Watching your videos has become a regular for my daycare kids over summer break😅. I turned to 1 of your videos one morning (to listen to while I was cleaning up toys), and all the kids heard your intro music and ran to the living room to sit and quietly watch😊. Starting our morning Carpetbagger tradition. Thank you for giving me a little break in the mornings to enjoy a cup of coffee😅. Now I wish I had gone to the MD state fair this past weekend😢forgot you said you were going to be there. Would have been great to get a picture with you to show my daycare kids. Hopefully, another time.
Right up the road from me!! Im normally there 3-4 times a year, but not for the fair. I'm in a group of RUclips Model Railroaders and we have Meet & Greets at the Cow Palace in Feb, April and Oct (Great Scale Model Train Show or GSMTS). Also there at the Exhibition Hall in Oct for a Crab Feast put on by Stella Maris. Thanks for stopping in the State of Maryland for the fair!
I'm also happy to see you enjoyed our Maryland State Fair! Come back for the Christmas event " Festival of Trees" or the Maryland Seafood Festival at Sandy Point!
Love the Maryland flag! California and S Carolina are up on that cool flag list, as well 😊. I think the “blindfold” is mesh the racehorse can see through to prevent biting flies.
It helps keep the horse paying attention to only looking forward so as not to be distracted by other horses in the race. If it has mesh it also helps the horse from getting dirt kicked into its face and eyes from horses in front of them in a race.
Chick-O-Sticks! I can't believe you don't know them! So yummy... like the middle of a Clark Bar. Peanut-buttery, crunchy goodness. And the one next to them, Atkinson's peanut butter candies... also YUM
Jacob, Halloween stuff is up and already displayed on the sales floor at home Depot. Today was the day our stores set them up. Yippee! Get in there fast and you can be the first to show everything available ❤
The Wave Swinger and the YoYo are the traditional circle swings with the tilt. The new version that takes you up HIGH is the Star Flyer. Lorikeets and parakeets DO bite, and not just when provoked. State Fair 29! Thanks for taking us!
My all time favorite ride at the fair is the tilt a whirl ,it never gets old .i can ride it 3-4 times. Fairs never fail to bring us new and interesting food
Thank you so much for making it to my home state! I’ve been to the Maryland State Fair many times! The last time I went was when my older sister was a junior in college at Towson University. Me, her, and my youngest sister all went together and had fun! Towson University is not far from Timonium so a lot of college students go to the fair.
The antlers on the Wendigo are a relatively new addition. Wendigos are historically supposed to look like an emaciated corpse. Its skin taunted on its skeletal structure.
Sorry if somebody else commented this already, but the "blindfold" on the horse is actually a fly mask. They can see through the mesh material just fine, but it keeps flies away from their eyeballs. Also, the "faded" raccoon is likely leucistic. Albino animals have no pigmentation at all, resulting in red eyes and white fur, skin, or scales. Leucistic animals have less pigmentation than they're supposed to but aren't fully albino. They could be anything from a white animal with black eyes (so not fully albino) to just looking "faded."
Yay! You got to come to the MD State Fair! I want to go. I haven't been in years. We have been going to the Anne Arundel County Fair instead. We loved their laser show.
I see all these state fairs that you go to, and think how great, Michigan's State Fair used to be. There are county fairs that blow away our state fair now. Great video as usual Jake.
The undulating swing rides that usually have the ornate panels on them are typically considered "Wave Swingers". The most common at least with amusement parks is made by Zierer and is called Wave Swinger, Zamperla also makes a similar slightly smaller version, I know the ones at Knoebels and Holiday World are made by Zamperla and at a few other places. And then Chance rides also made a swing ride called Yo-Yo, not as many of those around these days, but they're about the size of a Zierer or Zamperla swing ride, but don't have the scenery panels, and look more carnival like in decoration and style. Dutch Wonderland had or still has a Yo-Yo, otherwise not sure of too many of those still at permenant amusment parks. The tower rides with the chains are usually called Starflyers and the big tower rides at the legacy Cedar Fair parks are Windseekers which were by a different company than Starflyers.
Skeletons have been everywhere except for 2 places, outer space and under the sea. Now you can check off under the sea, just waiting for them to get launched into outer space.
I don't know what else you can call the swings in English. In German, you would call this ride a "Kettenkarussell", meaning "chain carousel". Reason is, of course, the chains the seats are attached to.
The old style lower swings are just swings. The big high swings are most commonly referred to as a Star Flyer. But officially that's a brand name from a manufacturer.
Hey Jacob, i would call those swings the classic style version, but that’s a new one. Thank you so much for sharing all your amazing fun experiences ❤❤❤
13:16 These kinds of swing rides are known as Wave Swingers. They first started appearing in theme parks in 1971, but became extremely popular by the late 1970s into the 1980s.
@@billchief397 The Zumur always reminded me of Chance's Yo-Yo rides that became popular during the 1980s and 1990s. I can imagine how intense those swing rides were!
Hi! Just a bit of information to clarify what you saw at the Maryland State Fair: the political poster at the Republican booth was for Larry Hogan, the governor who preceded Wes Moore, the current governor. The "turtle" figure in the Dairy building is actually a Maryland terrapin (a variety of tortoise), and he is the mascot for the University of MD. Also, despite the fact that the midway rides do make the rounds of the East Coast, they are likely to be the safest carnival rides in the US! Maryland has some of the strictest safety regulations on the books for this type of rides, to the point that many "carnies" hate taking their equipment into MD! The safety inspectors are very well known for showing up on site, even before the rides have been completely set up......definitely NOT a bad thing! Lastly, the race track at Timonium Fairgrounds has the shortest racing season of all the tracks in Maryland - they only run horse races during the time the State Fair is open. I have to say, I was truly tickled to see your video on RUclips. I was born & raised in the Baltimore area, but I have lived in Florida for the past 19 years. I hope you enjoyed your stay!
Ever since I was a little kid, The Zipper was one of my all time favorite flat rides, along with "The Octopus", The Hurricaine, The Tilt-A whirl, The Swiss Bobs, and the Scrambler.

