43+ years sitting in a Texas garage, a 1954 Austin-Healey 100-4 finds a new lease on life with Street Machines. Enjoy the video tour of this special classic car - Sam
I was watching the film To Dorothy a Son when Shelley Winters drove up in the AH 100 ! It is a Black and White film so the colour looked just grey . I ran outside and checked the Plates . It was the same car ! The Log Book showed the colour Beige . It was now Red and Black ! As a Right Hand drive car , I found the Stick placed on the Left a little awkward .
Are you in lubbock ??? Buddy Holley ordered 2 Austin Healeys from when he toured the Austin Factory not far from me . I wonder if this was one of his ??? Just a guess my friend thank you
Ah, brings back memories of my '55 BN-4 which I bought from a wrecking yard with front end damage. Car was too much fun to drive... then. By today's standards, driving it might be considered a bit of chore as the car is quite heavy for its size and guessing the front/rear balance approaches 80/20. When it spins it doesn't stop for awhile. One thing for sure, all the wheel brake cylinders needed rebuild/replacement. Seems I was rebuilding one every month or so.
I had a '54. My dad pulled it out of a junk yard. I could never use valet parking as they never knew how to start it with the electric fuel pump. lol...
These side curtain are not from this car, they were used from January 1955 on and neither is the top, Healey Blue Austin-Healey top did not come in red. The seats are not original either, wrong pattern.
After it sat for 35 years with the valve cover , dis. cap . bad gas in tank with rust and not being greased in 35 years and it started & runs !
No lol pushed with the lawnmower
Don't over restore it. It is a survivor. Naturel patina. Beautiful.
Don’t rag it you are speaking about 100.000 us or more after a good restoration 👍😉🇳🇱🇪🇺
Lol familiar with them. That was the lawn mower engine
This was my grandfathers car. I'm 38 and it was garage kept and never ran as far as I can remember. DM me if you have questions
Why didn't he give it to you then ??
Interesting. It went to Belgium we sold it quickly at the time
TKE, Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. 1971. I truly hope that the previous owner did not fall in Vietnam.
I had two of these . One was featured in the Movie To Dorothy a Son. , driven by Shelley Winters .
Thanks for sharing Jimmy! I will check out that movie. Clint Eastwood owned one too in his early film days. Enjoy the channel!

Great memories, I appreciate your comment & would be honored if you would subscribe to the Samspace81 Classic Car channel.
Very nice, I wish mine still had the original motor... your car looks like it was stored well
Remember, you are merely custodians, not owners, and the new owners will take care of it.
So their kids can retire in comfort...
Have a 54. Hal Holbrook original owner. He said the car represented freedom to him when he was a young man. Carmine red.
Beautiful Chris! I'd like to see it. Thanks for the comment and enjoy the channel.

is this car finished?
+Christian Kramer I have no idea, we sold it too soon, I think it ended up overseas and is currently being built.
That is amazing, sat for 40 years and ran after all that time!!
I miss my 58 BN6
That was the lawnmower pulling it around, it didn't run. Thanks for checking it out, I doubt I'll find another like this. Enjoy the channel.
