I knew you were working on a new brake lever, but this is so much more then I was expecting. The reduction in travel will save my foot from getting crushed by stumps and rocks countless times. Anyone riding what would be considered extreme terrain for a T7 will completely understand how big of a deal this lever is. THANK YOU 😊
I put one on my T7. ABSOLUTELY worth the price. It really does 'fix' the rear break. Firm pedal with good 'feel'. About 50% less travel. This is one you NEED on your bike.
Awesome products!!!! I purchased some camel products for my T7. I like that bend on the exhaust I just wish the rear passenger pegs were still able to be used.
You just know when you buy Camel ADV products your getting the best. I will be getting this as soon as Adventure moto Australia gets stock. All the Camel products i run on my T7 are top quality. Have to be some of the best dirtbike products i have used in my 46 years of riding and racing dirtbikes. It's nice to buy quality parts that are well thought out, tested, made right and do what it says on the box. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you, I come from a road racing background, the rear brake was only used in emergencies and showing off, and the occasional line tightening through a carousel. However the T7 rear brake has been driving me nuts, glad to see there is a fix.
I ordered this as soon as I got the e-mail.. Before I even watched the video.. Love your products (have nearly the whole T7 catalog on my bike). This is the final piece and I am really excited to get this on the bike. Keep up the good work..
Genius, and thanks for making it so easy to install. The folding tip is important to me, so I might wait a bit on the order. Sign me up though, really appreciate the explanation and clever design. Well done
This video has an added bonus, you can use it to explain to your wife why you need to spend more money on your motorbike! “ I can’t stop properly and could die, this fixes that “😂
Great job you did on that modification. Lot's of testing to get it dialed in. I'm not a Tenere 700 owner. However I do know a great modification when I see it. Everything you are explaining is spot on.
Creepy!! I was just thinking about the rear brake this morning. I am a street rider attempting to train myself to use the rear brake more. I noticed that my T7 rear brake does not like to do much. Awesome that CamelADV has saved the day once again. Thank you guys.
Very impressive! As a production engineer I really appreciate your insight as to how things ended up as they are on the stock assembly. As a new owner of a Tenere 700 I ordered one of your clutch arms since I had one on my old 890 and was impressed with it. I am now going to order the rear brake arm kit since the rear brake feel has bothered me while riding the bike.
Sweet, another great solution for the T700 guys! I'll be ordering one soon as the folding tips are ready ;) Appreciate the work you are doing & as a side note I'm completely satisfied with all the products I've bought!
I have one on the way, just wrapped up yalls tail tidy install, I have the high fender kit just have not installed yet, also have the euro exhaust, clutch fix, funnel, kickstand spring and sensor delete. Thank you for your product development! Ill post some pics when everything is installed, I have not experienced the brake issue until about a week ago and i no longer debated ordering ''the fix''
I've been waiting for somebody to address this. I hated the rear brake the second I got the bike. Very hard to use when standing. I raised the lever just to have the brake lock up and wouldn't roll. I've been very pleased with all my Camel adv fixes. I'll be ordering one.
I'm quite happy that I came across your newly released solution for that so-so brake feel on the T7. I was looking at the Fasst return-spring kit and maybe going to a YZ master cylinder. I've had the 'stickin rear brake' issue on mine, when the bike was new. My dealer was told by Yamaha technical support that I was draggin the brake with my foot, not even considering the video I sent that clearly showed the lever not returning on it's own... I've not fried my rear brake, luckily, but it definitly never felt good either anyway. Time to upgrade!
I had the issue with the rear disc overheating due to the issue you have described, which Yamaha refused to acknowledge under warranty. Will be ordering this as soon as available in the UK. Thank you!
Mine came from dealer mushy like everyone says. Try adjusting the brake adjustment.. almost to max sensitivity. And spray lube the pivot after each ride. Mine works good, locks up as it should off road with abs OFF. About 600 miles off road now. Racing background
Awesome good work I have most of your upgrades including exhaust system, aux fuel, tank anti bobble etc this will be the the next one as soon as it is available.
Nice piece and im sure it adresses the problems. One remark to the explanations about the law of leverage: when you longer the lever on the pumpside with the hole more outside and then go back with the adapter to centre pressurepoint of the pump, you gain no leverage, the leverage is than the same again like original.
That's exactly the same thing I found. My street bike friends don't mind the rear brake. I ride single track mostly and really don't like how the rear brake feels.
