How powerful is the "Noisey Cricket"? NEW mini-episode over on my Insta (instagram.com/sci_phile/). Thanks for watching! -- KH
this episode was genius, i love your videos kyle, so here´s my cuestion, can you do an episode with bill nye??
Nerdist love the outro XD
Nerdist Can you explain how it's possible for Tarzan to run on his knuckles without damaging his hand. or is it impossible
Then can you neuralize through tv/youtube?
#TheCakeIsALie :)
Zaf Khan or what about tree sufering???? I always thought that was cool but definitely impossible.
This de-powered Thor always makes my day with his nerdy stuff
Systematyc
Thor's power for that hair is a worthy trade and does not constitute de-powered status.
I vote best comment.
Agent H
Does my actions have consequences?
How cold does mr freezes gun have to be to to freeze people instantly.
MONDO GECKO 0 degrees kelvin
even absolute Zero isn't cold enough to freeze a Person instandly.
MysTic Gaming It's just Kelvin, no degrees.
Fatherbrain oh ok
Actually even below 0 degrees kelvin. I don't know quite the specifics but heat needs time to go from one body to another but the speed in which Mr. freeze freezes the environment or his enemies is so fast that it is literally impossible by real life physics to achieve the temperature needed to compensate the lack of time.
Have you ever went to the kitchen, opened the fridge and forget what you were about to do? Let me tell you what happened, you saw an alien and got neuralized by the Men In Black (there is no other logical explanation)
I must constantly have alien encounters then...
Wrong. I always remember I was looking for food but I always have my freezer empty.
That's because you have never seen an alien in your kitchen [?
The Executor There must be certain aliens who really like to reside in refrigerators. Seems plausible.
No, it's more God deletes your queue when he's playing Sims.
0:56
Nooooo, I was expecting it to loop for the entire duration of the video.
Because Science is the best part of Nerdist.
I agree -- KH
Nerdist you should do a Because Science on your daddy Elon's venomous bats.
Let's not forget they also have it fine tuned enough to work down to a very specific time and date like in MIB 2. Even though he was having his memory wiped dozens of years back it was only targeting alien and MIB based memory.
then how does the De-neuralizer work?
Bob Man They just change the neurons they can change the back
I'm not sure that would work. because neurons are ever changing. they're continually firing and making new neural pathways.
okay I can see it working for short term but hwo the hell do you delete Years! from long term
Technically talking, a neuralizer would work a lot like the alzheimer disease, just blocking certain neuronal connections but not all the neuronal connections, so a de-neuralizer simply would unblock those neuronal pathways making the memories available again
And the brain resists neurolaser after some time.
Come on Kyle - you obviously are an alien yourself. No human male has such luxuriant locks as yours. You and Chris Hemsworth are clearly of the same species, which I am going to assume are the Lorealians form the Head and Shoulders nebula... :-)
You asked, I (finally) delivered! SURPRISE LIGHTSABER t-shirts now available! shop.nerdist.com/products/because-science-surprise-t-shirt -- KH
Andrew Meyer He forgot to make those.
Nerdist do a video on how shinichi stopped a car with his hand in Parasite anime
Nerdist SUPRISE LIGHTSABER...
surprise neuralizer
Funny how everyone who says they have been abducted or encountered an alien space craft always seem to say "There was a very bright light, and then the next thing I knew I was..."
Can you explain how it's possible for Tarzan to run on his knuckles without damaging his hand. or is it impossible
Zaf Khan you can get use to it
he walked on his knuckles since he was a baby. Bones are much softer in the early years and after time the bones of his hand and arms would adjust to the added strain and shift/move/adjust the bones in his hands to make them tailored for that type of movement. Various martial arts require you to harden your hands through various methods. When a bone breaks(or rather the small cavities in the bone itself break) they fuse together again and make the whole system stronger.
Zaf Khan calluses
how about his skinn? maybe calluses?
Epigenetics?
RUclips needs a love button. Cause I love this!
Love the humour in it and as it is always legit things he says, not made up stuff. Keep up the good work we love it
Thank you! -- KH
Oh yay one of those hyper sensitive and insecure macho macho puffs chests guys. lol
"It's like Cosmos, but with me, so it's sssstupid"
Don't talk smack about Kyle!
nah they cant the hospital already did that
oh wait. that was neutering
I always wondered what happened if you blinked or closed your eyes. Would the neuralizer still work? What if it bounced off reflective surfaces?
I forgot what I was doing here.
Edit: Right! First!...
Drinking game! Take a shot every time Kyle gets wiped
*throws blueshell*
phatleet - ï kno - stfu!
Me And Hearthstone - you too- stfu!
Marco Pohl you thought the blueshell would hit me, but ha, I have a boombox.
One thing, Kyle:
The novel for the first movie actually touched on the Neruolizer's origin. It is a device they took from aliens and modified using alien tech.
