I appreciate the idea of telling your viewers the potential cost of the discs. It doesn’t work for international people like myself, but it is appreciated. I love the Tursas. I am not sure how many i have purchased since that Trilogy Challenge in 2021? 22? I think they have played with the flight numbers since its original release as it is now -2/1 on turn and fade. The Tursas is the midrange I recommend to newer players. That being said, I was playing a very long and wooded course a few weeks back and joined a player that could easily throw over 350’. He threw his Tursas in the woods amazingly well. It was his go to disc. I was shocked and very impressed. I think of all of the discs you mentioned today, perhaps the only one I have not heard of is the Bobcat. Thanks for the content.
My favorite disc that no one talks about is unfortunately out of production at this moment, the Discraft Impact. There was a tournament special released last season, but normal production from what I understand has stopped. It is a fantastic mid-range disc that can point and shoot with the best of them. It has glide for days and is very beginner friendly. I have been playing disc golf for most of my life and I still find a place in my bag for some. Every time I throw one I am surprised by how much glide and distance they get even after all these years. Great video Swanky!! You earned a new sub today! Keep up the great work!
Tursas are an extremely fun disc, glad to see it mentioned here. Even weak arms can do silly things with them. Pilots are great putting putters too. Good list overall.
One hundred percent agree on the pine. Been my favorite for years a much better verdict. And the gatekeeper is a straight compliment that never gets mentioned at all
As popular as MVP/axiom is currently, I still feel like there are some underrated and underutilized discs from their lineup. Stabilizer is a much more controllable overstable approach disc. The ohm gained some popularity from the 2023 OTB special editions but quickly faded out of the spotlight. A super straight flyer whose characteristics fit right between the proxy and envy. The matrix has gotten a bit more love with Simon bagging it towards the end of the 2023 season but is still very much off the radar when talking about MVP's stellar midrange lineup. A bit less glide and a tad more overstable than the reactor (unless you throw eclipse), the matrix is a great stable to overstable disc that would fit in your typical roc3 slot. The echo is also another great straight laser beam disc that should not be overlooked. Relay is an incredible understable fairway driver that I think is better suited to most amatuer players' bags than a crave - especially for those who play wooded golf. The inertia also falls in the same category of a slightly more controllable and understable disc as the relay, except it's a 9 speed. I think lower arm speed players, or for those who throw nose up, will be able to control this disc a lot easier than the insanity, which can run a bit more stable than the numbers suggest.
Anything by TSA i have thrown i have fallen in love with! Praxis has become my favorite throwing putter! The stamps are always a great extra but the flight of these disc are amazing!
I don't have a disc that's underrated because the disc's I'm about to mention are definitely talked about but a plastic that I don't see many talk about or throw is Pro plastic from Innova specifically their high speed drivers. You see plenty of people with Pro Rocs and Pro plastic putters but not the drivers. I've tried the Boss, Destroyer, and Shryke in Pro and they are all bombers. All of them have been super pop top with a ton of glide. They feel similar to Star but less stable. Good for medium speed arms(300ft-400ft). I've been bagging a Pro Boss for a couple months now and it constantly goes 20-30ft further than my other drivers.
Totally with you on the pilot. Awesome disc. In premium plastic it does not turn but just barely fades. It will fight out and land flat on an anhyzer. It does have a microbead though. Not sure why your hands couldn’t feel that.
Dynamic Disc Culprit is great but Westside Harp does it better for me. Remix Discs Creature is probably my fav understable midrange that not many people know about. Its flight number is Speed 5 | Glide 5 | Turn -3 | Fade 1 and $12 disc made by MVP
Great list. All Clash is underrated but the Berry is such a perfectly straight mid I'm surprised more people don't bag it. I think the Maverick is really slept on, comes in a gazillion plastics, affordable, and useful for beginners to pros needing a hyzerflip woods carver. Kastaplast Järn is a prettier better feeling Zone/A2. Lonestar Discs Spur is a 9 speed Thunderbird/PD type that is really nice.
