Love this show. Johnny Dollar , by far the best- written and best-acted of the radio crime dramas. They age well , like classics. Rockford Files, Mannix , Cannon, these 70s shows drew much of their attitude from Johnny Dollar.
@@ps86v52 Yes I Remember :) Good to hear from you and I hope you are well indeed. Tis the season for the that certain Medieval Christmas music coming very soon :) Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
I had been putting Johnny Dollar on the back burner because I was so in LOVE with BOX 13 and Alan Ladd and just couldn’t let myself love another! lol 😂… anyway I finally figured I had to give the man with the action packed expense account a chance. I’m so glad I did! Thank you so much for all of your wonderful work sharing these treasures with us.
Bob Bailey played the Johnny Dollar character so well. These are always great. Good job uploading these 5-part episodes with the nice scenery. Fun way to pass the time. Thanks for uploading these.
Glad you like them! I agree Bob Bailey is great! The 5 part format wasn't my favorite at first but I really enjoy them now! They are able to tell a fuller story

I got the idea from MASH. 🔫 ⛺ COL' Potter played chess with his older cronies during the Korean Conflict. He was on an episode talking Hawkeye the way he and his 6 friends played all during the prior 2 wars. It was a sad story. Over time, his buddies started passing. The last one to play was now at home, while Potter was still in service. He had an old bottle of brandy he took off of a shelf and made Hawkeye promise to send it to his buddy if he (Potter) passed next. Later in that episode, Potter recieved a letter. Thanks for this. The episodes are all top notch! Thanks for editing out the lengthy musical interludes too, not sure why they were made so much louder than the whole rest of the show? No one could fall asleep with such action, mystery and suspense ! Thanks again for all the hard work.
I love the Johnny Dollar musical interludes ! His show left us at 4&5&6 wide-eye 6:02 d at the ' bigness if you will,of Hollywood New York suspense! This was also the advent of tv. Not many people had them.
I *knew* that was Howard! I kept waiting for him to sing the praises of the sound the lather brush makes against the shaving mug. "Clep... clep... clep..."
That's what I love about those! That is one of my favorite videos that I've made for the radio shows! I'm looking for more clips like that to make more! Thanks again for tuning in to the channel!

How clean, tidy, & orderly everything looks in the movie. It would be interesting to see the same journey today. I'm not too good on American cars, but it looks contemporaneous with the radio series - early to mid 1950s. There are some obvious styling cues copied by European car manufacturers. I assume it's NYC, but obviously not downtown Manhattan; I didn't recognise any notable buildings or vistas. I didn't know that there were double decker buses at that time in the USA. What a shame that there was only 30 minutes of footage.
Hi glad you enjoyed it. I take various public domain clips and uspcale them to HD. They feature NY, NJ, CA and other areas. I'll be working on more videos to mix it up so stay tuned!
Thankfully, archaeology is not done like this any longer - not even by Americans! It's hard to credit that people within my lifetime actually believed in 2500 year old curses.
Please edit out the crappy music between the episodes. It not only sucks but there to long. In a 5 part show the music makes up almost 15% of the show. It is almost as bad as not removing the cigarette commercials from a dragnet episode. So please cut down on the music between episodes thank you

I like when the cigarette commercials say that doctors recommend a certain brand, especially Camels. Really makes you trust the medical community.
