Selena Quintanilla-Pérez (Spanish: [seˈlena kintaˈniʝa ˈpeɾes]; April 16, 1971 - March 31, 1995) was an American singer, songwriter, spokesperson, model, actress, and fashion designer. Called the Queen of Tejano music, her contributions to music and fashion made her one of the most celebrated Mexican-American entertainers of the late 20th century. Billboard magazine named her the top-selling Latin artist of the 1990s decade, while her posthumous collaboration with MAC cosmetics became the best-selling celebrity collection in cosmetics history. Media outlets called her the "Tejano Madonna" for her clothing choices.[a] She also ranks among the most influential Latin artists of all time and is credited for catapulting a music genre into the mainstream market.
The Selena Museum was built by the Quintanilla family as a memorial for Selena fans and showcases many of Selena's stage costumes, collections and memorabilia including her red Porsche.
Selena’s legacy lives on through her music and her memorial. She inspired many books, a movie and other creative works. Mirador del la Flor, or Overlook of the Flower, was unveiled in 1997 to honor Selena Quintanilla and her contributions to music and Corpus Christi. The life-size bronze statue of Selena was sculpted by H.W. “Buddy” Tatus, a Corpus Christi artist. Every year, over 30,000 people come from around the world to visit the memorial, only a few miles from Seaside Memorial Park where Selena is buried.
We were just there last year and I got to meet her daddy! Such a nice man ♥️
We went to all the famous sites and saw her home. Being in Corpus and seeing this in person is so surreal.
I love your kindness, love and respect to Selena’s memory to her family , friends and fans by giving them this truthfully joyful video celebration of her amazing life
Thank you so much Denise
Took my family to Selena's museum boy talk about feeling her spirits walking around in there miss you Selena the queen of Tejano
Roger Barrera the family changes it so much it’s not worth going to anymore!! If you would have seen it 15 yrs ago it was worth the money not now!!
@@tammylopez8502 What did they change that makes it not worth going?
Steph V they used to have more things in it. I think they had other rooms but blocked them off now. There was actually shirts that had her makeup still on them. Now it’s just blah!!!
She is gone to us at a young age but her music will forever remembered and live on❤️✨👏🏻👏🏻. Bravo Selena.
I am lucky to have a Selena doll that I bought for my 9 year old ... she absolutely loves Selena ... thank you so much for this 💕
That’s so cute and thank you !
A beautiful tribute to the very talented singer Selena..May she rest in peace..!!👍👍
I remember very vividly where I was when I heard she passed. I remember crying in back of our van as we were driving home. I was old enough to understand what happened and it broke my heart. She is one of my all time favorite singers. Such a beautiful voice. Her Dreaming of You album was my first CD and I'm almost positive I still have it. Hopefully one day I will make it to Texas to visit these places myself.
Thank you for taking us with you Mr tape ❤
She achieved so much and would have went on to achieve much more. One in a gazillion 💜 anything for you babygirl!
I will always be a big fan of Selena, she was my idol and she was so beautiful and talented! Selena will always be in our hearts! ❤
I had the opportunity to visit Corpus Christi, TX on the week of Selena’s birthday last year. I got to visit her museum, statue by the bay and sadly her grave at the Seaside memorial. I will never forget on my first visit. I loved all your pictures in your videos. You are lucky to visit some places I never visited. Hopefully someday when I come back next year to visit on her 50th birthday. Can’t wait. #Selenaforever 🌹🎤🎶
Corpus is beautiful just like Selena. Thank you so much for watching

Great video. Loved seeing how the boutique looked, viewing the museum, and the memorial near the beach, etc.
She was actually 5'5''. She mentioned it once. Thanks for taking us to all those cool locations! Why does the memorial say 1972 though? Selena was born in '71...
lune78 hmmm 🤔🤨 I dunno 🤷♂️
I was thinking the same thing!? She was born in 1971 how can they mess up like that!?
@LauryB you're right great catching that there.

