I keep seeing these comments a lot. And I know most of them are just jokes or laughing at inconvenience. But I PROMISE, you can 100% get good with whatever digital products. I improved my digital art drastically on a slow, cracked Android phone using only my fingers on ibis paint x. You guys can do it! All it takes is determination.

Kyuubi VII Agreed. When I started off digital art (Literally 6 Months Ago) I used my iPad. The first app I got was just notes. Then I discovered ibisPaintX and it was awesome AF. I used my iPad and Stylus for the longest time. Then I got a tablet which I am still trying to figure out how to work..
I tried many programs but this is still my favorite one. I also really enjoy medibang paint since it has many different functions but Ibispaint is so easy to understand and has like everything I need. It‘s also pretty cool that it has its own community and uploading function
I know is late BUT, Huion is reaaaaaally good for beginners, they are really cheap and they probably will keep working for years without breaking or something :)), (tell me if i said something bad english isn't my native language)
I'm using Huion H610 proV2 and it's really good for beginners. The pressure sensitivity is incredible and setting it up is easy as well. You can connect it to the phone as well as the computer 👍
@@sehaseonia4202Actually I use Medibang paint pro, i LOVE it, i heared that Krita is good and another other i can secure is good is Paint Tool Sai(it was the first program i ever used, its really simple for beginers) :)
For anyone wondering: I bought the $30 Huion (since I’m a beginner and thought it’d be a better investment to practice on). I love it! It gets the job done, the size was nice for me because it wasn’t too heavy in my backpack when going to campus. I think if you’re just starting out and possibly unsure of your commitment to drawing as well, this is a great starter. It was super easy to install and adjust, and again, it worked just fine with my programs.
I actually have no talent. And here I am, trying my best to draw.. I love art! I want to master digital art soon so I can, at least, create illustrations for my book covers. 💕
I wasn't born with any particular talent either :) But we can become amazing artists as long as we put our heart into it and practise! 💪✨ You go get amazing ❤️
Might I add the *XP Pen* . They have screen display tablets for around 200$ and they are REALLY good. The model is *Xp pen artist 12* with 11 inches drawing space I'm getting one for Christmas this year and I can't wait. It's great and affordable beginner display tablet
I have the XP-Pen Artist 15 Pro. It's amazing. I originally bought the Wacom Cintiq 16 but returned it after seeing the XP Pen. The Cintiq cost $200 more and has NO shortcut buttons or wheel. XP Pen Artist Pro has 6 shortcut buttons and a wheel.
@@petramatkovic4122 You should contact XP-Pen support. I had a couple problems. They sent me a link to update firmware and sent a new stylus for free. Now everything works perfectly.
Ask your teacher if they can help you find a non-profit that could give you a tablet, or try to find a used one for cheap on an online auction site like eBay or craigslist (with your parents' permission, of course). You don't need a fancy, new tablet if you're just using it to draw with. If you really can't get a tablet for digital art, get some printer paper and a Number 2 pencil. The skills you learn on paper won't be wasted when you finally do get your tablet.
WE LOVE PAPER DRAWINGS!!! Everything has it's own niche. For example, ebooks and fanfics are now in....but nothing will ever be as good as a actual book, with crinkly yellow pages, and that "book smell". Keep up with the traditional drawing methods💓💓
Krita is amazing in every way except for its smoothing. I’m not very good at drawing digitally so my lines are not very smooth. The smoothing in Krita doesn’t really do much but in other apps they work without even having to click the smoothing option. I do like that Krita has such a wide library of settings brushes and even has animation and comic layouts though.
Her:talking about tablets and stuff Me:Looks at DIY digital pen and ipad Edit: i don’t think anyone will care but it’s was my birthday yesterday and I got a Apple Pencil generation 1 for my iPad it’s great definitely recommend it to iPad users.
Love it ! it wasn't over-explanation, just to the point for a beginner who knows nothing. Also love how it was organized, like things you need and then the software and then the progress. THANK YOU!
i have a ugee display tablet that cost about 300 dollars. and i gotta say...IT IS HUGE! I love it very much! the colors match your computer screen very well and I couldn't find any bad things about pen preasure either! it was a little tricky setting it up but after the whole set up thing, it was fairly quick to respond when you first use it for the day!
I am a painter, doing a sculpture and sometimes I TRIED DIGITAL ITS NOT GOOD YET BUT I KEEP TRYING,,, HOPE IT WILL BE IMPROVE…. I LEARNED SOMETHING FROM YOU THANK YOU!
Clip studio paint is LIFE! It is my favorite drawing program. Not only can you paint and make beautiful landscapes and people, you can also create manga or comics with the comic tool & clipping they have. I mostly like it because I was able to get it for free when I got my Wacom Intuos tablet (small). The tablet came with 2 free softwares that you could download on 3 different devices. Clip studio paint is amazing ^^
Everyone on these types of videos is saying oh i use ibispaint and my fingers but honestly thats perfectly fine, a new fancy drawing tablet won't directly make you improve, it just makes things that little bit easier and more pen to paper feel. If you can't afford things like that just stick with you fingers, you can still make amazing art
For those who want to try digital art with a good program but don’t want to pay, try Krita it’s a free program where you have a lot of options and a good chance of testing if you like it or not😇
XP Pen Deco 01 is a great product with a low price! Large drawing area, many customizable buttons, thousands of pressure sensitivity levels and comes with a free graphic program download. I got one for Christmas a couple of years ago and last Christmas I got the same one for my step daughter after researching the latest models. The price was about $65 and I couldn’t find anything that came close to the quality for less than $200
I have a XP Pen Artist 10s v2 it works amazingly it is around $200-400 depending on your model you get. (mine was bought on ebay so i recommend looking there. also please be ware on ebay they may look like you can draw and see on the screen but it really is not so do research like i did)
Look, i don't know if you keep reading these comments but let me tell you that i find your video really useful!, i am pretty much a beginner digital artist and i am having some issues getting comfy cause i have been a traditional artist since little, i apreciate your explanation here ma'am! (Please correct me if i said something wrong english isn't my native languaje 😳😳)
8:06 Autodesk Sketchbook Pro is free since a year or somehting like that :) Also, if you buy a wacom Intuos Small you'll get 2 free applications (I got Clip Paint Studio thanks to it)
Thanks for the tips especially for that part where you recommend us to watch time lapse and real time videos. It really means a lot. :) As for drawing software: I initially started with Medibang. I recently bought Paintstorm Studio since Krita is suddenly laggy and I tried fixing it but to no avail. I went for Paintstorm Studio since it's way cheaper than mainstream drawing apps and I wanna support and go for underdogs. Specifically those with potential.
Guys, it's alright to start off with a poopy setup (Ibis paint X & finger, DIY pen, old tablet, ETC). Eventually, you'll get what you need. Of course. I say this from experience. I used to always make gacha edits, and reference my really bad sketches that were on my sketch pad onto ibis paint. I was getting impatient. REALLY IMPATIENT. I decided to make my DIY stylus. Pfft, I couldn't get myself comfortable with the wire connected to the top and the tip of my lead pencil with the cotton in the bottom. I just wanted a tablet connected to my laptop. :(. I gave up on ibis paint X entirely. Well uh oh guess what? I still had speed paints on ibis paint with people using what I have but didn't want to use anymore, my finger. I now own a 75 dollar huion tablet. If you don't want to spend much on your first tablet, its alright, it won't affect you 100%. But trust me, it's really worth struggling at first, because you'll love your setup even more than you do, and you'll be really proud with yourself. Keep looking up guys. (Btw I dont do gacha edits anymore)