❤ all the prodigy love. As you said, all their flippy fairways are 🔥 speaking on flippy discs, gotta shout out the Discraft stratus. Slower flying mid, but just effortless 240-270 ft hyzer flips when thrown at lower speeds
I would add the Innova Wedge to the list. Out of production at the moment but according to some people at Innova, it may be coming back. At 3.5/3/-3/1 it's a midrange/putter hybrid. I use it as a forehand mid and also as a putter. If your bag space is limited, it's one to look at.
The pilot is amazing been throwing it for years and I think it is better than any envy I’ve thrown. The runway is a super under appreciated overstable mid. They are super money mids
Completely agree. Then again, I believe that most Westside discs deserve a mention. Stag, Bear, Warship, Maiden, Pine. Oh my, I have just described my bag.
Westside Disc Swan 1 undead It's a great putter for me. It's similar to a pure but it goes straighter for longer. It's not for throwing, it's like a more understable fuse.
Almost all of Mint's molds are worth throwing. Lobster is incredible if you can find it, the new Taco is sweet, and a perfectly seasoned diamondback is 🧑🏼🍳💋
Some more underrated Prodigy molds for you. H3v2 and H4v2. H4 is a somewhat flippy 10 speed that's easy to throw. H3 is like a controllable 11 speed that for mot of us amateurs will fly dead straight with fade at the end. It's reputation is that its flippy but that's not true unless you have quite a lot of power or you've beat the disc up a lot.
I compare S line plastic more to Discraft ESP. Quite a bit more stiff on the flight plate than Star plastic. I agree it's nice though, I got a a new S line FD recently and it's just a beauty to hold and throw.
I bag a lustre invader for straight approaches. The disc is a laser within 200 feet. Always a shot to throw it in if I’m anywhere within 150 feet that I can throw it flat towards the basket
@sthmck There's a few for sure. Mostly the lower speed stuff. The atlas, nova, avatar, animal and xero come to mind. The "IT" is honestly a solid flippy fairway, but who's going to throw an "IT"?? Can't go wrong with an animal names imo...
The infinite Roman. A better PD. This PD slot has taken out other discs out of my bag. I blend for less stability and other plastics for reliable stability. Also the infinite sphinx is sick in halo nice flip glide and distance.
It must be a very old run of Tursas you threw or something. A newer Tursas is not *that* understable. It behaves pretty much like the 5/5/-2/1 it is, not -3/1. Was the old Circuit challange run -3/1? Another old approach disc is the L64 Sinus (2/2/0/2). I occationaly put it in my bag but quickly pull it out again bc it is deep as hell and doesn't fit my hands. The numbers says it's not that deep but it feels really deep. Yes, the Invader, I threw my brothers Lustre Invader when I was compltely new a few years ago and I toyed with the idea to get one but in the got a few Tombs (3/4/0/1). They also have a bit of unique handfeel, feels very blocky in my hand but I like it.
I have a stack of Sinus that I throw when I am practice putting. It is far too deep, but I love throwing it. I am looking forward to the its upcoming release in Opto (minus the thumb grips)
Westside getting a lot of love in the comments but I'm a huge fan of the Warship. It's my favorite straight midrange and flies further for me than anything else.
Vanguard is my go to overstable control type driver, feels phenomenal in the hand. Edit: Also love the Tursas, both wife and I have bagged one for several years now, and almost every time we throw it we ask each other why we throw anything besides it because it’s so good. 😂
Aviar3 needs to get more love. It predates the Envy and fills the same slot perfectly. This disc will NEVER leave my bag. I have had more throw ins with this disc than I think should be allowed.
definitely disagree on the DGA stamps. that's one of my favorite parts, they're super clean. most my bag is DGA cuz I love the PL plastic. to me it's like Ti and esp or big z, somewhere in there
I’m big on the deflector from MVP. Definitely not a disc I would recommend for anyone since it’s justice levels of stability, but it is literally a further version of your os 4 speed approach disc. Also my favorite feeling mid of all time
Is all prodigy out sourced to china? I read that their Active line was made by Yikun discs which is in China. I assumed the rest of their discs were made elsewhere.
