Love it when he tips his hat to our military. My son is a Green Beret in Afghanistan and coming home in a couple of weeks. So thankful for all that serve and to those that paid the ultimate price. Something the think about this Memorial Day.

I’m a veteran and I am thankful for his nod to us. There is four generations of veterans in my family, WWII (RIP,DAD) Korea (RIP UNCLE DEWEY) Vietnam, (Purple Heart) and Iraq. I’ve spent months away from family during the holidays, been in sub zero and devil hot weather and I never take our service members for granted. Old Glory and the POW/MIA flag flies proudly above my house every day. I’m so happy your brave warrior is coming home. God bless him. I tip my hat. Thank you.

I grew up on ranches and dairies and lived in the "big city" and suburbs, too. After living in the country, with room to move and breath, living on a street with other houses around is like living in a "kennel" with another caged animal on every side of you. You can't be yourself or do your own thing without someone else getting bothered or calling an HOA on you or just watching everything you do.
I live down in Georgia, now and would tell my kid that it makes me "claustrophobic" because of all the pine trees everywhere you look. By the roads, in the hills, in the valley. He didn't really understand until we took a road trip to see his grandmother and drove route 66, through the open countryside of Arizona, Texas, New Mexico and Southern California. We were looking over a broad, wide open Vista of purple and brown and green with a mesa, waaaay off in the distance, when he looked at me with an amazed yet understanding face and said "I finally get it... Why you always say you're claustrophobic."
Everybody should experience the country sometime in their life, then the city to make them appreciate it...

My sourdough mention came from an article I read in my teens, on old-west sourdough practice. Said northern ‘sourdoughs’ (men) feared porcupines the most, because they slept with their food under their pillow to keep it from the bears, but porcupines didn’t care and could be a blinding hazard if startled.
That article got me cooking sourdough, did it for years. Bread to donuts, but pancake was my forté. Yeah singular, 1 per frypan, an inch thick with berries or apple pieces ending up sindged on the bottom. The flip was always fun, cut it in 6 like a pizza. Leftover ‘slices’ could be split and popped in the toaster. Cooking/frying took longer, couldn’t use too fine a sugar or it would burn.. Good times.

Kent, my daughter took me to a Mother's Day brunch at a fancy restaurant & that was the 1st time I ever ate at a restaurant where you had to have reservations! I will be 62 in September. LOL We had crab cakes eggs benedict and omg! It was delicious!

I’m divorced but I cooked for ten years married and recently found my groove to cook again.. I guess what I’m getting at is thank you for the knowledge and fun y’all bring into the world of cooking.. Coincidentally somehow it came up last night about when I went out of town with my friend and he ordered eggs benedict for breakfast at the hotel we stayed in, I'd never had it before and he shared half with me and it was soooo good even though I'm not a big egg fan. Leave it to Kent to post a recipe I'll make!

Eggs Benedict is one of my favorite meals. Salmon, trout, crab, ham, bacon or most other meats, it doesn’t matter it’s all amazing. I could do shots of “holiday” sauce. Looks like a good recipe cookie.

I truly love eggs Benedict. The soft egg with the thick lemony sauce, salty ham and beautiful toasted English Muffin. I know making something with a twist is the objective but to me the original is perfect but good luck finding it. Most restaurants use that Knorr powdered mix, so horrible that stuff. Been watching CKR, Shan, and the Beeg since 150k subs. Knew the minute I saw the thumbnail that our man had been under the weather. SO glad to hear you're on your way back Cowboy!
Now....for any Cowboy Kent fans who haven't tried this man's seasonings: YOU'RE MISSING OUT! I've been cooking 35 years, and I accumulated a massive assortment of seasoning, spices, shakes, marinades....you name it. Then about 2 years ago I ordered my first container of Cowboy Kent's Red River Ranch Original seasoning. Within a month I'd thrown away at least 2/3 of all that other crap I'd hoarded! Soon I was buying it in the 3lb bag and giving it as gifts to friends and family. Then I started adding the Mesquite version to my order, and whaddya know....it's every bit as good in a different way! Not only do his seasonings taste great, but they are amazingly versatile. After I gave a bottle of the Original to my father-in-law he emailed me and asked what all I used it for. When I sent him my suggestions he replied, "Good grief! I should have asked what foods you DON'T use it on. Your list would have been much shorter!" LOL.
