    Should have mentioned that a burnisher turns at a much higher rate of speed and "burnishes" the finish and should be kept in motion to prevent possible damage to tile. I don't recall ever making a "buffer burn" with electric but it is quite easy and common with propane. Great video though. Have a blessed day.

    I need some advice on stripping , how do you strip 8 yrs of wax from a fake wood floor

  • @TheFloorBuffer
    @TheFloorBuffer  12 лет назад +1

    No, a high speed machine can NOT be used for wet stripping. High speed burnishers have a single purpose which is to achieve a high gloss/shine or "wet look" appearance on flooring surfaces. A low speed buffer machine can be used for wet stripping applications.

    Where can I buy those machines?

  • @TheFloorBuffer

    No, a brush can not be used on a high speed (over 1000 RPM) machine. You can, however, use a brush on a low speed (175 RPM) rotary machine.

    As a general rule of thumb, high speed burnishers generally cost more than low speed rotary machines.

    No, a low speed (175 RPM) would be the machine to use for wet stripping applications.

    I would add that you should NEVER put any kind of scrubbing, or stripping pad on a burnishing machine. The friction of the pad and the floor will cause it's motor to overheat from lack of torque(turning strength)power, and the pad will possibly tear apart from turning so fast, with the overly high friction. I have seen and experienced this first-hand. I wish I had been taught that beforehand.

    When I burnish a floor with a battery operated walk behind burnisher, there are black "chips" in the pad and my wax is scratched. Do you know what is happening?

  • @TheFloorBuffer
    @TheFloorBuffer  12 лет назад

    At this time, there is not one single machine that can operate at both low (175 rpm) and high speeds (over 1000 RPM).

    No, a brush can not be used on a high speed machine. It can, however, be used on a low speed or dual speed rotary machine.

      I would check out APPA or Bruco. Some janitorial suppliers should be able to direct you to some places.
