@LynxOGrady thank you very much. my car was the crx, my dad built the supra pretty much in tandem with the crx. i agree im not a huge v8 carb guy but the sound and power you can get out of them for cheap is crazy. im now in the process of putting a fuel injected lt1 in the crx with a t5 transmission. o the supra is sold now too
I have a question if u can reply back... Is that just the intercooler for show or is it turbo, procharges? or wat? i hav a project of my own and i want to know... thanks
lol poor thing my jdm1jz supra would anialate any 350 n/a engine ive built 450hp n/a 350's cant get much more without going forced induction. props on who ever said fuck it lets swap the headers around feed the pipes out frontwards lol. this car is a toyota camaro! :o but i am not a lover of beef in my rice. plus my car makes 400hp with stock twins and i can handle 700 with a turbo and some supporting mods less then this swaap costs for shure
@colindyvig The SL's are about as quick as a SOHC Honda, lol. The VR-4's were really quick. I did some reading and the advertised 0-60 was in the 7's, but that was low compared to what some were saying it actually was. Looks like you didn't add too much weight to it after all, that's a really good power to weight ratio.
ya but how much more is the cost? think about it. its nice to have an engine that they have parts available in every parts store and not to mention much cheaper. stock head gasket for a 350=$20, stock head gasket for a 7m=$60, catch my drift? lets be honest 7ms aren't to on the light side either. mk3 supras weigh like 3600lbs so i dont really think it matters.
I see your point. Cost wise, and parts availability, 350 wins hands down. Depending on what you intend to use the car for I can understand your reasoning completely. I think too many people throw handling, balance, and practicality out the window and build cars that sounds good in theory but just doesn't work in reality. I get what you are saying though. I can see your logic, and would have to agree.
Its not a mustang motor is a chevy 350 engine. You can tell by the distrubutor. Chevys had the distrubtors in the rear of the engines were fords had them in the front of the engine. Easy way to tell.
@Theultimatebohab420 corvette? get a 87 s10blazer 2door or long box s10 toss a lt1 5.7 from any lt1 z28 camaro with the auto tranny get a tranz break for 9" rearend some hoosier wrinkle wall rubbers cage it slightly for anti twisting :P hit up s10v8.com mental acceleration drop the tranzbreak and ur like YIKES at first like wholey fuckk somethings gunna break
@colindyvig Yeah, I think the MK3's were almost 4000 pounds. And also...I'm sure those who knock the Supra would also knock the 3000GT VR-4, saying it's a piece of shit fag car, when it runs a 7.3 0-60 stock with FWD or AWD...
You could have easily gotten more power from the motor it originally came with. Even bone stock it was almost as powerful as that carbureted 350. Now it's a nose heavy pig!
A 7M GE weighs 450lbs and makes just under 200hp. A GTE weighs in around 500lbs for another 60hp. It's a cast iron straight 6. A 350 with iron heads will tip the scales at 550lbs so it's a 50lb increase but a shorter engine allowing it to be mounted further back improving weight distribution. Also being pushrod and a V shape reduces engine height creating a lower center of gravity. An old 350 with a cheap off-the-shelf carb and set of headers from AutoZone will spit out 300hp and 330lb ft easily with the old heads and crappy cam. Bolt on some cheap Vortec heads and install a decent (not even extreme) cam and it's easy to make over 400hp dirt cheap with great reliability. The 7M really wasn't a very good engine. It liked to blow head gaskets, was really heavy (as were the JZs...long cast iron blocks won't be light things) and didn't like to revv. Not very popular for aftermarket parts, either. Sure, a 1 or 2JZ would be an expected swap. Mk IIIs eventually got 1Js so that's a boring swap and 2Js...well a 2J in a Supra isn't going to surprise anyone either. A 350 is a cheap, powerful and more unique swap that can actually improve the car's handling. An LS would be even better with an aluminum block and heads dropping weight.
@casebutler umm a supra has an inline 6 and is rwd? "faggy" by no means do some research instead of commenting like an idiot...your talking to a guy who modifies "4 bangers" to put down more power than said v8s...y did we do this for fun...to be different, to say hell, y not...
there is this dead mk3 supra at this gas station just dying to be engine swap i smell 5.3l and t56 swap cooking in my mind but i need fucking money : (
If brains were needed to understand why a 350 is in a rice maker. Half of you don't go to the track. You probably freeway roll or street race with a suspended license.

That was a nice supra!
thats from the intercooler...this was pre twin turbo setup, just setting the carb. up n/a
haha nice!! all it needs are some rpg's on the top, two sub machine guns on the hood, the tombstone on the back, and a ticket to death race.
Cool and creative, is that a 302? Idk but I would of loved to see a 2jz gte swap instead. None the less very cool.
@jokerman801 for a carb'd v8 there is much to do at all, keep whats there and run an ignition wire to the starter, and 3 to the distributor, thats it
@STInaruto all different motor, this had a tt setup on it before we sold it..this was a video for the guy who purchased it from us
how did you get the electrical for the 350 to work with the supra... that is exactly what i want to do to mine
You put a mustangs engine and you also change the chased to suppose the weight of the engine
I have a question if u can reply back... Is that just the intercooler for show or is it turbo, procharges? or wat? i hav a project of my own and i want to know... thanks
@vr4ish the lights, a running car, everything about it? its just a motor swap
nope, just another separate build. this i actually posted for my dad, he built this in tandem when i was building my crx
is that a twin turbo kit off ebay and do u have it working yet if soo do they help that much and is it worth it...
lol poor thing my jdm1jz supra would anialate any 350 n/a engine ive built 450hp n/a 350's cant get much more without going forced induction. props on who ever said fuck it lets swap the headers around feed the pipes out frontwards lol. this car is a toyota camaro! :o but i am not a lover of beef in my rice. plus my car makes 400hp with stock twins and i can handle 700 with a turbo and some supporting mods less then this swaap costs for shure

@skaterboy22ify this was startup and tuning of the motor at n/a before the tt setup went on
isnt that unconnected tube and intake or somthing?
ya but how much more is the cost? think about it. its nice to have an engine that they have parts available in every parts store and not to mention much cheaper. stock head gasket for a 350=$20, stock head gasket for a 7m=$60, catch my drift? lets be honest 7ms aren't to on the light side either. mk3 supras weigh like 3600lbs so i dont really think it matters.
