Hi captain. Your videos are excellent. You offer so much information. I appreciate that since I am new to salmon fishing on Lake Huron. We also use the 50 50 method. My son was asking the significance of the 50 foot from the weight. Why not less? Does the weight of the spoon and 50 feet of line add to the depth significantly.
I can't find these HotFish spoons on the internet... Only a very limited selection. Maybe you could post a link to products? I know... pain in the a**! I'll find a similar spoon... Thanks for other info tho! bill o
You mention a fixed cheater, do you have a simple or video of your fixed cheater. I have so many knock offs, I'm thinking it's the slider. I'm mostly fishing Georgian Bay. Hot Fish lures is that Tony from Owen Sound ?
thanks for the great video! i noticed you are wearing a lighthouse lures hat. have you considered pulling a pink needlefish jughead for these offshore rainbows and coho? cheers!
With the king bite a little slower this year at least on the south shore, I’m looking to put more fish in the boat and this video was very helpful for targeting coho and chrome… BUT what about a mixed presentation for both…. I’d hate to abandon those kings! Maybe coho/chrome baits on high divers or one side with the long lines?
I’ve done them with an aerosol gloss you can buy at Home Depot before. Now I use 2 part automotive clear since I have a connection for that but for hobby use I would suggest 4-5 coats (not too thick) of an aerosol gloss works. Just do light coats and it should turn out nice..
Any thoughts on locating coho and steelhead in deep water (at least narrowing down the area) or is it mostly troll around until you find them? I know some fish will orient to structure even if its hundreds of feet below them but im pretty new to targeting silver fish.
In regards to running flaher and dodger at the same time. What speed do you run as to fast the dodger spins and to slow the flasher won't spin properly.
I typically run at 2.0-2.2mph (fishhawk down speed) which might seem a bit slow for when I also have spoons out however I use the Hotfish spoons which are thinner than a typical mag spoon so I can make everything work well together.

I've used Acme Little Cleo Spoons in spring, fire-dot, fire-tiger often on a cheater-line too.
Great stuff 👍

I’ve never tried that... I do have some jug heads and will give it a go this summer.
@@KingsLandingSportFishing I will definetly be giving it a shot. I think tiny green jugheads with the selection of rotators you have will kill it !

You said you clear coat after you spray paint. What brand and what sheen? Gloss? Thanks and awesome video!

Typically I find them out in 350-450 and I look for down temperatures around 50-56F. That works for me…

How long are your fixed sliders
I normally do 8 feet
Where can i get one of those wonderbread 8 in flashers like the one hanging up behind you?
Where are you located?
@@KingsLandingSportFishing I’m in Michigan. Is that on an echip flasher? I can’t find wonderbread anywhere.
Do you add scent to the tube flies? Never used one before.
Personally I don’t ... But some swear by running scent so you can run a little if you’d like.
