You want to load the suspension before tightening any of the bolts up to final torque. Also, you can use a screwdriver or 3/8" ratchet extension as a pry bar to lift / move the hub around enough to get it to light up with the arms. Use the bolt to knock out the extension.
Had my JP arms for 2 years now with moderate-aggresive driving. No issues with the bushings. I'd also suggest getting 19MM rear sway bar and bushings from an Acura TL 2012. You'll love it.
How are these parts holding up a few years later? I'm about to order the same kit and wanted to know if the extra 200 for the "better kit" would be worth it
Whats the size of the control arm nuts ? (9:34) I got a used set of SPCs but they didn't have those nuts :( Much appreciate the video, i'm going to put on the SPC kit in a week
curious this rust check i am wondering what the difference is between it and just using brake cleaner for preventing rust? Or is brake cleaner just like a carburetor cleaner where it just removes rust but doesn't prevent it? I know this is a stupid question
sam111880 Brake cleaner or carb cleaner won't work to prevent rust. You can use the rust check, rust retardant paint, or even a rubberized undercoating.
O that was what that grey paste was i thought that was some type of thread locking compound at first but it is silicon paste for preventing rust on the threads. Now i understand why one would uses it on brake and bolt thread components. Well you used it on non threads but i have seen it done on threads
Hey its me again, in the instructions it's telling me to torque the jam nuts to 75ft pounds, are those the nuts that are on the arms to keep them from moving?
Hey Luis, the TSX shares the same chassis as the accord, so those will be identical. As far as the TL goes, I bet some parts of it are going to be similar, but not as similar as the TSX. Alot of the information transfers over though 👍
@@milanmastracci Thanks for your response. I ordered all of the hardware that you put up in the description and just finished cross referencing the TL diagram and Im happy to confirm that all these bolts are the exact replacements for the 4th gen TLs too. I bought a 3 arm camber kit and while all the bolts are securing the arms right now with no problems, I'd rather have all new hardware. I also have to roll my fenders to clear my wheels after 20mm spacers so its just sitting at home with the rear being supported by a jack lmao... thank you for this video brother
Good post and informative. Question, I am maintaining a stock 4-D 2010 Accord. Alighnment reads good on toe but camber only is off. Is is okay just to replace the camber arms with adjustables and then get an alignment? (They gave me no caster measurement, perhaps you can explain that.) Or, will replacing only the camber arms create problems with the stock toe bars, which currently read as right on spec?
How'd you get the short arm off? I took at the bolt in the back and the nut and washer in the front. Now what? Am I supposed to hammer that bolt in the front out or something?
whiteeboi After you get that washer and nut out, you should be able to remove the bolt. If its stuck, use some penetrating oil like WD40 or thrust so it can be loosened, and then slide it out. Use a hammer on it if it is really in there
Could you upload a video installing coilovers if you have them? I found a video for the fronts somewhere but not for the rears. My megan ez coilovers are coming tmo for my 08 accord. Thanks! That trunk rattle video really helped out. and this one too, waiting till i lower the car so i know if i need only the rear or the front jpower kit too.
curious how many cars need alignment i notice that some cars you cann't even adjust some of the settings of camber.castor,or toe without buying after market parts so if that is the cases i would imagine some vehicles never have to have alignment i.e there fixed unless one wants to modify things for performance or wear... just kind of curious what vehicles need alignment
Every car has toe adjustment at the minimum since toe is what kills tires fast. Camber and caster are usually not stock adjustments on lots of cars, so you need aftermarket for that.
The 3 bolts that I needed are specific to each location so when you go to Honda and get them or order some new ones, just say you need new bolts and the tech will probably bring you a printed exploded view of the rear suspension and ask which bolts you'll need. Its pretty simple :)

+CGphotoOp The clip at the beginning of the video was after I got an allignment on it, after it was installed. The camber on the back of my car was much worse without it :)
I read in the previous convo you had with MrChris about getting coils. Any reason for this? Is it better to get the coils for the lowered car with spacers and camber kit set up? I have the exact same model but in blue and I plan to do the exact same things you did. Great vids man.
+Sean Otis If you can afford coilovers, it is a much better option beacuse you can properly lower the car if you like. With coilovers, you can also change the ride height, dampening, and rebound whereas you can't change anything with OEM struts and springs. :) I'll be doing an install video soon for them
+milanmastracci ok thanks. So the ideal set up would be to get the camber kit with coil-overs and the spacers? And you installed a rear alignment kit but what about the front wheels?
You got it :) For the front, the alignment didn't change due to the suspension geometry, but when I lower it more, it will possibly need new ball joints up front.
Okay haha. I just ordered my rear camber kits and I will be installing coilovers maybe sometime soon! Btw, not sure if you posted a video about installing coilovers unless I missed it, but do you have a tutorial or would you recommend a certain video?
MrChris2Fur I installed lowering springs on a buddy's BMW, which is very similar to our accords, except for the fact that all of the 4 struts on our cars, is a McPherson style (so like the fronts on the BMW). Installing coils is easier than lowering springs because you don't have to play with the shocks and open them up. Its a direct swap :)

Yeah I would go to your local dealer and see what they can do. I would find the OEM bolt that you need for your shock, and get them to find any large nut that will fit the bolt. I guarantee they will be able to find something for you StaticVtec
