I am brand new at this craft . Can you tell me what the point is in pricking the pattern? Can you just do the project without poking the holes through where you will put your pins anyway?
Depending on your project the paper may be too thick for your pins to go in easily. Pricking it before hand allows you to make sure you don't miss any holes and prevents the pins the hold the lace from breaking. I tried doing patterns without pricking before (when I was brand new) and found that pricking them beforehand makes the project a lot easier.
