      @@sixgoodshots Yeah agree. But these kind of comments are made only after someone like me stirs it up or slaps people reminding them hey there is dad too. Otherwise people by themselves do not talk about dads, but they keep going on about moms. I am in absolutely in love and respect of my great mom, but at the same time of my great dad too. But when I speak about one's greatness I make it a point to talk about the other as well. But most people only talk about mom and pretty much no one by themselves talk about their dad unless slapped by comments like mine.

      I wasn’t even in convent, but I get what you are saying. Literally in my college people from vernacular were avoided by convent kids. And even I thought that convent kids had better education, these days I am teaching convent school children in independently class, they are equally horrible. Teachers not taking responsibility. Bullying is normalised. Etc etc.

      I did spent few years in convent and even before that worked on my English. I would read a lot. And I was treated differently than my group as I was the only English speaking person amongst them. When I say English speaking it was expected to be prim and proper.

    As a North Indian I have lived in Chennai for fourteen years...and i can vouch that Mothers in Chennai are amazing , always put their children first and toil hard for them..

      All traditional mothers in south and west are like that, I can speak for these regions only, as that’s all I have been at. And I am so so happy that pragg’s mother is in focus as well. I think it’s beyond precious what mothers are, their role and the optimism they can bring in the children. There is no option but to toil once a woman has child.
      I like how you said it’s like normal mothers, so achievers or failures, whatever child is, mothers never stop being the best ones.

    I was at the playing hall spectating all the player in Chennai Olympiad. And saw this lady standing continuously for hours. Later I realised that she was Pragg’s mom. She is one of the example of how grounded chess parents should be.
