@@noobmaster8155 Can you explain to me what it is about Josh Middleton that you are hearing that is unique? I love his screams, but it sounds like pretty straightforward fry screams in my opinion... and if you are talking about the "pitched" screaming like at the end of "I sever", it's deceptive. The melody of the synth in the background coupled with what I believe to be clean vocals low in the mix make it sound much more pitched than it really is. It's a great mixing technique, but not his screaming that causes it. Watch live version if you don't want to take my word for it. But if there's something else I haven't heard (I am not hugely familiar with the band) I'd love to hear it. I know I am not who you were asking for an explanation, but I am curious.

Then, I think the Voice Hacks channel got me into calling them "shouts". But I can see where "Pitched scream" is probably the best term for it. Sounds like theirs an imbalance of how you’re creating the sound. Usually this is the result of constricting the throat or pushing too hard to force the sounds out. These vocals are all about balance and doing the least amount of work to get the maximum amount of output. Check out our videos on breathing for metal vocals and power ≠ tone for more info on that.
You may need to go back to the foundation of how you’re getting to the sound in the first place. Hope that helps and if you need more help you call feel free to reach out for a lesson via our website: extremevocalinstitute.con/private-lessons

Everyone talks about basic bitch screamers like Chester Bennington, but no one talks about more unique screamers like Austin Carlile or Sean McWeeney (The Saftey Fire). Probably because no one will ever know how lol

Hi! We understand that people have different styles of learning. We have an entire series of videos where David just breaks down certain sounds without speaking at all. David puts a lot of effort into explaining things in a way that everyone can understand and sometimes that does mean repeating things. Thanks for the feedback though!

"back to Linkin Park". .. .dude ... how about fucking Zeppelin, the Guess Who or even Nirvana if you want to look at "later" bands. LP are a bad joke -- the illusion of danger while being perfectly void of any actual edge or danger. like a rollercoaster. Smooth and ready for radio and mass consumption.

Hi! This video wasn’t about vocal demonstrations as much as it was about the differences in the types of vocals. We have a series called 30 Second Voice Lessons that you might like a bit more if you’re interested in vocal demonstrations. You can find some of the examples on our channel or you call follow our Instagram or David’s TikTok for more of that!