Check out XP-Pen! I've tried a lot of tablets and XP Pen is the best alternative to the Wacom :) XP-Pen and Wacom are both Japanese companies so I guess that's why 🙌🙂
I used a Wacom Intuos Pro and an XP-Pen star 06 tablet and I can honestly say that I didn't feel a difference in quality despite the price gap. however, someone on youtube said that the XP-Pen acts wonky in Illustrator and that you have to download a Wacom driver to fix that but i wouldn't know how true that is because I already had the Wacom driver on my laptop
I'm getting an XP-Pen Deco 01 soon for an early Christmas present and I've seen good things in doing my research. I hope that it's as good as everyone keeps saying when I actually use it.
Thank you so much! I am good at traditional art but when it comes to digital art i look like i have absolutely no art experience. This really helped me. THANK YOU!♡
I got a Huion, not exactly sure what model anymore but it might be the 1060+ and I love it, but it's my first tablet, so I can't really compare it to anything else
I can relate. Online school, piano lessons, voice lessons, guitar, watercolor, digital art, traditional art, wanting to start 2 RUclips channels... I just want to do everything.
Sksksks yo same tho like I want to do everything, traditional art, digital art, learn guitar, study for exam, watch drama, movie, anime ,read manga like damn my life is too busy
i have gaomon pd1560. It's very cheap for that kind of tablet and the colors are AMAZING. I love the pen, it fells almost like a brush and I don't have that feelink like I'm scratching the surface. It has 10 express keys on the side and it's flippin' huge compared to my old wacom intuos comic. The only cons are the rechargable pen and the glass screen but it comes with a protector.
Old video but just wanted to mention that Clip Studio Paint has 50% off sales pretty often. The $25 license is all you need to get started and even comes with some basic animation functionality as well as access to all the artist-made materials and tutorials. I really think CSP is THE BEST for starters simply because of the effort they put into actually building a community that has lots of information in one easily accessible place.
Quick tip, When getting a drawing tablet if the name say "This supports OSU! "or if it says "For OSU!" Do not get it those tablets are for a rithym game called OSU!
false. i recommend looking at the description of the item. (f/e: the tablet "xp-pen star g640" on amazon's title is "XP-Pen StarG640 6x4 Inch osu! Ultrathin Tablet Drawing Tablet Digital Graphics Tablet with Battery-free Stylus(8192 levels pressure)" and in the description it says: Designed for OSU! gameplay, drawing, painting, sketching, E-signatures etc.. No need to install drivers for OSU! The Report Rate of the G640 has increased to 266 RPS, making lines flow quicker and smoother, enhancing overall performance") So definitely, look at the description and the reviews
The wacom mobile studio pro 16(the $2,999 one) is so expensive because not only is it an amazing drawing tablet it has a built in laptop so that you can move around with it. It has great specs and can even be used as a gaming laptop if you put a keyboard on it. It can play runescape on high with no lag.🖒
3:27 I have the same ugee m708 as seen in the video. It works wonderfully, and it has a lot of cool stuff. Some of the biggest pros in my opinion are, It has left handed comparability. No charger or battery for the pen, and only a single universal cable as hookup. It comes with 9 nibs, and as long as you don't abuse the pen pressure (take advantage of your programs brush sizes), they should last a while. I've had my for close to a year now, and I've gone through about 4 or 5 nibs, but it'll vary based on how frequently you draw. I hope this was helpful Edit: also, fire alpaca is a great free program which also allows custom brushes, and there are some amazing tutorials on that here on youtube

