The Fairfield is one of my favorite Timex watches, I've done a few comparisons against other Timex watches and against MVMT and the Fairfield usually comes out on top. They're a much better value than MVMT or DW. There's some Chinese automatics from Guanqin and Cadisen are some of the few watches out there that I would consider a better bang for the buck than the Fairfield. You can get those for about the same price as the Fairfield but with a sapphire crystal, full stainless steel case and a Seiko automatic movement.
Great video Ben. I originally bought MVMT and Vincero when I watched alpha.m. Several years ago, I sold those watches and bought Tissot, Orient, Citizen, and Timex pieces. I have the Fairfield and it’s a great watch. Thanks for promoting quality brands.
Usually there’s two sides to what kind of watches to get. If you are only interested in a fashion piece to go with your outfit and like having a known brand associated with your look then fashion watches are right for you. Then there are those more interested in horology. Personally, I feel fashion is great to get you noticed but knowing about your timepiece’s history and its movement is what completes the package in terms of presenting yourself. Great video 👍
Fashion watches are perfectly legit, if you get them at a reasonable price-quality ratio and/or from reputable brands. I was a fashion addicted yuppie back in my better years, but back then, fashion meant branding and exclusivity. Not cheap Chinese 10-20$ junk sold for 150/200+ with a pseudo "brand" slapped on them. That's what's wrong with this MVMT, Vincero, DW & Co wannabe-"luxury" Alibaba trash.
Come on, now. We all know that the a MVMT watch works best when you wear your shirts unbuttoned half way down your chest (or a T-shirt you brought in to be tailored), two earrings and skinny jeans.

As a result, I just purchased three TIMEX Fairfields with a white face and silver case, a hybrid stainless steel link outside/mesh inside band to permanently attach to one of them, a quick-release black leather band, and three quick release silicone straps (red, white, and black).
I own 2 rolexes, 1 AP, 1 tissot, 2 seiko and 3 timex...and I definetly can tell that timex watches arent bad at all!! and i mostly wear them, while keep my luxury watches in shape for special occasions))
name changes Tissot watches are pretty solid. I own a high end Bulova watch. It’s really nice and I was given it by my dad, and he’s had it for over 5 years. Still in amazing shape and the face is still not scratched. I also own two Tissot watches, which I wear to change up my watch game.
As a beginner watch collector I find timex to be a great deal. Not only are the new watches cheap, but you can literally find vintage pieces from the 1960s in perfect condition that would have the same design and sometimes even better specs. Moreover they will actually make you stand out more than any mvmt ever would.

Timex is a great affordable watch that's made here in Philippines then sent to U.S.A. for selling. Yup Amazon has good price for timex watches than on the Timex website or here in our country. The only thing i dislike about timex is their case isn't made of stainless steel but brass. Once scratched deep it will show the real metal underneath.

Great vid Ben! You should do a Summer body special where you start off as you are and do a intro into the gym and different exercises. You could collab with someone in the stoke area I know a good trainer in Leek who ran his own gyms if you need a hook up. Your channel is ace, one of my fave Men's lifestyle channels but the fitness market is quite big and if you do it well you could really boost your subs. I think people would dig an intro to fitness with the normal guy vibe. Keep up the good work (y)

What are you thoughts on Egard Watches and specifically the Evarii collection? (this watch company made a "response" video to the Gilette commerical and it blew up! Almost all their watches are still sold out right now..) do you think their watches are worth it?
Brass probably costs more than stainless steel in this day and age. I love the look off polished in unplated brass. It's softer than stainless, so it could pick up a few dings, but that just adds character.
I love my Timex: My Scout 40 ( Black case, khaki face black numerals and hands with lumin, is 7 going on 8 YO. I had to replace the strap because I snagged it on a lag bolt 30 feet in the air it hit a picket fence and landed face down in grass, it's still ticking and still accurate enough for even some government work : ). Been in pools, showers, lakes ( no salt water ) mud, underground etc. and unlike some complaints, mine is quiet at normal viewing distance, can't hear the tick until it's 3 or less inches from my ear. Will I buy this again ? hell yeah; it out lasted 2 Seikos, a Caravelle, my G Shock which I bought after this ( the solar charger stopped working after 3 years. Not a bad watch for 35 dollars. I just bought an Armitron - 20/4935BKTB; let's see how many years I get out of this ( though it may not get the abuse as the Timex ).

I would recommend looking at a site like aliexpress where you can get a watch like a starking for around £40. These watches come with sapphire crystal and an automatic movement and wipe the floor with any of the watches you talk about in the video.

I wonder if one difference between timeless style and minimalist fashion is the ratio of wrist size to watch face. The watch is fine, but I think in this particular case the wrist is a little too small for it. Makes it tough to know how it actually wears. If it wears too big, it might as well be that $3 Chinese watch because it's going to look ridiculous regardless.
Sure, Timex is way better than DW and MVNT watches, however I totally disagree on the value for money aspect of your video. For me quartz watches should be £50 or under, and anything above that is overpriced for quartz, unless it's a meca-quartz Chrono. I feel you need to do more research, as you can get a Chinese watch by the name of Cadisen with Automatic movements for sometimes under £50. They have a Japanese Seiko NH36 movement and the minimal design that you are talking about too.

No matter how much you talk them down, as soon as you see them next to something else, they win. Nothing looks as good as a DW.