The funny thing is, in the English original you guys call it (officially) the Neuralyzer! 😇 🤗🤓😎😉
But in Germany, we call it (officially from the German Dub) the "Blitzdings" (literally: "Flash thingy") 😋😚😉😆🤔😂😂😂😂😂
I'm having issues remembering the things you explain in this video. All I remember are bits and pieces, split apart by some flashing lights.
Can you make a video on wether rick's micro verse car battery is actually scientifically capable of generating sufficient energy
Rick and morty is very scientifically accurate. The creators did every research possible, and therefore, have a pocket universe battery powering everything. Yes, they're gods. Yes it works. How dare you question Rick and Morty!
Been watching lots of your previous videos..
SO stoked you've sorted out the ridiculously loud transition music ;)
Could you do an episode on why you wouldn’t want the superpower of elasticity.. like Mr. Fantastic, or Elongated Man? I’ve always been fascinated with that particular superpower
You totally missed an opportunity... [talk about Neuralizer]... [pull out thing]... [vibrate]... "Oops, wrong one!" [embarrassed expression]...
XD
Caleb Griffin hi
I-I-I'm sure I don't ge-ge-get it.
Kyle- stay cool, bro! I love your videos and all of the thoughtful jokes you throw in during your transitions, like fumbling with your shades to try and avoid a neutralizer shot! Keep up the GREAT work!!!
Ooh, a new KH video!
9 minutes later.

Mattheas Braspenning Pede Get what. I don't know how I got in this video.
Ahhh I get it!

I wonder if we could increase intelligence and reaction times if we figured out a way to genetically modify nerve cells to increase the number of axons and dendrites they grow...
I love the mix of humor and science, keep up the awesomeness!!!
Just realized the initials for this show are BS.
mindstormmaster 😱
Not true it can be real
I've watched this video 3 times now and I still can't remember seeing any of it...
Maybe Elvis his body was just a host for an awesome species of an alien superstar parasite?? ...*Flash* ....
I find it awesome that you are wearing sunglasses in your profile picture when you posted this.
My wish is fulfilled. I wanted a video on this. Thanks Kyle and Because Science! :)
It would also explain why in the movies they respond to or deal with the idea that losing your memories in some cases could and will feel like you had a really bad night of drinking.
I love Kyle's subtle humor... LOL (and also his fantastic hair... as I just cut off my ponytail myself)
Why make it so complicated? There is no need to add vision to different wavelength.
Normal light in he correct pattern might very well be able to stimulate and influence our brain.
"Synesthesia" - really interesting research topic.
This was a very funny and good episode! Love "Because Science"!!
you always crack me up I love watching your shows on this channel
This video wiped a little bit of my memory with those flashes, now I temporarily forgot about you yelling "Surprise Lightsaber!" While I was thinking about all of the running gags in this show. XD
You are getting better and better. :D Science is awesome!
I just saw an ad with Hank Green in it. And that's absolutely all I remember about it.
Mad props to your effects team man XD
the play with the device had me crackin up nice video and amazing hair hahaha
every flash, i forgot i was watching, and i'd go to back out, see the title of the video and start watching it. eventually i got excited and was like "Can we get neuralized? Hang on i wanna feel apart of the system and get my sunglasses!" quite an interesting chunklet of knowledge!
Intresting. this helps me with my new story i am working on :) thanks for the simple explenation.
So far this is the best episode ever.
So good. I love these videos.
make this a 10 hour version where it just loops everytime you make yourself forget something
Dude, that is an awesome brain you drew at 6:13.
6:13 - Kyle's brain has been shriveled by all that Neuralizing.
Of course, there also seems to be an element of inducing a hypersuggestible state involved, since they can suggest replacement memories.... like dumping BugEdgar and going to town and buying yourself a nice dress.
The "neurolyser" of the original comics did just that, but it was often used for more nefarious purposes, e.g. taking one alien incursion witness to one side and mesmerizing him into massacring all the other witnesses and himself.
@@nicholastosoni707 ...and THEN he can go to town and buy himself a nice dress
@@tzisorey And how will he manage to do that FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE?
@@nicholastosoni707 It works in Corpse Bride.
Seems that we can start an anthology based on Kyle's videos: we already have "Kyle vs. facehuggers", "Kyle vs. GLADoS", "Kyle vs. Neuralizers" and "Kyle vs. god-knows-what-else-I-forgot-from-earlier-episodes"
Wow, good job Kyle! That sounds plausible.
His humor and jokes are gold I love learning thought Kyle
Nice video I always love your content
"I'm Will Smith now, haha." Nope my dear Mr Hill, you forgot to suit up!
Can you blame him for forgetting this? After all that neuralizer had a little to much fun with him ;-)
I would have thought you'd go the route of transcranial laser stimulation, but this possibility is really neat too.
Kyle from today you don't exist on paper and you'll be known as Agent K!
Oh Boy! I can't wait to see this video for the very first time!