Mvp ohm is way better than pilot. I have had two pilots in neutron and proton plastic and both were very stable. Ohm is same mold and and very straight.
The invader is the only Innova disc I own. Everything else is MVP/Axiom, low glide approach discs aren’t something that really gels with their technology.
Yikun GUI putter in tiger plastic 💵 for putting and throwing. Sensei like but plastic is grippy but ages like KC pro plastic. Flies between enchant proxy in stability
IME the Roach tends to be neutral/dead straight whereas Pilots usually have a bit of overstability to them. I've had some Neutron Pilots that were borderline beefy.
@eoghana315 right on... out of curiosity, do the putt anymore overstable like even slightly. I love putting and throwing my roaches my putt miss is just slightly pulled right tho smh
most of what lonestar makes is money. bravo plastic, and bravo glow are the best plastics on the market, period. do not knock it until you try it. the glow is brighter and longer lasting than any other glow, and basically every disc they make comes in glow plastic, with only 2 exceptions.
Have you tried any Yikun discs? They are based in China, so maybe if you are avoiding non US manufacturers that makes sense but they have some quality stuff.
Westside Maiden. Best throwing putter of all time
I appreciate the idea of telling your viewers the potential cost of the discs. It doesn’t work for international people like myself, but it is appreciated. I love the Tursas. It's great that Tursas gets some love too! That was my go-to mid-range when I started, namely because it's cheap and widely available in Finland.
Tursas are an extremely fun disc, glad to see it mentioned here. Even weak arms can do silly things with them. Pilots are great putting putters too. Good list overall.
Westside Pine is underrated. Matty O is resurrecting it. Infinite discs Centurion also underrated. It is what I wanted the new FD and Brave to be.
I love the Centurion. It has a leopard bottom and flies a lot like one. A touch more stable
I believe they turned the old FD into the Hawkeye.
@@ericjepson3765 Yep, I have a Halo Hawkeye. Liked the Centurion better. Bag a Halo and Swirly-S.
One hundred percent agree on the pine. Been my favorite for years a much better verdict. And the gatekeeper is a straight compliment that never gets mentioned at all
Pine!

Westside is fire af. My bag is 80 percent WS. I have a -3 tursas from 2011 ish been bagging it since go get a tursas
DDs Warden. Overstable putter 2-4-0-0,5. It is a bit deep but it is a great putter in my mind. Reliable. Thank you for sharing as always!
Crazy, the top 2 have both been in my bag for a minute 🤣 also, the remix disc golf Battleship is a bobcat and SUPER cheap on Amazon. So good.
L64 diamond is MASSIVELY underrated when talking about best beginner discs.
I started playing about a year ago and bought a matty o anti because it had a cool stamp and fell in love with it. my go to forehand disc.
Have you heard of the Destroyer? It goes far! It’s a nice distance driver! Nobody talks about it! It’s great!
Anything by TSA i have thrown i have fallen in love with! Praxis has become my favorite throwing putter! The stamps are always a great extra but the flight of these disc are amazing!

Just stumbled into the Invader myself this month. Awesome! Does anything you want it to.
Westside Adder in VIP plastic. Overstable pop-top UFO looking like 13 speed distance driver. Absolutely incredible. Nothing like it.
Latitude64 claymore and sinus is so good
Yes, show the F9 love. I throw mine all the time. It is a less touchy Underworld and it is sooooo good.
Westside Discs Gatekeeper, stupidly easy to use overstable disc that'll fade cleanly. Also Prodigy discs need more love these days.
WESTSIDE STAG
Completely agree. Then again, I believe that most Westside discs deserve a mention. Stag, Bear, Warship, Maiden, Pine. Oh my, I have just described my bag.
I love the pilot for a throwing putter I keep that in the bag just for that
Westside Disc Swan 1 undead
It's a great putter for me. It's similar to a pure but it goes straighter for longer. It's not for throwing, it's like a more understable fuse.
