnt have an actual Major band as Sepultura for brazil.

not at all, they cant even compare in numbers
lol Annihilator thrash Canada. Nailed it!
Personally I’d have wanted some razor but beggars can’t be choosers.
UK - NWOBHM (Iron Maiden mostly), Germany - Helloween/Power Metal from Hamburg, Canada - Annihilator, Brazil - Sepultura, USA - Lamb of God?, Poland - Behemoth?, Sweden - Melodic Death Metal, Finland - Folk Metal/Kalmah, Spain - Mago de Oz?, Italy - Rhapsody? Netherlands sounded like the work of Arjen Anthony Lucassen. He's released albums under his name, but also has a load of projects. This sounded like Ayreon/Guilt Machine.
Not entirely sure.
After many years this is still my favourite video on YT
That was awesome! For every country mentioned I knew exactly where you were drawing your inspiration and I'm amazed at how well it all ended up fitting together. I really admire your skill in composing.
Finland is the boss!
US was a little oversimplified, but great job nonetheless! I liked Brazil the best
Finland is the best !!! :D
i like the finnish and german part most...whole video rocks, good job man :)
Thank you for mentioning Nancial. I looked them up a long time ago and fell in love, then I forgot their name, and now I can make them my favorite again.
Norway, Black Metal, woo!
Polish metal is awesome metal!
Finnish melodeath is best!
Wintersun ❤
Raz Ben Ari Please, please, please make a tab for this!!
The ending with Netherlands Power/Symphonic/Gothic metal mix was awesome :D
Fantastically done, yet again!
The Netherlands style IMMEDIATELY reminded me of Carach Angren. Very nice video altogether as well, great job!
Fantastic, awesome!!! You really understand and feel that music! Greetings and great Charvel, I believe my friend has the same model. ;)
believe me if u're reading this yourself, there are tons n tons of people in the rat race of speed, features, technique, heaviness and whatnot .. but sense of melody is what separates the real talent and it shows when a Signature is developed in any instrument one plays .. you have a good sense of melody and that matters, in your style and everything .. good work (=
you sir a great musician and an excellent guitar player! btw i love the sound of that guitar!
Can watch this dude play all day
thank you so much for your response :)
I will look check the band mate

I'm so proud that you included my country - Poland! Thank you!
Pięknie napierdalasz.
\m/
you're videos are great. wish I could play as well as you do!
I liked US, Brazil, Germany and Norway the most.
You are a great Guitarist.
This is the greatest video ever in the whole youtube! greetings from finland
dude, your transitions are smooth as shit. good work.
Of course the Big Four i just didn't want to list them because everyone lists them i wanted to give examples of bands from other genres as well like from Death Metal,Power Metal etc
Yeah, it's like with all the others riff is the main thing but with Norway the main thing is the double bass.
the brazil part looks a lot like sepultura! great vid man!
You nailed Canadian metal brother, lol. I have never really thought about it much, but there's definitely a Canadian sound.
I loved the Finland part!
The polish one reminds me of hell march
my favorite part was the poland-sweeden-finland group. Loved the chord progression
I love it how this video is accurate... nice!
I really think that to represent the US, you could have used bay area thrash or uspm and for Canada, you could use technical death metal.
I'm going to take a shot here:
Intro - Any metal riff
UK - NWOBHM, Iron Maiden-y
Germany - 80's Hamburgesque Power Metal
Canada - Annihilator (it's my country, I know this for sure)
Brazil - Sepultura
USA - Lamb of God, groove metal
Poland - I actually don't know this :(
Sweden - Melodic Death
Finland - Folk Metal
Spain - hmm... Mago de Oz?
Italy - I'm going to go with Rhapsody, cuz that's the only band I know from there.
Norway - black metal obviously
Netherlands - I actually don't know
This is a great compilation of all metal of the world
He's straight on the money
These are all the bands he reminded me of in their respectful country
UK: Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath
Germany: Blind Guardian, Edguy, Christian Müenzner, Equilibrium
Canada: Protest The Hero, Unexpect
Brazil: Sepultura, Cavalera Conspiracy
US: TesseracT(mostly from UK)
Poland: (clean) Behemoth (lol)
Sweden: Dark Tranquillity, Opeth, Katatonia, Mastodon, (Old) In Flames, Meshuggah, Vildhjarta
during the "italy" part u had to do a ultra-fast-super-epic solo in sweep picking but u are not turilli so...nevermind :)
Really awesome video, really accurate. Not sure where you got the inspiration for Canada though. Metal in Canada is essentially the same as in America.
i can tell whenever i hear the norwegian metal style...
nothing is better then norwegian metal
Finland spotted ! Great job dude ! (:
the Norwegian part sounds just like Antestor.