But the thing is: how do we know these memory wiping secrets don't already exist and are being used to keep said secrets secret?
origamichamp in this secret box.........I forgot what I was going to say 😕.
love this channel
the flash gag never gets old ^__^
Dammnnn His hair is so majestic!
Once question? Could The neurolazer work using a certain patron of lights that can disturb the brain function?
I love your sense of humor..
This is a pretty awesome video. Sometimes Kyle is a little hit and miss but this is quality.
i have a great idea for your next video. here goes, could someone actually survive an attack from Kenshin Himura with the reversed blade? Im sure it would be like a freight train hitting someone, his speed is insane so i think it would kill more than it would incapacitate.
love your vids
this guy .. only reason i subscribed to this channel !
Kyle, as a less flashy (pun intended) alternative of a real life neuroscience device that could inspire a neuralizer, look at Trasncranial Magnetic Stimulation. Basically, it is a device that uses focused magnetic fields to affect a specific part of the brain, without the need of direct contact (although right now it needs to be just above the skull). It is used mainly for medical treatments and some degree of research and does not seem to cause any permanent changes (although some effects can linger in time for a while), so it is not unfeasible that with some tweaks and the help of a bit of alien tech it could be used as a basis for a memory wiping device.
7:37 liked because of this joke, thank you Kyle, for making my day
Nuts!
Now that Kyle has had an accumulative two years of Science! wiped from his memory, we'll have to put up with the next two years seeing him research & perform these videos again. I knew we should never have let our government establish a Redundant Department of Departmental Redundancy Department.......
I'd actually be curious to hear your input on abductee experiences, recorded UFO sightings, etc.
why wouldnt i think of this topic early thanks KH
So, what would happen if you blinked at just the right time? Would it just have no effect? Or would it be powerful enough to work through closed eyes?
Also, I seem to remember hearing that memory doesn't come back if the neural links are severed, so how does the de-neuralizer (from MiB 2) work? Would it work at all?
My question: Would being neuralized be potentially damaging to your brain (or any other part of the body for that matter)?
I agree with you. I enjoyed MIB3 :)
Could also look at light wave frequency and how they affect individual... Even colour theory and mood.
....Synesthesia and Clairvoyance
Theoretically, our eyes are already susceptible to a certain frequency of EM energy that could disrupt our neurons in such a way that the left frontal lobe memory neurons (short term memory) as well as long term memory neurons (time might be dialed up/down by raising/lowering light intensity) may be confused and don't flow where they're supposed to and they memories are forgotten.
Was there anything writen on that page you threw behind you? :P
Nice video as usual, please make a video about how strong Spiderman can actualy be if he had spider-like strengh with his human-sized body. :D
What would a Flux Capacitor (Back to the Future) do in real life?
What about using electro magnetic waves? would be easier?
Game LeakPro light is a form of electromagnatic waves
Humans can be controlled with sound to pretty creepy extents, I don't see how light should be different.
I literally couldn't sleep last night thinking if the flash thingy from MIB could really work and then you post this video! 0.0
Talk about coincidence!
Should do a video about the A-team flying the tank
Is this the same idea that The Silence uses in Doctor Who, that you only know about them when you see them, but immediately forget them when you’re not looking at them?
It is... but...
"it's not out of the question that you may have a very minor case of serious brain damage."
I bet Jess had that ability to neuralize people in the office. Actually that would make for a great skit.
Kyle, your explanation assumes that the light is the mechanism for the memory erasure. What if it's a side effect, and the actual mechanism is actually a closely focused, directed EMP burst that affects the regions of the brain that encode short-term memory and "reset" them (kinda like a circuit breaker)? Would that work, and if so, how?
So thats why the camera flash did the thing in Get Out
this reminds me of the riddler in batman in which he was tapping into the memories of peoples minds
I don't remember watching this, but it says I did. I guess I'll watch it again and figure out what I forgot.
I thought it was to do with two things, the frequency of the light and the pulse rate of the light. The resultant electrical cascade acts like a mild form of ECT.
Can you make a video about the memory wipe procedure in Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind?
You know how when you turn your head your vision blurs, and the less known fact when you turn your head quickly you forget what you see when you're your vision is blurred from turning your head quickly.
well maybe you could trick your eyes to forget more than just the last instant when your vision was blurred. IDK but at least sounds like it makes sense.
One I would love to see Kyle do: Could a kilometers-deep, planet-wide city (like Coruscant in the _Star Wars_ movies) actually exist? I'm guessing probably not, but I would love to see the science on it. :-)
how does the iron Curtain or the Chronosphere from Red Alert 3 work?
Alternate theory: it is futuristic/alien technology that uses some sort of unknown energy wavelength that is similar to light, and appears as such to humans.
What is the physiology of transformers. I recently watched Age Of Extinction and am confused how they can die ( not using weapons )? Like will certain objects crush them or if they jump from a skyscraper without using the side of the building as a break would they snap on contact?
