    My guess is the tire rack on the right hand side is a safety feature. You don't want to be fiddling with a spare tire mount right next to traffic on the side of the road.

    • @HFConstruction
      @HFConstruction  7 лет назад +7

      Copper Creek Cuts yeah I get that but the curb side is the best place for all the racks. The spare tire was taking up some prime real estate. LOL!

    Quick tip. I cut out a thin metal or aluminum plate to match the bracket hole on my racks. This made one large washer to hold the rack into place with the expanded metal. Tip 2 I would thru bolt the top racks you used the self tapers. Not a fan of the self tapers on racks. I have seen whole racks fall off , not to mention that they can easily be unbolted. Just sayN :)

      Ron Hart not fond of self tappers for any heavy duty or long term application, especially on vehicles and trailers. they often work loose.

  • @superior3384

    Really nice setup. You should make the holes bigger. Drill them out and install thicker bigger bolts. Better theft Deterrent. That is one super nice trailer.

    I would recommend replacing those self tappers with some heavy duty bolts from Home Depot. My experience with those self tappers, is they’re way too easy to break off.

    • @whammond511
      @whammond511 3 года назад

      You don’t have to buy them from HD but it is a good idea. I prefer to use MidState Bolt & Screw. They’ll deliver them to your door if you don’t have an outlet near you. And you can get them Hardened as well as Heavy Duty (unless that’s what you meant by heavy duty).

  • @kristianoleme
    @kristianoleme 7 лет назад +5

    You know, just a thought here, I would have personally put the gas rack on the driver side, since that is the side you fuel up on. But I can totally see the reasoning behind keeping them equipment side.

  • @ehexzs10
    @ehexzs10 7 лет назад +2

    Your going to hit a mailbox one day with that equipment hanging so far out. I did once with my spare tire hanging out. I had the same trailer made by Load Trail and I put all my equipment in the front tool box cage, expect it was one door that folded down. I made a shelf so I had 2 levels and I kept my blowers in the bed of the truck.

  • @scottf6604
    @scottf6604 7 лет назад +2

    Kevin
    looks like your having to much fun with your new toys.
    Something you probably already factored in is in most states the max trailer width is 8'6"
    including gear.
    In Ct, something they will hold your feet to the fire for.
    Be safe, be legal.
    Very cool trailer.

    Just wandered if you use some kind of back up camera to hook to the trailer. I kind of get tired of getting it close, then getting out to see how much more I need to move to line it up. My trailer is heavy like yours, so moving to the trailer to the ball is not an option.

    Nice video. On the areas where you mounted to the expanded metal. Consider using a galvanized metal electrical plate on each side. It will keep the expanded metal from flexing and bending. All that money invested, I hope you have Lo Jack on there as well!!!!!

  • @osbornes5

    Hey Fall River...these dudes that are criticizing you for having "too much crap for one guy" kill me. It's your stinking business...run it the way you want. Plus, if you are planning for the future as you say, that just makes you wise. I've been pretty much solo for over 30 years. I've had the same trailer since about 1990. Single axle 6x12 with the original floor...(treated wood was waaayyyy better back then). It has been functional but I've lost a few pieces of equipment from bouncing out of the trailer and damaged countless pieces of gear because they weren't on racks. I wish I had organized many years ago. Looking at a new trailer this season and it will be racked up. Btw...I've got a 48 VRide and a Turf Tiger 2. The longer I have them, the more i use the V. It stinks that i bought mine last year and they come out with the VRide 2 this year which is a much better mower. Plan to sell my current V and purchase a new 48 and a 36 next season. Good video.

    Hey Kevin, That is a Very Nice Set Up & I really do Like it, You are so Right when you say it gets Hot inside the Enclosed Trailer, I Run an Enclosed 7x16 Trailer with all the Equipment Defender Racks and it Gets HOT in their to the Point I Have to get Out Fast or I will Roast 😟, I'm Down in Broward County Florida. Now Having said That I do Love the Fact that all my Equipment is out of sight and secure in my Trailer Overnight. I know if a Thief wants it they will do anything to get in, but I have made it a bit harder for them to take. Everything outside is Locked up with Hocky Puck Locks, plus all my STHIL 's Locked upon my Racks Plus I have a Chain also on my "WRIGHT STANDER". It might take the Thief just a Bit Longer and a Bit more Stressful to get it if they really want it, Thats is Good that you do back your Trailer up into your Shop and not leave it outside, even though it is a Bit of a Pain to do it everyday 😏 Thanks For Sharing Friend 👍🏻

    Like the setup I bought my new defender blower and 3 trimmer rack at the GIE just before I met you and Brian I'm going to install over the winter . Question trimmer rack installation the way you installed what worries me is the motors are facing the truck and rain going I to the mufflers also those 2 on the bottom won't they get a lot of wheel spray just a question and thoughts of mechanical issues

    I’m a 10 year old boy I love to play outside I love lawn care I have an electric powered dirtbike and I tried to make a wood trailer but I can’t find anyway to hook the wooden trailer up to the dirtbike in 2020 I’m going to make my own business by myself but I might need to wait until I’m 16 so I can drive and pull a trailer

    Great video man! I really enjoyed seeing the racks get installed. Seems like Equipment Defender makes some quality equipment. Will you still use the enclosed or are you going to sell it?

      Joe Mills thanks man! I’m keeping the enclosed and going to continue to use it. The new trailer is nice but it’s just so big.

    They put the spare tire rack on the passenger side because when you have a flat on the freeway your not standing out there like a fool trying to get the spare off to fix your flat.
