Michael, I just love your program of Word of Mouth on radio BBC4! Today you were talking about multilingualism and possible multiple personalities: maybe one per language. I am trilingual (Spanish, French and English), and love to venture with three miore languages (Italian, Portuguese and German) which I listen through radio and podcasts. In fact, I listen with great curiosity to any language snywhere (trains, shops, etc). I do not think that I change my personality at all, but other people may perceice that curious change. A little French girl friend os ours, told me many years ago that I changed my voice and body language when I switched to ant of the three languages. So, perhaps, in trying to accommodate to the other language culture, one does change part of our performance giving the perception of a deeper change. Mmmm...I still think that the personality is too derp in ourselves. It is the same peras on eith a different uniform! Thank you. Teresa Johnson (Rodríguez P, Spanish MFL teacher)
From context it seems this clip is referring to the practice of MI5 vetting prospective employees at the bbc for any connection to socialism or general left wing politics/activism, and give them a black mark if they were. Went on from the 30s well into the 90s (that we know of). Hardly surprising, but disconcerting in what is supposed to be a free society
Poor Mike.
Also that picture of him in the newspaper is so weird, I love it lol
The camera loves him
Looks like a dude from Woodstock
Did you know at the beginning of the week there were 48 trainee's in the BBC, at the end of the week there were only 5 of them left
The weak ones just used to keel over and die.
Chocolate cake
Those are some powerful muttonchops!
We had a teacher who was so strict

Why did they blacklist him?
cause he wasn't a n0nce
They suspected him of being a Communist because he had very far left views.