Thank you once again for an amazing product I already did my pre-order. I love the Way you give so much detail/explanation in your videos on the how’s and why of your redesign. It won’t be long and I will have every product that you’ve made for the T7. Thanks again from Portland Oregon… just one question what front fender did you use on the blue Tenere?
Glad you worked out a solution for that issue. Hard work, lot of trial error. Sure you have me one on the table. Good ole mass production machine. It has a good motor and frame. Change everything else.
nice but not convinced by the leverage change. You moved the fixation back but the new bracket compensated the move. As the piston is still at the same place so same leverage (I could be wrong ⁾. But great improvement about friction.
Travel with the offset Clovis will still be more than stock lever.. Longer lever arm still creates more travel than the stock lever.. So should still see improved (reduced travel) at your toe…
We can actually see the comparatively shorter pedal throw in the video, I'm pretty sure their solution is effective enough. I ordered the pedal, so we'll see, but I doubt they would bother releasing a product that does nothing. Not on brand, I would say..
Well it could be proven easily. We just need video comparing and measuring OEM vs. Camel leverage. Cory makes great products, but his video production are always not so great. He thinks like engineer, not like marketing man.
I asked myself the same question. The up-down movement does actually increase, on condition that the pin into the piston stays in line. Corey showed in the video that there is space for the pin to move,… Changing the angle of the brake pump as a hole would be a theoretical more perfect solution.
@@timsalabimbombassa After having installed and used the new pedal, I can say that the brake actuation has more nuance and positive feedback. No more of that "push on the pedal without feeling any braking, then suddenly locking the rear wheel". I can modulate that brake as it's supposed to and give subtle inputs for more control.
Could you please explain your thoughts on the crashworthyness in terms of hyper/over extension of the brake master cylinder? By removing the hard stop against the frame, I would be concerned an upwards impact on the lever would transfer the force - rip the spring out followed by the piston, before hitting the stop. Would it be possible to make the geometry much closer on that frame stop - even just a nub for that purpose? ruclips.net/video/5q8NQx0yEHE/видео.html Many birds with one stone, looking great!
Response here - ruclips.net/video/nm4FGfB1JT0/видео.html thanks for taking the time to address the concern! Now I've got my bike back I can see what Cory means :)
I have two suggestions. Make the entire lever from cnc steel. Furthermore, use hybrid ceramic bearings with rubber seals & packed with wheel bearing grease.
Great explanation of everything! But I have question regarding 17:40: what is the purpose of that 'top stop'? Is it there so in case of an accident lever doesn't pull out the piston?
This will be well sorted and good quality. My high exhaust and footpegs still going strong after 10,000ks, mostly off road. Gee only if someone would redesign the poor fuel tank design sitting way above the seat line. Loving riding the T7 with 5 litres of fuel in the tank.
Awesome!!! Can't stand the rear brake feel. (dirt guy) Been driving me nuts since I bought the bike and have been searching for this solution from day one. Order coming your way! Thanks for making it happen. Any chance of getting an extended cnc brake tip with pins? That'd be so sweet.
Mind lending what alloy? I'm interested in having fun with your kit and trying to create a Borinox stainless type bushing. I can't express my hatred for the corrosion my machines see in brake assemblies with all the brine on the road.
I have seen a Tuareg sitting in the shop and am wondering if you have experienced the same issue with it as you have with the T7? I cannot get my pedal adjusted to remove the long stroke and the lack of feel. It is very similar to your explanation of the T7 fix you just demoed. Just wondering.
wonder if Tenere World Raid version has that fixed by yamaha ? kinda sucks, getting new bike with crappy brakes, my pads last 2k km at most and once rear brake failed completely on me...
Cory, I just ordered this. What would be the downside of getting it unpainted since it's stainless? It looks totally trick unpainted! (I'm old, can we still use that term? 🙂)
My biggest issue with the OEM brake is the fact that it lies slightly underneath the clutch case (I think it's the clutch) and it's always there when I want to brake, gets really annoying. Does this pedal solve my issue in any way or is it just not the point?
Nice engineering. I went through the same steps of changing pads and fitting steel braded lines. Hardly a difference.. I will order this. At the front the pads and steel lines do make a difference btw. Sure you already know that
I fully agree on the state of the rear brake.... my 20 year old crap bike rear brake feels better. I bought mine used so started trying to bleed it with no effect, then went to dealer to try the new bike and same thing on that. But you just can't criticize this bike apparently. You just have to push down way to far when going downhill and it's akward af.
Great solution to a very annoying problem. I enjoy your videos and products, but I sure wish you would invest in a wireless microphone. When you turn away from the camera it's hard to hear you.

