    I have a Honda mower that is over 20 years old. I am the second owner, but I’ve beaten the absolute hell out of it. My secret to success is to just keep up with the maintenance, change the oil often, check the level every use, always new spark plug and filter. It’s getting to the point where I should replace it, but I will likely do a light overhaul of it and run it into the ground, it is a workhorse. You can go to any dealership that sells Honda and get parts for it. I haven’t tried an actual auto dealership, but any place that sells mowers, atvs or motorcycles could likely help you out. It is hard to believe I got mine for free, because it was abandoned in a shed and the new homeowner couldn’t get it started. I didn’t judge him on that, I just said “thank you!”.

    Glad to see how simple your set up is. Nothing in this set up is financed which is amazing probably the 36 inch but that’s about it. “ keep the set up as cheap as possible and kill the game with a cheap functioning set up “ 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

    • @roadrunnerlawns
      @roadrunnerlawns  3 года назад +3

      You’re correct, the 36 was the only thing financed and the other equipment was purchased with funds throughout the season. My particular situation was unique as my business was considered a “side hustle” and I still received a salary from my full time job. I will touch more on this in later videos but there’s plenty of more to come as well as my ideology on the lawn care industry now and going forward. Stay tuned!

    I'm a solo guy...hustler ztr, 2 stihl fs series trimmers and a 40v leaf blower. The fs trimmers can knock down any area big enough to consider using a push mower in the same time, but with less effort. So any ditch or hill that the ztr can't do, gets done with the trimmers. I have a trimmers rack that holds the big trimmer line roll and a line cutter zip tied to it. Keeping things lean and efficient. I also don't travel far for yards...95% are within 3 miles of my house. Less travel time, less gas used.

    • @jamesflynn10
      @jamesflynn10 2 года назад +4

      You will never find a ‘99 that is not rusted out where I live. If it is low miles and not rusted, being from a dry part of the country without road salt exposure, it is possible it could sell for that much. Not to mention, old school Toyota is so much simpler, although likely harder to get parts for. Given the following for old school American trucks, I wouldn’t be too surprised if a clean low mile Tundra or Tacoma could sell for $20,000.

    For tie downs for your Wright 36” mower, look into Boat Buckles, they use they to tie down bass boat etc, it’s a ratchet strap that mounts to trailer, . Other thing I would do is get a couple polyurethane boat bow stops to mount to the trailer for the front kingpin axles of your mower to wedge into when parking. They won’t scratch paint, it provides a solid stop for forward motion when stopping, and would prevent front end from sliding if rear was properly strapped down, saving time. It’s all about shaving seconds a day multiple times a day

Please be very aware that thugs will pull up beside you, jump out a backdoor, into your truck bed, and dive back in and be gone in about 4 seconds. This HAS happened to my construction friend, lost a Stihl Concrete Saw $$$. He carries a handgun, has constant video on his two trucks which were parked face to face, and was in the truck with his crew eating lunch. It happened so fast that the thieves were gone before he even got out his truck. He called the cops, waited 4 hours, they never showed so he lost time $$$ with his whole crew and the saw and got zero justice. Please spend the money and buy/build you some locking bars or racks.