Wow she did so much in her short life . Such a beautiful lady gone to soon so sad. I loved seeing her amazing clothesso and her awards. Her monument with her statue and rose is so beautiful especially overlooking a beautiful harbour clear blue sea just amazing. Thanks again ❤️ Gill UK 🇬🇧

I live about 1/2 mile from where her boutique was. I used to walk past her boutique when I was going to or coming from work. The only time I went in was after her passing to buy 3 Selena dolls for my friend's daughters.
Oh wow , that’s so interesting that u live near there. Love corpus !
Great vlog! Selena's museum has some really beautiful clothing and her boutique was very sweet. Corpus Christi did an excellent job with the white rose and her statue memorial. Thank you for showing this Scott! Sharing this on my Facebook page.

Love these visuals omg
Thank you so much
I've watched so many museum videos since I live in Canada and really far from there lol. But there was so much you filmed that most people never show.
This was beautifully and respectfully filmed thank you. It's hard looking at her cell phone knowing she dropped it while running to the lobby after she tragically got shot 🥺
Jenn Reeves thank you so much Jenn, I really appreciate that. And yes it was difficult to see the cell phone
Your tour of the Selena Museum was awesome! Even through your pictures, I still became emotional looking at her memorabilia.
Thank you!!!

Loved the video! I really want to go visit Corpus Christi and San Antonio. But thanks for the video!! Gets me excited to go visit these places as well! I remember watching the Selena movie when I was kid and listened to her music growing up because my great grandmother loved her she much and was very sad when she found out about her death. Again thank you for the video! Can’t wait to go one day!!

Thank you Scott Selena will always be loved and never forgotten ❤️
I love your Selena videos Scott although they are bittersweet. I believe the dress she wore in the No Me Que Da Mas video was the same dress she wore when she won her Grammy. Thank you for this video Scott. RIP Selena. 💜🙏
I swear those kids were also at Hollywood Forever cemetery the other day swinging on the Anton Yelchin statue.
Great video! I’m not the biggest fan of Selena but she does have a special place in my heart. If that makes sense.
RIP beautiful angel ❤😥
Very nice Scott. She’s still such a iconic person. I live where the death house of Jessie James it’s pretty cool. If interested.
Scott....well done brother. You truly are one of the best to do locations and gravesites, and I'm not just saying it because you're my friend. Awesome job brother. ✌
Thanks Marques. Can’t wait to share the videos we made with Vianey soon. That was an awesome day we spent together