Order placed! This might be the greates fix for the T7. Your R&D is so impressive in its thorougness. Kudos to you at Camel Adv!!!

I smoked my rear brake rotor and pads trying to adjust the brake to where it actually does anything. I wish I had waited until you did this!
Absolutely spot on. There is just way to much travel before biting. Great breakdown of the issue. Many 👍
Your depth of analysis, testing and design are top shelf! Looking forward to what you come up with on the DesertX.
Genius, and thanks for making it so easy to install. The folding tip is important to me, so I might wait a bit on the order. Sign me up though, really appreciate the explanation and clever design. Well done

Installed mine and it works amazing. If you ride off road this is a must buy. Fantastic job Cory Thank You.
Amazing analysis and mechanical wisdom. Keep doing your good work bro.
Can’t wait to buy more things from you guys!
Nailed it. Well done Corey.
I had the issue with the rear disc overheating due to the issue you have described, which Yamaha refused to acknowledge under warranty. Will be ordering this as soon as available in the UK. Thank you!
Amazing piece. This works beautifully. Said goodbye to the washers and bolts I tried to make the OEM brake better
Finally! I have been waiting on an aftermarket brake pedal
Another great product from Camel ADV!! Thanks for all your hard work and dedication!! Ordered!!
I just installed it on my 2024 Tenere and it is 100% better, yes I come from a dirt background.
Once again Cory, solid work brother with a solid solution. Good job sir. Definitely pre ordering.

Acerbis Universal Supermoto Blue (2040390211)
AWESOME. The rear pedal has always been a pet peeve. Ordered!
Nice job with the trouble shooting and development process.
Love your approach to this

Awesome! Was just looking into rear brake sponginess couple of days ago, even booked brakes just in case. Looking forward!
Hi that explains why my rear pads wore out in 6000 miles road use
Nice! Now how long till Alt Rider copies your design but changes it just enough to "be different"....
I don’t own a T7, and I’m not planning to do so, but found this video super interesting!
Impressive job.
Thanks so much for explaining and putting so much effort into making things better. I am excited and will be buying one soon. Keep up the good work.
I think I have learned more about my T7 from Camel ADV than any other source. Cory rocks.

this is on my shirt list of mods for my new t7!
AWESOME! Love the bike but hate the stock brake. Thanks!

I'd probably add a zerk fitting. I prefer procrastinated maintenance. I saw a bi-level foot pedal for sit/stand position, but imagine IP protection?
I have a suggestion.. how about some develop roter guards for the tenere 700 front and rear
ordered two of them!
Sold!! Thank you for making one of the worst parts of the T7 better

The square seal in the caliper is responsible for retracting the piston. Has nothing to do with rotor being warped.

a Tenere ! bike you have to change pretty much everything but the engine , I have one lol 🤣🤣!!
I feel like the Africa Twin has the same problem. Hint hint. 😉
Use red grease be ok
