Punk vs Steve Austin in early 2010s would have been epic. I don't know about the match but imagine the promo wars in the lead up to the match. Missed opportunity.

@@jack_green re-watch the video. Punk says there was a brief moment when it looked like that match with Austin was going to happen. Hence missed opportunity. You should always watch the sit down interview punk had with Austin and Jim Ross. It's brilliant.

How he never mainevented Wrestlemania is a complete joke 2011-2013 should’ve got one of those main events
He should have main evented 29 along with Cena and Rock. It just should have been a triple threat. Especially since Rock and Cena already had a one on one match. He should have won too.
I would have put Dolph Ziggler in the match with Taker. It would have raised Dolph’s profile (the same way matches with Taker did to Triple H, Orton, and Batista) and you know Dolph would have made Taker look great. He would have sold his ass off and hid all of Old Man Taker’s limitations (the same way Punk did). Then the next night would have been even better when Dolph cashes in on Del Rio.
@@sochioranmyaku It should have been a triple threat, Cena pins the Rock to win and gets that "beat the rock" on his record, then Punk can say he never lost and go with his "i was wronged" aspect of his character to chase for the title back as the story going forward

CM Punk vs Stone Cold is THE dream match. Two characters that are polar opposites yet are so so similar.
Opposite but similar. Punk is definitely the Austin of that era. The torch was never passed, so maybe that's why the industry has derailed, but there is no one like either of them today.
Eh they’re not really polar opposites as characters, they were playing almost the same role lol, just with different styles. Both anti-establishment, anti-corporate “I’ll do what I want” rebels.
@@TheWebAdict nah Bryan was the Austin of that era. The fans loved Bryan no matter what. Cena was Rock and Punk was HHH because of his backstage politics, cheating on a Gf to marry someone else and constant need to have the title while refusing to put others over.
@@HSMak "Polar Opposites yet so similiar" they are similiar in both of their characters being Rebels going against The Authority - but they are opposites in that CM Punk was Straight Edge and so he doesnt drink smoke or do drugs - While Steve Austin was always drinking beer. the sort of differences that were at play in his feud with Jeff Hardy also. i guess thats what people mean when they say that - both rebels, but with different life styles.

The reason no one ever asked Stone Cold to do anything is because THEY HAVE TO FOLLOW A SCRIPT and most superstars wouldn't step out of line to talk to a "legend" that wasn't part of their angle. Today is even more micro-managed. If Cesaro went up to Goldberg and asked about a match, Cesaro would be suspended two seconds later and thats a fact.
Pretty sure I was at that San Diego show he was talking about. My first time at a wrestling event and I had no fuckin clue who Steve Austin was. Bret Hart was there too. That dark match was with Rey and I don’t remember if Steve came out and stunnered him, but holy shit I just got a flood of memories back.

He wants the Lesnar/Rock schedule. Lesnar/Rock come back for a few matches and main event all the PPV's and win titles. Unfortunately, he has never done anything even close to what those guys have done to get that. To be honest, punk is amazing with a mic. I don't care much about his matches as much as the build-up to those matches, in WWE there are far better wrestlers than he ever was Rollins, Styles, Bryan and even John Morrison.

Hypothetically if he still comes back, even then they won't give him the main event at Wrestlemania. He should have main evented wrestlemania in 2013 because that was the perfect timing and placement for him. Rock vs Cena in 2012 wasn't so great that you had to follow it up again the next year in the same slot. He just knows that the company has got nothing worthy which it can offer.

Would have loved a CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan main event at Wrestlemania when Bryan was at the height of his popularity. You could of had Punk as the heel and it would have been absolutely incredible! You could of even had Punk be a servant of the authority(deep down would have hated this but would have still killed it.) and you could have done an angle around Royal Rumble where he shocked everyone and joined the authority and people would have absolutely hated him for it. I think that even with this being his first Wrestlemania main event, he would have put Bryan over in a heartbeat. Damn, even without all of that, by having them both babyfaces and detailing their history dating back to Ring of Honor, you would STILL of had the potential for record numbers. Damn, if only they gave the guy a month or two off!

I’ve watched wrestling all my life and I never really heard about cm punk I did but wasn’t interested in him lol but I will say the last couple years of his career was great
I kinda wish there were footage of that dark match of Stone Cold shocking the arena, coming out, and giving all the heels a stunner to cap off the show. That would've been amazing. The pop it would've received would've been epic.
