The only thing that was different for me is that the jailbreak process failed twice because windows defender was blocking it, a notification popped up saying is a potential virus so I had to "allow to device" before it could finish the jailbreak process. Is now jailbroken and working great! Thanks again👍🏻

Still works October 2022 for the first gen iPad mini! The UI for the 3U program changed a bit, and I had to disable my anitvirus a few times. I also had to choose "Phoenix" for my first gen ipad mini (saw that in another video). But once I had the Phoenix app installed, everything was exactly as shown! Thank you so much!
Ah yea I haven't touched it in awhile so I wasn't sure what changed, but thanks for the update comment! I want to research a different way to jailbreak that doesn't require your antivirus to be turned off because I don't believe that should be necessary.

Hi, after jailbreak your ipad mini 1, is it available to download apps again?
You would have to head into the purchased section of the app store and try to download from there as that's the only process I know to get lower versions of apps.

some help since in the middle i jailbreak it just ends with a error then i redo it again and then it says "downloading config file" and nothing else then i see no profile or config file i deleted phenix after it was installed and also it didn't finish jailbreaking

My Ipad is currently experiencing activation lock, could I install this software if I cant access the settings?
I don't believe so since you would need to approve the device management to install the phoenix app

Thank you for this tutorial. Even though I have jailbroken the iPad 2, it is seemingly impossible to install any apps like an updated web browser and an adblocker. I used a newer device to log into my Apple account and add these apps to my iTunes account, but when I try to install the apps through the app store on the iPad 2, it still tells me that the apps are too new for the iPad 2, and the apps do not install. How can I get older versions of Firefox or Opera and an adblocker, and what versions of those apps would be compatible with the iPad 2?
Have you tried going into the purchased section of the app store and try downloading the apps on those pages? It should pop up a message saying to try to download the latest compatible app version
Hey, when i run the jailbreak on 3u when it gets to Verifying the downloaded files it fails then it just says jailbreak failed.

Hmm the only reason I could think is that phoenix is down? Or that you might not have enough storage space so that could also be a reason.

So I'm not 100% sure what restrictions activation lock has bit it seems it may stop you since you don't have access to the iCloud account, but it's worth a try!

It says "installing phoenix jailbreak tool" and "elapsed time 00:00:17" both in red and it stops. Or is there a way to make RUclips working on my iPad? So 3utools may not help with the RUclips problem but I'm not 100% sure. But for jailbreaking, I'm not sure, you could try another method of mine that doesn't rely on the 3utools servers: ruclips.net/video/VaiMyEzgANg/видео.html

Hmm the 3uTools is telling you that? that may be on their side and I'm not sure how to fix it. Do you have an anti virus? Maybe disable that temporarily and see if it fixes it. i had some trouble at first, but after i realize i had to install a profile and device manager first i was able to successfully jailbreak my ipad.

*Personal Notes to Self:*
- Turn off Automatic update of date and time in iPad 2 Mini (if necessary)
- If you haven't switched on your iPad in a while, make sure you manually adjust the date and time to current date/time. If not, nothing will work (including any of the apps you're going to download, this happens more frequently than we think)
- In WIFI - Click forget device and reconnect to your wifi (if you haven't used ipad in a while). Make sure your device connects to the net. Try connecting to a fresh website on ios safari (try not to use chrome). A wifi network connection is required.
- On PC, before installing, its preferable to disable your antivirus software, else your installation will halt. In Windows defender (which can't be closed), temporarily uncheck the 'Real Time Protection' checkbox.
- I can't confirm this, but its better to set your Auto lock to off, for me I found the jailbreak failed when the ipad went to standby mode. Set ipad lock back to defaults after everything is done.

Stuck on the Phoenix app, i click Kickstart jailbreak and it restarts my ipad but Cydia does not appear and when I click the Phoenix app it says my ipad isn't jailbroken again
Hmm I have had that problem a few times, but doing the Jailbreaking process 2 - 3x usually ends up with a successfully jailbroken device!