CANADA is the best riff! (Devin Townsed? :p) Awesome video!
There are many symphonic Metal bands from Netherlands, but not many who sound like that. I'd say Epica come closest, but there's also Delain, Within Temptation, Imperia... though none of them do really sound like that.
Finland: Wintersun, Ensiferum, Turisas, Norther, Korpiklaani, Moonsorrow, Children of Bodom, Warmen, Sonata Arctica, Altaria, Cain's Offering, Stratovarius, Nightwish, Tarot, Sinergy
Spain: Dark Moor?
Itally:( not a good example to know what Italy has to offer)
Norway: About every 2nd Wave Black Metal Band there is (Emperor, Mayhem, Thorns, Burzum, Darkthrone, Enslaved, Immortal, Dimmu Borgir, Gorgoroth, Ulver, Satyricon, Taake, Isahn, Arcturus, etc...)
Canadian was the most funniest, because it reminded me the sound of Protest The Hero has.
I think you should make a second part with different countries as well. Nevertheless, glad that you've included Poland, we have plenty of very good metal bands like Turbo or Acid Drinkersl ;)
Yeah I did a little research and found that Epica come closer as you said, but I really liked Within Temptation, I'm now addicted :)
Scandinavia as a whole the best by far imo, but listening to this made me think Poland sounds like Red Alert and Netherlands has awesome metal music to listen to while strolling through tulip fields.
yeah, On thorns I lay did some great stuff in doom metal
Mors Principium Est (Finland)
Eluveitie (Switzerland)
Dark Tranquillity (Sweden)
Deals Death (Sweden)
(I am not going to repeat Wintersun/Ensiferum/In Flames/Graveworm ...)
It's surprising how accurate this is :P
United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Netherlands were my favorites. Poland and Norway really got my attention.
While I agree that all of the riffs were awesome, I have to argue that simplicity does not equal laziness. Mingus said, "Anyone can make the simple complicated. Creativity is making the complicated simple." I have some bias being American, but you can even take that example to represent a band like Gojira, from France.
would you look at that it goes to show you that no matter where your from metal is still badass!
You got a point there, man. Lol, no one's gonna hate you for making sense of things. :P
Am I the only one who comes back here every couple years for the vibe?
nah me too
finland, norway and the netherlands are by far the best! awesome work man (:
That Canada riff is awesome!
Checkout Skinflint, they're from Botswana and oldschool as fuck.
You and 311Erock should totally start a band.
You as Rythm guitarist and Erock as Lead guitarist seems fine to me :)
nice you got a new camera with hd quality xD
Your composing skills are equal to your great playing.
You can't ever have too much power metal.
i was honestly pretty surprised on how cool the Canadian was haha i'm not much of a Metal fanatic anymore though so that's probably why
Also the Chinese have some great bands too, like Ego Fall for example. Very innovative
i cant believe how acurate this is canada sounds just like annihilator
Sweden, Finland and Norway all represented, we are so awsome ^^... and ofcourse the swedish representation was the best part ;P
Badass! Shout out from Norway
Дык, у нас тоже деревня :)
Скажем так - нередко продолжатели жанра выдают уровень круче основоположников. Thanks!
Norway is just an explosion of fucking brutal dark atmosphere, so much life in it everything else seems dull.
dude there are so many bands to name everyone in the coment XD but thanks to point that one !
Thanks for adding the Netherlands we usually dont get the spotlight I personally think Norway is the best though but I liked all of it
Im from canada and I love skull fist. They're really good they sound like old school power/speed metal to me. I live in the US but im canadian (moving back to canada though in about 4 weeks :D)
@Hrui3859
Italy's metal is mostly like Rhapsody of Fire and Luca Turili.
Парочку бывает слушаю. Я понял Вашу точку зрения. Тут Вы правы, они не оказали влияния на мировую сцену, но у себя в "деревне" они очень даже.
there's krisiun too, and manowar I think
Most are quite accurate, though I don't think Sweden got enough credit for how awesome their metal is!
I think he was going for a groove metal sound if you ask me.
Surprised you actually put Poland in here. Cool job man, keep it up :)
awesome man!