Doesnt matter, Im a longtime oil painter and I just started digital cuz its way more fun and has amazing prosperities. (Also if you want to work in concept art industry digital is the way to go)
I'm also a watercolor artist, but it's always good to do and learn as much as you can creatively
I'm a watercolor artist too, and though nothing can replace my love for traditional art, it's fun playing with digital medium and it definitely allows you to be endless with your imagination. :)

Alexx Hamilton oh nice that actually gives me hope!!
I just bought an Apple Pencil 1st generation for my iPad and I’m really exited to start digital art seriously
For everyone watching this in 2019 or later auto sketch is free now and it doesn't have ads
also, the Wacom Intuos tablets come prepackaged with some version of clip studio, as well as some other stuff
Also Wacom released a cheaper display tablet for around $500/600
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO TALKS ABOUT WHICH SOFTWARE TO USE !!! TOT
I recommend getting ibisPaint if you are on a tablet, it doesn’t cost any money, and is free to use and supports pressure sensitivity!

Alena Neko, glad you like it ^^

huion review 4 u: good tablets but u might have a random disconnect
issue with some computers
I know is late BUT, Huion is reaaaaaally good for beginners, they are really cheap and they probably will keep working for years without breaking or something :)), (tell me if i said something bad english isn't my native language)
I'm using Huion H610 proV2 and it's really good for beginners. The pressure sensitivity is incredible and setting it up is easy as well. You can connect it to the phone as well as the computer 👍
What app good for pc using huion??
@@sehaseonia4202Actually I use Medibang paint pro, i LOVE it, i heared that Krita is good and another other i can secure is good is Paint Tool Sai(it was the first program i ever used, its really simple for beginers) :)
Unrelated but your accent is ADORABLE I honestly could listen to you talking for hours
I just ordered that one! I'm really excited for it because it seemed like a great one for beginners
Curious to know if you progressed with digital art?
life hack: find a drawing timelapse and put the time thingy at the pace u wanna go! :)

The model is *Xp pen artist 12* with 11 inches drawing space
I'm getting one for Christmas this year and I can't wait.
It's great and affordable beginner display tablet
Delta-8 oh I have xp-pen artist 12. I love it.
I have the XP-Pen Artist 15 Pro. It's amazing. I originally bought the Wacom Cintiq 16 but returned it after seeing the XP Pen. The Cintiq cost $200 more and has NO shortcut buttons or wheel. XP Pen Artist Pro has 6 shortcut buttons and a wheel.
artifex_X Yes I have the same one!
It's really buggy tho.
Adds to it's personality I guess :)
@@petramatkovic4122 You should contact XP-Pen support. I had a couple problems. They sent me a link to update firmware and sent a new stylus for free. Now everything works perfectly.
I needed this tutorial, even though i have neither pc, nor tablet and nothing! xD but will be useful when i buy a tablet and a computer.

