Hi Phil - always love your videos and how easy you explain and make things. Im 44 and started this "hobby" about 5 years ago. Ive been hooked every since. Being a bit older and having an established job allowed me to purchase beginner equip and move up as I grew my skills. I have DJ'd sweet 16's and other parties lately but have been afraid to step into the wedding world. Its the typical fear - not good enough, dont know what to do, afraid to ruin their biggest day etc. This course would be huge for me as well as the newbies looking to make their mark. Please make it - there are many of us who would watch and appreciate you passing along this knowledge. Thx and keep up the awesome work. You are making new DJ's every day!!!!
They all sound like good topics! Not only for the beginner, but those who retired and are getting back into business... Things have changed, and it would be a benefit to me to see some new things! . I did wedding and party DJs in the 1980s and 1990s, and retired the mixer and players, and 400+ pounds of media I drug around... and the large format speakers! I have been picking up with Virtual DJ, for the last several years, and done a couple weddings. I have been lucky enough to have gotten more conservative clientele, but don't know how many younger clientele I am losing from being too 'out of it'.
Great job man I really like your videos, one more thing need to know, what equipment should I buy as a new or beginner to DJ?like what kind of speakers, lights and mic? Thanks
Hi Phil, I'm 37 and just starting out learning to dj. Love all the videos and I'd really like to know how to build my dj business. Any help would be grate. Would love to see you set up and see what lights to get stuff about dmx etc. Keep up the great work.
Wedding DJ for the past two years at a specific venue but would love to learn how to broaden my horizons to other venues/marketing side of things, would love to see this vid👍👍👍
I'm really interested Phil in knowing how to make a business with Djing, I've been Djing for a while but that was just for fun, now I want to make things serious
I don't think you should do JUST dj weddings I feel you should do all gigs in general. But you could make a separate course for weddings because as you said there's a broad range of people you may have to appeal to.
Hi Phil, awesome video like always! You‘ve helped me getting into djing.. What I don‘t really know is how to start a gig? Like if you start playing on a wedding which songs do you play first? And for a houseparty it‘s probably different.. I‘m feeling comfortable when I‘m in a specific genre but the start and the switch to another genre is hard.. Maybe you or someone can give me some tips for that? Thanks in advance :)
@@DJPhilHarris can you please advise more on this? I'd like to be able to do djing weddings and small events as a small business, are you able to do a video on how to get started and all the details needed in what to do and how to go about it all?
Awesome and helpful vid! Would love more advice on SEO and setting up the site properly. Also, is it weird that I’d prefer to do corporate events, restaurants etc over weddings? I mean you would probably be playing most of the same music. Anyways, thanks again for the vid!
There is definitely a repetition to all Djing. People in the whole are quite predictable and generally all like similar music. Therefore you do always find yourself playing the same songs for certain crowds. I think that is the nature of the beast. If you were famous, this would be amplified. Martin Garrix has probably played “Animals” at every gig he has ever done.
Hey dude this was a great inspirational video. I'm located in barrie, ontario(in canada) and im actually trying myself to get in the wedding industry being a dj. It will be great if you can give more advice and more videos to help me get something going as well.
This is such a great video, I would love, as well as your other subscribers, to learn all the skills you talk about in this video step by step, I would love this to be honest let's do it!
