Hi Hugh, The tyres i fitted were Avon ZZ 175/70x15, (was 185/70x15) soft. They explained to me if you fit the hard compoud they will perish before you can wear them out. I bought them from Dennis Welch Motorsport at a very good price and a first class outfit to deal with. As they do racing stuff their parts are all very good quality and i have bought lots of parts from them over the years. (three healeys!). Hope this helps. Regards, David.
freaking cool car !!! i have had a Porsche 356 and a 912 and a 914 and Jag XKE's and Corvettes and MG's and all Triumphs except the GT6 and of all the cars i have had there are 2 cars that imo are cooler than all of them and that is an Austin Healey and the Triumph GT6 the 2 cars i always wanted and never had
Hi Anne You sound like a very interesting lady. Glad to have you here - thanks for your input. I've been following Elin Yakov's 'Rusty Beauties' - He's into Triumphs Take care Hugh
Hi Hugh, Always good to see them on some wheels. I fitted a new set of 72 spokers to my BT7 as it is cheaper than trying to refurb the original 40 spokers. Also i found a variation here (U.K.) of £80-00 per tyre for Avon ZZ so it is worthwhile shopping around. Am i seeing things right. You have not fitted the outer cills?. Will you weld them on and respray this area? regards, David.
Hi David Been looking at CR6ZZ tyres by Avon but unfortunately can't get them in Oz - so might have to discuss importing them closer to completion date. What size tyre are you looking at? - for me I thought 185/70R15 (15" Rim) any thoughts? I considered the sills as part of the outer panel work so I could make minor adjustments before I plug weld them in place. I also have 72 spoke wheels as the originals are in preparation for filling and blocking the outer panels. Thanks for your input Hugh
I've been following all your video updates from day one, the car is looking awesome, great work and thanks for taking the time to share. I'm currently replacing the rear brakes in my 56-100. can you give me any hints/tricks to installing the brake cylinders: the order of assembly of installing the sliding/locking plates without mashing up the rubber gasket that fits over the parking brake lever? I could contact you by e mail or phone if you have some info you could share. Thanks
Hi Mark For the life of me I can't remember. I know it was fidley and had issues with the sliders as well. Luckily for me I had the complete rear axle assembly on a bench - so no climbing underneath the car. Although you can remove the whole assembly. mossmotoring.com/pint-size-project-rear-brakes-reassembly/ Moss Motors put out a blurb on how to fit the piston etc. p.s. use a little WD40 on the rubber gasket to make it slippery so you can prize it out. Hope this helps Hugh
Hey Richard How's the nursery business? Not so simple getting it down from the rotisserie - should make another video to repair with a little welding Take care Hugh
Hi Lin Good to hear from you. It's the back end so not an onerous job to repair. My silly fault for not thinking it through. Just glad it wasn't the front end - it'll make another video lol Take care Hugh
