I don't agree because Sony Bluetooth speaker works better with Android and not with IPhone. I never understand why in videos they never play the biggest speaker at full volume, to let us decide which one we want to buy? How is it a fair comparison to limit the priciest and potentially loudest speaker to 25% less sound than the others? Let them all play at max volume so we know which one is loudest and which one could be a fair compromise.
Cause if the largest speaker is at max volume, then the recording equipment will have to be turned down. And if the gain on the microphones is turned down, then the smaller speakers will sound extremely quiet. I can go in an adjust the gain in post for the smaller speakers, but then the comparison wouldn’t be true to life.
@@GYMCADDY That's not a dig against your videos, your channel is very helpful. It's everyone's videos, keeping the volume of the big speaker down to a lower level. I'm looking around for a new speaker and just would love to know what that extra 25% can do over the cheaper smaller options. 👍
The XG-500 has serious bass masking (typical Sony), the XG-300 sounds better without EQ - even though with almost no base, but still the winner from this group for size, sound, and price. The XG-500 needs EQ to shelve the resonant upper base frequencies down, then it would have the best sound from this bunch. Still, for the price the sound is not very good - as the review says.
But I'm trying to get the JBL Boombox 2 because the xg500 sounds fine but the JBL Boombox 2 sounds better outside thanks to its more brighter sound signature

I do expect most people to use the XE200 XE300 at an even higher volume then the XG300 making the battery life on both the speakers drain even faster
