Carlla Santini lol yes they are I live here waves are always 3-4ft on average go ahead look them up today they are 5ft. they get even bigger in the winter cause of the cold fronts. this is not even close to a hurricane. this is average everyday waves.

Pretty gnarly, but honestly those are beginner waves. Save up some bread, fly out here to Half Moon Bay (California), and we'll see what you're really made of.
Please don't compare this or anything else in Florida to Leadbetter, Mavericks, Trestles or dozens of other California surf spots. Florida's great for beginners but it's nothing like California for some real surfing. Floridian's should learn to hang ten on nice long boards.

Daytona beaches' waves usually aren't this big, sometimes in January they'll get big but not usually this much.

This is a good day but not a Hurricane. Hurricane swell will last a few days before and after it passes and is a few feet bigger than this.
