AoMM version minion changes (the 1.3.5 minions, at least):
Slime Staff: Baby slimes are faster. They now use custom I-frames and will fly up to continuously attack flying enemies.
Hornet Staff: Hornets move faster, and will stay near a target to make it harder to miss shots.
Imp Staff: Imps move faster, fire faster, have contact damage, and use custom I-frames. After summoning more than 3, they will move in a circle, quickly firing flaming tridents that do more damage than listed. The tridents can do critical hits for some unknown reason.
Spider Staff: Spiders move faster, use custom I-frames, and will fly up to continuously attack flying enemies.
Pirate Staff: Pirates move faster and have custom I-frames. After using up a certain number of minion slots, a ship is summoned, firing cannonballs, spawning parrots and pirates that attack with melee.
Optic Staff: Retinamini lasers no longer pierce. Spazmini starts off firing cursed flames that inflict cursed inferno, then aggressively charging at its target. All of these attacks have custom I-frames.
Pygmy Staff: Pygmies are more accurate and throw spears faster. If an enemy is high up, they will fly up to them.
Deadly Sphere Staff: Red spheres quickly charge at enemies, orange spheres latch on to enemies, releasing sparks, and blue spheres fire a stream of blue flames. All of these attacks have custom I-frames.
Raven Staff: Ravens move much faster. When charging at enemies, they will light up and release sparks that inflict the on fire debuff. All of these attacks have custom I-frames.
Tempest Staff: Sharknadoes are faster and stay closer to enemies to increase their chances of hitting an enemy. After using up a certain number of minion slots, the Sharknadoes turn into a single, larger one. The larger one inflicts heavy damage, and can be powered up even futher with more minion slots. This of course, has custom I-frames as well.
Xeno Staff: UFOs no longer need to be positioned above the target to attack them.
Stardust Cell Staff: Cells fire much faster, but due to how they no longer detonate all at once, it relies solely on its debuff.
Stardust Dragon Staff: Stardust dragon does more damage and moves faster, but only its head segment can damage enemies.

Pirate Staff summons these in order:
1. Mini Corsair (Melee attackers)
2. Mini Deadeye (Ranged attackers that fire bullets)
3. Parrot (Flying melee attackers)
4. Mini Dutchman (Flying ranged attackers; The cannonballs fired do more damage than listed in the stats)
Tempest Staff sharknadoes become the single large one after up 4 minion slots.

A mod that turns Summoner from a "summoner" into "Commander" fantastic, finally my minions will save me from a boss instead of attacking a random slime off screen

After playing deltarune chapter 2 the word commander gives me chills
After playing Tower Defense Simulator the word "commander" makes me think that this class will be super meta.

that's why whips exist in Terraria. When you hit an enemy with a whip your minions will attack the whipped enemy.
Elephant in the room is, how does this balance out with Whips in mind?

@Shyguymask It'll be insane. I did try it out for a short time. The Rod of the Ratkeeper + Snapthorn combo got really far.

I like there are some mundane minions (for example a slime in a minecart or train) and *a literal Tree guardian throwing it’s own kind*
I mean are the trees also tree spirits? If not then its totally okay to toss them.

I am having a hard time believing that this sort of hight quality content with such volume of things it adds to the game is free
i love the way their attacks are so coordinated
I personally always have this in the modpacks that I play in with friends. It's such a nice content and convenience mod!
...Also, we've made a joke about how it is inevitable that at least one person in each playthrough always returns to summoner. This mod is just that good.

This video is really well made and I love the way all of the information is so well put together. I agree, the Amulet of Many Minions is a MUST have for anyone who likes playing as a summoner. Not only is it, in my opinion, the best summoner mod on the entire mod browser, but the sprites are all adorable and well done along with them having great AI.
This mod really expands the summoner class quite well, really love their effort

I love everything except for combat pets. I feel that should stay a vanity item as I don’t want to choose the viability of my pets when I just want them because they’re cute.
I feel like as a summoner, you should be able to max out everything. You could also do this in previous versions of the game, such as having a werewolf pet that damages enemies while also having a horde of say...pygmy minions for example.

Werewolf is from old console version, and old console version only. The console version doesn't have any content past the mech bosses. (Except Ocram)
This mod looks like so much fun, when 1.4 comes out of alpha for tmodloader, I am definitely playing this

There's nothi g wrong with playing the beta now, it has the essentials such as cheat sheet and recipe browser, haven't seen any bugs for myself

Well, as of its buffs, it's become downright overpowered. Arguably a better melee class than the actual melee class and not even by a little bit.

@@keironroberts6163 Think this would be a hella-useful framework for other mods to use, since the main critique of the summoner class is that the minions do all the work, and you do nothing but dodging (Not true anymore with the whips from Journey's end, but you get my point). I always envisioned the summoner to be an army leader of sorts, that used buffing items (like Thoriums banners and spellbooks) and command items (Like in this mod) to aid and guide their armies. Essentially micromanaging.
It's why I have always been drawn to the class, only to be somewhat disappointed by the framework that Re-Logic made for it. Like the main combat classes all seem well fleshed out and work well on their own, but summoner has always been somewhat lacking, even after the journey's end update.

The sprite work of this mod is beautiful, and the weapons and summons are really fun to use.
Another mod that should be looked into is the summoner association mod
The main thing it adds is a way to remember and re-summon every minion in the same order in one click, which is so convenient it completely changed the way I played calamity summoner
It’s a small mod, so you don’t have to worry about balance at all (except this glass cannon mechanic which is broken but sucks at the same time)

I'm using this mod right now and anybody how do I equip more than 1 combat pet? Starting from the Spectre Emblem allows you to have more pets but do I put my other pets? There is only 1 slot..

I'm not sure if they tell you but you don't have to have the squire equipped to use their special they just have to out. So you can use their special while using a whip.
Honestly, this should be added to the baseline version of the game. It's absolutely fantastic!