Also me: realizing I'm still in middle school and I'm broke because I can't get a job
Why not try asking your parents for a cheap tablet?

WE LOVE PAPER DRAWINGS!!! Everything has it's own niche. For example, ebooks and fanfics are now in....but nothing will ever be as good as a actual book, with crinkly yellow pages, and that "book smell". Keep up with the traditional drawing methods💓💓
1:01 Yes, thank you,Totally true, omg, im glad someone shares my pain.
You forget krita on pc! It’s in Mac too, love it!
I know it’s in the description but still 👌
Krita is amazing in every way except for its smoothing. I’m not very good at drawing digitally so my lines are not very smooth. The smoothing in Krita doesn’t really do much but in other apps they work without even having to click the smoothing option. I do like that Krita has such a wide library of settings brushes and even has animation and comic layouts though.
Nancy Driessen and Linux!
im literally downloading that as i was watching this video, and i got a wacom. im a beginner and i guess i started out how i was supposed to!
Krita blows all the competition out of the water. And it's free. And it Runs on Windows, Mac, AND Linux.

THANK YOU!
krita needs some love
5 stars on this one been a professional painter my whole life. But first time using digital. Very helpfull thank you.
i have a ugee display tablet that cost about 300 dollars. and i gotta say...IT IS HUGE! I love it very much! the colors match your computer screen very well and I couldn't find any bad things about pen preasure either! it was a little tricky setting it up but after the whole set up thing, it was fairly quick to respond when you first use it for the day!
Lia Draws What an amazing little review - thank you so much ♡ I hope it will help some artists who might be in the market for a Ugee ^_^

It cost money tho right
I got that tablet too ! It came with the paint tool sai and clip studio for you too right ?
The XP-PEN deco 01 is amazing!!
XP- pen is a nice company right ?
Sneha Ghosh yes!
I recommend this software called Krita! it's similar to photoshop and has even an animation feature!
I have a XP-Pen Deco 01 and it is super good! Pressure sensitivity of more than 8000 and a great price of $80 CAD! It works super well!

Jefferson Donald II Yeah but medibang has more with illustration and fire alpaca has animation features. I get both
I have this programm
(mine was bought on ebay so i recommend looking there. also please be ware on ebay they may look like you can draw and see on the screen but it really is not so do research like i did)
Thank you so much for this recommendation! And for the warning as well. It is easy to be fooled by the product images nowadays.

Also, if you buy a wacom Intuos Small you'll get 2 free applications (I got Clip Paint Studio thanks to it)
Thanks for the tips especially for that part where you recommend us to watch time lapse and real time videos. It really means a lot. :)
As for drawing software: I initially started with Medibang.

I have an XP pen tablet that I got in amazon for only $40
Check out XP-Pen! I've tried a lot of tablets and XP Pen is the best alternative to the Wacom :)
XP-Pen and Wacom are both Japanese companies so I guess that's why 🙌🙂
I used a Wacom Intuos Pro and an XP-Pen star 06 tablet and I can honestly say that I didn't feel a difference in quality despite the price gap. however, someone on youtube said that the XP-Pen acts wonky in Illustrator and that you have to download a Wacom driver to fix that but i wouldn't know how true that is because I already had the Wacom driver on my laptop
I just ordered the XP-pen g640 and I think i have made a good decision.
I'm getting an XP-Pen Deco 01 soon for an early Christmas present and I've seen good things in doing my research. I hope that it's as good as everyone keeps saying when I actually use it.

Thank you for making this video i always wanted to learn digital art i am so bad at this! Thanks i'm gonna start today😀
Quick tip, When getting a drawing tablet if the name say "This supports OSU! "or if it says "For OSU!" Do not get it those tablets are for a rithym game called OSU!

The wacom mobile studio pro 16(the $2,999 one) is so expensive because not only is it an amazing drawing tablet it has a built in laptop so that you can move around with it. An art program I really liked a lot before I got SAI is fire alpaca.
My huion was for 15 pounds here, its been working nice and great for a year now! I recommend it.
I hope this was helpful
Edit: also, fire alpaca is a great free program which also allows custom brushes, and there are some amazing tutorials on that here on youtube