I've got an underrated disc that I've not heard any youtubers or folks talking about...
Have you heard about the Pig?
Pigs don't fly...
@@SwankyDiscGolf you right. They soar beyond our wildest dreams 😍😍😍
Wait a second, i just need to clear the bile from my throat. 😮 Ah, much better. So funny Robbie. You are so funny.😂
I have a decent arm like 400 feet of power and I love throwing the archer
I love the bobcat!
The gateway warlock as a throwing putter- and the Lat64 musket
I've been throwing a Tursas for 11 years. Only disc that has never come out of the bag.
Almost all of Mint's molds are worth throwing. Lobster is incredible if you can find it, the new Taco is sweet, and a perfectly seasoned diamondback is 🧑🏼🍳💋

I bag a lustre invader for straight approaches. The disc is a laser within 200 feet. Always a shot to throw it in if I’m anywhere within 150 feet that I can throw it flat towards the basket
I'm sad the invader doesn't get much love. You really can power up on it and throw a laser between 200 and 250 feet.
It's because the name is a little goofy I think. It's Innovas best throwing putter and is slowly knocking the Envy out of my bag.
Goofy names are probably a reason why a lot of Innova discs aren't thrown regularly.
The Roman is actually the old PD mold. You are throwing a PD!
Time for an update om How your Lore is working out!? I bought a Lore 2.0 recently and I love it. Really good bag
M4 is extremely underrated
The RPM Tui. It is excellent an straight to slightly floppy throwing putter that litteraly no one talks about.
I love floppy putters.

@@bakerby Yeah, I will most likely also pick up the opto one if only to try it out. Who knows, it might even be a bit more slender :)
Love my culprit!
DGA Vortex... Trust Me. Awesome Under-stable FlipUp Fairway Driver.
The XT invader is fantastic
I don’t bag it any more but I love the Culprit. More overstable than a Zone, and just doesn’t really care about the wind.
Is that hole 16 at yahoola creek?
Hammer Chui by Yikun. Shallower than most. Starts out Overstable but beats in to stable. Down fall is that it’s only in a basic plastic.
Westside getting a lot of love in the comments but I'm a huge fan of the Warship. It's my favorite straight midrange and flies further for me than anything else.
In my opinion the hatchet and the gatekeeper from west side discs are very good but underrated
Vanguard is my go to overstable control type driver, feels phenomenal in the hand. Edit: Also love the Tursas, both wife and I have bagged one for several years now, and almost every time we throw it we ask each other why we throw anything besides it because it’s so good. 😂

Uh, the pilot has a big bead on it my dude. I use pilots for putting. It’s basically just a PA3 but seems to be glidier, I love it
The prodigy distortion wow it pushes a bit more than the zone fore me and still very stable
Streamline Ascend and Westside Warship
The special Edition Pilots are absolutely sick to throw.
Idio shoes would be great if they made a wide version. Literally could see the side of your foot bulging through the shoe

F9 is great. Like a max weight Diamond.
Yikun GUI putter in tiger plastic 💵 for putting and throwing. Sensei like but plastic is grippy but ages like KC pro plastic. Flies between enchant proxy in stability
Gotta mention the disc mania origin. Dead straight midrange that goes really far with minimal effort
How about the Maul from Latitud 64
The hellfire sounds very similar to the Innova star monster 10,3,0,4 beefcake
I miss Danny 😢
Us too 😓
Trespass is the people’s driver. It will be your furthest flying disc. That and the vanish for flip up straight lines.
The Legacy Badger is a sleeper.
how does the pilot compare to a roach?
IME the Roach tends to be neutral/dead straight whereas Pilots usually have a bit of overstability to them. I've had some Neutron Pilots that were borderline beefy.
@eoghana315 right on... out of curiosity, do the putt anymore overstable like even slightly. I love putting and throwing my roaches my putt miss is just slightly pulled right tho smh