Oh my goodness that background music is beautiful, it went wonderful with the pictures! It had me thinking about her and looking at all of the things she accomplishments just got very emotional.
Yes
Excellent video - thank you 😘
Beautifully done,Brought tears to my eyes, thanks Scott
Thanks Matthew ✌🏽✌🏿✌🏽✌🏿
I love the picture I saw of something I didn't know about Selena. She wore her hair braided 🌹💜🦋!!
Once again, a well-done vlog, my man...👏👏
Thanks for taking us along and keeping Selena alive. Just with the pictures in the museum, it was emotional.
Bar those kids running like animals in an area not meant to be in, thus why it was blocked off, I really enjoyed this vlog, thanks!
Very nice. I love Selena ❤️❤️
I plan on going down at some point. Seeing all of her things, man talk about EMOCIONAL! Does anyone ever get choked up during their time in the museum I wonder?
I'd never heard of this girl until you did the video at her grave. This is another lovely video ~Karin~
Which world do you live in?
Wow! 😮 Have you not heard of 2Pac either…
Scott. You are such a great story teller, I watch videos of topics I am not overly interested in. You educated me today, thank you.
Super Bowl this year should have been JLo, Shakira and Selena. 😢
Sara G. Agreed!
Sara G. And maybe Gloria Estefan
Um...why JHo or shakira??? should of been totally dedicated to Selena..JHo did a horrible job playing her..which every movie she is in sucks anyways hahaha ...Shakira has done what??
There would be no Jlo if Selena was alive
Whimsical Marshmellow She wouldn’t have been known as Selena, but she would’ve made her way in the business. Just because Selena was talented doesn’t diminish what JLo has accomplished as well! Selena would be embarrassed y’all were talking of another woman that way.
Thanks for the awesome video Scott !! Unfortunately I didn't know about Selena until after she passed . Love the videos .
Hey Scott your Pittsburgh friend Michelle here. Great video of Selena and thanks so much for thinking of her and her life. I hope one day I can make it to Corpus Kristi and see her grave one day. Thanks for doing this for some who will never make it to Corpus. You have a great day!😘♥️
Selena Boutique in San Antonio closed in October 30,2001 and the one in corpus closed in 2009
Selena 🌹, great video
hello Scott' I take the museum must be run by her family? She was 5'5"...by the way. Nice job of continuing her story. I enjoyed it very much!!!
Wally Weener yup her family runs it to this day
Good stuff Scott on tape!👏
Thanks Orlando!
I mean David !!
I used to work right across the street! Accross from the old boutique when I was a teen it was still the boutique and I still have clothes and a doll that have tags still on them.
Thank you for sharing this with us.. One day I will make out there but for now, your video will do :)
Thank you Laura I do indeed hope you get to go
That was neat! Thanks so much loved it!
Another brilliant video, well done scott, love watching these atm mate. 👍👍
The Corpus Christi artist did a fantastic job in sculpturing the bronze statue of Selena. I like it a lot. The beautiful white rose looks beautiful too. It attracts many tourists.
Loved it!! Very well done!!
Indeed!
@@marquesalston9227 remember we almost got locked in? Lol
@@mynameisvna lol....that was fun...I was thinking we might have to jump the fence...haha
Love the Selena videos!!❤️🇨🇦
Hey Scott 👋
Such a lovely Selena video 💕
R.I.P Selena
Thanks for this sweet videos about Selena, Scott! I really enjoyed them! But I'm a little bit confused, Selena got married at San Antonio or they where in Corpus Christi?
She was married in Corpus then went to San Antonio for a bit then when the news broke she went back to Corpus with Chris and that’s when her father finally gave his blessing. Thank you for watching!
I met Selena in 1993 in San Antonio. I saw her 2 weeks prior to her tragic passing. She last performed at a San Antonio Spurs School Jamboree at the Alamodome, the last San Antonio performance.
Very cool to see this
This had me in tears. I've been a huge selena fan since I was 7. Still cant believe shes gone. I want to one day go to texas visit her museum and lay some white Roses on her grave she gave us Latina and hispanic women a voice and paved the way!! She was so young. May she forever rest on peace!
Ozzy FanGirl you won’t be able to lay a rose on her grave!! The fence around it is taller now and you will only be able to throw it over.
Beautiful video for selena
This is SO COOL! I CAN'T WAIT TO GO!!
Scott loved the video. You do an excellent job with your videos. Love the Selena ones.
Another great job. Need to come to Clovis New Mexico and do on the Baker buried in cemetery she was murdered.
May 31, 2021: Thanks very much for this sad but important video. Katryna
Came here after your other Selena video. Thank you for making this video as well.
I laughed at "rollerblades. Living the dream".
Very good videos
Her first boutique opened January of 1994. The one in San Antonio opened October of 1994

Thank you so much! Much more to come here on the channel!
Again Thanks
I’m read her book to Selena with love from her husband Chris Perez
Was it good I've been wanting to read that
Edward Long I’m almost done with the book and yes, it’s good! Feel really sorry for Chris her husband. He took a lot of crap from her family and the band.
I just finished the book.. it was sooo beautifully written by chris. I loved how i got to see selena thru his eyes that obviously wasnt privvy to the public. They really did have an unspeakable bond and was sad to read that they purchased land where they were gonna build a house and finally start a family. Chris refers to Yolanda as cancer which pretty much sums it up for me. Rest in peace Selena 😭
InMahBoohole it was a good book and it broke my heart. I could actually feel Chris pain and I learn things I never knew before. He was so honest about their life together. I’m a bigger fan now.
@@cindyslater7653 oh agreed! It breaks my heart that he never got to say goodbye 😭
Thanks so much for sharing this.
I'm late to the game on this tape, but Selena... her voice and beauty and Sweetness are still with her fans. I watched in horror the 9 hour standoff in real time with her murderer holed up in her truck on one of the network coverage up until the murderer surrendered. And I really liked her husband and since her death there's been talk about Selena's father supposedly treating Chris, her husband, badly since her murder. Any thoughts on her father's treatment of Selena's widower?
Good job
All of her stuff at the museum. Her clothes she used to wear to sing. She was wonderful to music.
Good job Scott
Anything for selenas 🌷
