And here I am, sitting in my bedroom, throwing a tennis ball against the wall while the girl I'm in love with is in a hotel room taking a bubble bath and drinking champagne with another guy. Never thought I'd feel the exact same way Clark felt during this scene. Life has a way to hit you very hard at times.

It would be great if Chloe had appeared in front of Clark in that final scene. I like to imagine that she would say something like: "Why is the person who helps everyone alone? I think you need someone to help you tonight.
But Chloe, for all her aching for Clark, being in love with him from the sidelines, and despite keeping his secret and watching out for him more than anyone else outside of his parents, was rekindling her relationship with Jimmy at this point. Lana was annoying with her constant complaining about honesty and trust and playing the victim and it was clear that Chloe was stronger and less self-centered from the beginning. It would’ve been acceptable to me for the writers of the show to split Clark and Lana up early on and brought Chloe in as a serious romantic interest for Clark until the later seasons when they had to somehow move Chloe out and bring Lois and Clark together. The music for this show was fantastic. The writing for this show was great, (when they got into character development and away from the ‘freak of the week’ formula), and the casting was nigh unto perfect. Erica Durance isn’t just beautiful, but she plays the Lois part perfectly, balancing out multiple character traits. I wish they would’ve cast Tom Welling in the ‘Superman Returns’ movie, (nothing at all against Brando Routh), though I’m not sure he’d have taken it. They DID, however, use the heat vision effect established in “Smallville” in that movie, which was cool. “Smallville” improved upon the visual for that particular power and set the standard for the effect used. So the effects were great, too. John Schneider was (is) the best Jonathan Kent of all time. No one will ever do better playing that character. Michael Rosenbaum was also well cast. I would be pulling for Alex and grieving at the same time, knowing where his path would eventually lead. I was bummed when his contracted time for the show expired and he left. And John Glover was absolutely amazing. I also loved how they brought in other actors who had previous ties to Superman (or DC), shows and movies. Just a fantastic show all the way around - writing, casting, cinematography, effects, acting, and music. Just amazing. And this song is PERFECT for these scenes. I don’t think this show gets the credit it deserves. Love that this was posted. What a strong, emotional song for a strong, emotional scene!