Yea so if you have the order iPad, you can actually head into your app store and go to "purchased apps" and you can try installing any of those apps and it should let you install an order compatible version! There are also a lot of tweaks from Cydia and other packages you can add to tweak your iPad!

You have to download it on a windows machine and then do the jailbreak process. You may have to turn off your antivirus temporarily if you run into other problems.

It won't let me download the 3u tool. I click download and it looks like its going to start but just stays on the 3u.com page
So i'm not sure what browser you are using, but if it's chrome, you can check the spot next to the url with the exclamation mark (and the not secure) and try clicking on that and seeing it it blocked your download by going into site settings and going down till you see the "automatic downloads". I just verified that I was able to download when clicking the button.

If my iPad is outdated and when I try to update it says “already up to date” after I jailbreak it will I be able to download apps that said I couldn’t download them bc i needed a update? Or will I still not be able to download anything?
Nah jailbreaking only lets you download mods and tweaks, but the app store only lets you download apps that are compatible with your iOS version, a workaround would be to go into the app store and go to the purchased section, and there you can download apps you've already downloaded, but it lets you choose the latest compatible version

Does the phoenix app stay when it resets.
The phoenix app will stay on your device but the jailbreak will have to be redone within the phoenix app everytime you restart your device.

You could try turning off your antivirus if you have one or the windows defender (though I didn't have to turn mine off, but others have mentioned the same problem and turning off the antivirus helped)

Hmm maybe try searching for the phoenix app? Maybe it installed without that section? Another attempt of jailbreaking with the tool may fix any inconsistencies as well. Having an anti virus also caused some other people some problems so it could be that tOo? Can you try to temporarily turn off your antivirus? Other commenters have said that has solved their problems!
Didn't work for me. I go to the download screen on the mini and it wants to open in Google drive. Do that and cannot proceed from there. No ability to open the exe file or anything.
So you'll have to download and run the program on your computer instead of your mini since iOS has no way of opening an exe file

Sometimes that happens and usually an antivirus is the culprit, so other people have found success temporarily turning it off to run the jailbreak

Cydia is doownloaded on my ipad.
Hmm so there's a few different repos that you can search up to add to your Cydia that may introduce new apps / tweaks, but if you go into the apple app store, and go the the "purchased" tab, you should see a list of apps you've installed and you can try to install any of those and it will give you an option to download the last compatible version (if it has one). To get those apps, you may have to search them up and install them from a newer idevice and then download with the above method.
Am I able to install apps which my iPad was unable to install on because the model was old?
You'll have to do the workaround where you head into the app store, go to the purchased section, and you'll be allowed to install those apps that you've bought or installed on another idevice.

Hmm even using the search doesn't yield it? I know when it installed on mine it sometimes puts it in a random folder? Not sure why, but if you still can't find it, try turning off and on your iPad and running phoenix again to see if it puts it on the home screen

Hmm are you able to do a hard reset? What happens when you hold the power button for 15+ seconds to attempt a hard reset?

What do you mean it's not enabled? You may have to do the Phoenix process, restart, and do it again as sometimes it takes a few tries to get it!

You can head into the app store and then to the "purchased" section and find share it ( it must have been installed from another idevice with the same apple account) and download it, and it should prompt you to download the latest compatible version it hasp

I’ve done all the steps but what do you mean by semi tethered? Idky I assumed this would allow me to update my computer
So semi tethered just means if your iPad turns off, you'll have to run the phoenix app to jailbreak again. And Jailbreaking won't let you update the iPad version sadly.

To watch youtube, you'll have to head into the app store, then the purchased section, and you should be able to download that latest compatible RUclips version that should work.

Potentially! I think it will auto detect the version and apply whatever is available, but on the note of you not being able to install apps on that version, if you head into the app store, and then the purchased section, you can then select one of the apps from that list. If it has an older compatible version, it should ask you if you want to download it. I'm not sure why apple didn't include this on the main pages but the work around is there (the purchased section includes any app you have downloaded, free or paid)