5:35 I had no idea those were from Lowe’s. There was a dark ride at a local county fair in Cleveland a few weeks back that had one of these as a prop inside along with a skeleton in front of a ship’s wheel. And that was it. 😂. Keep going Jacob. You‘ll get all 50 soon! Edit: the Rockin’ Out ride is a rare Wisdom Rides “Aladin”. They were themed originally as flying carpets, and the original models ran forwards and backwards. Oddly, I believe they used the base of these rides on the Gravitrons as well (the center rail section looks exactly the same!)
Loved that you stopped by the crochet booth. I got to see some of my items in your video. One of my items was a Highland cow above the Pokémon that you showed. Also, saw my grandmother’s black vest with the crocheted Granny square sleeves. I was also trying to figure out who those three guys were on the blanket. Probably relatives of whomever made the blanket.
Watch the tram ca--NO! That was yesterday! Ahem. Yes. Well, for once the state fair food didn't make me drool. Not a big fan of watermelon. The Maryland flag is pretty cool, and a very respectful tip of my hat to whoever made that Three Stooges crochet. That was just plain awesome, is wha that was.

I show my preschool students certain videos, especially the great state parks! We learn a lot of what our country has to offer!
When a 'creator' has excellent "content," you damn well bet others can benefit in knowing about it! Maybe you should explore more?????
The little girl behind you in The swinging ship was a cutie she kept smiling and waving
The goats screaming while you were looking at the "fetus" killed me. 🤣🤣🤣
You're not wrong. We love our flag and put it on EVERYTHING!!
My family went there yesterday. We had a blast seeing all the animals and eating funnel cake.
Nice to see you in my home town.
The birds love you Jacob, great job feeding; so much fun, thanks man :))
I'm a Marylander and I love the Maryland state fair. It has been decades since I was at the Maryland State faire. Great memories from my childhood.
Another State Fair to check off the list! Hope you had fun Jacob!
The trifecta Catchphrases :"Our chariot awaits" , "Dead eyes ...like a doll's eyes" and "Chaos reigns" in one video.

I TOLD you that a Carpetbagger Bobblehead was a good idea!
"like little scabs" lol!!!
You feeling bad for the kid in the Spirit plane caused me to laugh for quite a long time. 😂 It's cool they had a Cryptid display there. 😊
Those kids in the spirt plane had to pay extra tickets to get a reserved seat there and also if they had any carry on items.

Same where i live
Sad 😔. I haven't been to the state fair since it was held in Detroit. I'm planning to go this weekend. I'm curious to see what it's like these days.
For your information there is an Upper Peninsula State Fair in Escanaba, MI at the end of August.
I can’t believe I missed you. I was at the fair at the same time
😢

Skeletons have been everywhere except for 2 places, outer space and under the sea. Now you can check off under the sea, just waiting for them to get launched into outer space.
Technically there have been 100’s of skeletons in space, just inside astronauts 😁
Yes- the cavendish banana is what banana flavor is based off of! We no longer eat those.
I don't know what else you can call the swings in English. In German, you would call this ride a "Kettenkarussell", meaning "chain carousel". Reason is, of course, the chains the seats are attached to.

“The Blue Heron, the most racist bird known to man”. Lmao.
The second swings you rode are the traditional wave “swings” attraction while the first swing ride you were on is called a Star Flyer.
The ornate grandiose swings that have the rocking/wavy top are called wave swings, the others are called tower swings.
We chewed the wax bottles like gum.
Maryland is in the SOUTH! The Mason Dixon line separates PA and MD.
It's funny because in northern states say we are in the south and southern states say we are in the north.

There is a Fields of Screams in Maryland as well in Olney.
Feed corn is used to make food for animals.... that's why it's not a big deal if it's hard. it will be processed further for them to eat.
Depending on the manufacturer, they are called wave swingers or swing carousels.
My husband was a carny for years and the big ones like that he called them the Swings of Siam
Good morning Jacob
