that answered my question. my wife just bought one of these at a sale shop. there was no instructions, but i made an awesome pot of rice last night with it anyway. I am now making some soup. and wanted to make sure I was doing everything right. thanks.
Thank you. I just learned why my food, when slow cooked, is over cooked. It's because I did not know that I could switch from high to low by pressing once or twice. I would just hit slow cook and select the time. OMG! I cannot wait to redo some recipes. This is my second one because the first one just quit powering up. I read reviews and a few people had this issue. I have the 8 qt.

schanik2 Hey quick question, what happened to the first one that not powering up?!?! Did the company do something about it. The pot wasn't cheap 159$ at bed bath beyond last time I check. I want it but I'm very iffy about the price.
Thank you. My dad bought a 4 quart Fagor multi cooker and we haven't used it yet because the written instructions are confusing and in too small of print for my dad to see. The pressure cooker we bought a few months ago has just been setting on the counter top during that time because neither one of use knew how to use it.

Kay, we are sorry to hear this. The feedback we get on the unit is that is very easy to use and the manual is very helpful. To use the product the lid has to be locked in place, the pressure regulator knob has to be on the Pressure setting if you want to pressure cook or cook rice , or on the Steam position if you want to Slow Cook. After that you press the button of the function you want to use, you adjust the time with the plus and minus buttons and press the Start button. The cooker will build the pressure, or temperature, and once it reaches it the countdown will start. When the time is up it will automatically switch to the Keep Warm function until you release the pressure or just press the Stop button. Thank you.
Should it release steam and make noise while it is pressure cooking? Mine does, but someone told me it shouldn't be doing that. It seems to cook fine, but sure does release a lot of steam and noise the entire time it is pressure cooking.
I have purchased 2 of these and experienced the same problem twice now. following instructions as seen in this video, I have attempted to cook white as the simplest use of the pot. with both pots, the pressure would build and them release before reaching full pressure which would trigger the electric keypad (I imagine) to have the indicators turn solid red and the timer begin to countdown. I also first read all the instructions and duly checked the pot before starting this procedure. I am an extremely frustrated and unhappy customer as it is near impossible to get hold of FAGOR customer service without delegating 1/2 the morning to waiting for mountain time, then to be told that this is the wrong customer service site, try another number. any ideas on what is going wrong with the pot and/or process?

My experience with this device has been very unsatisfactory. One time, it, apparently, didn't regulate itself, and it, literally, "boiled out" ALL liquid and nearly burned the meat. Tonight, it simply wouldn't start cooking at all. If I could get rid of it and have an Instant Pot, I'd do it as soon as possible; I know no one who has had problems with an Instant Pot, and I've had nothing but problems.
How do you use the steamer basket and steam function? I searched everywhere and cant find instructions.

I see from reading these comments that my problems with the device are not unusual. I REALLY regret having purchased it (at twice the price of an Instant Pot), but I've had it about a year now, so there's no way to send it back and be rid of it. I would never, never recommend this product to anyone.
How do I turn this device to close? It won't close. Must I go to the gym and work out? Am I not strong enough? It doesn't seem to close. I put it in the 10 o clock position, but it won't close
You should check the silicone seal, it might be out of place. Tuck it under the wire holder and try again.
