It’s insane how stupidly ahead of its time Crysis 2 was visually.
Especially the PC version with DX11.
@@Inhuman0 True, but even the Xbox 360 version holds up really well (aside from the frame rate) given how limited the hardware was.

I thought it looked like crap myself. Even after the DX11 update it was a dull looking game to me with some horrible textures even with the hi res pack. I dont think it aged well either.

deep down i was looking forward to a new original story driven title from Crytek but given the downsized overall production staff and the limited financial resources i understand. anyway looking forward to Crytek's bright future. CryEngine really needs attention from big name game companies.
Unfortunately the investment in CryEngine is on the investor's list 😕
The tech is very good and the team is passionate, yet somehow they do not recover fast and the competition is high across the industry with UE leading.

i find original to look better in most cases then remastered, just has more crysis DNA in it. Remaster looks ... dunno ... super clean and clinical.

What? On Xbox360 Crysis series was sub 720p and run with ~20 FPS in lot of cases. How can that be better then ~1440p with 60 FPS?
What about PC Steam release?
Slow it down, you dont release a comparison trailer with only 2 seconds of comparison... you did this because its just the PC versions of each game on console, didn't you?
Lol you know it... Just ports from the PC version... (and if we remember how crysis 1 remastered went on PC, is gonna be just below average its reception)
But this is the Xbox One X version running on Xbox Series X, right? It is not a native version for the new console

Because... it's not the target audience. The remaster is made for console gamers primarily to enjoy a PC-like experience for the first time... I'm happy for them. Sure they have added a couple of modern rendering features, as they should. But the biggest change will be for console gamers. PC gamers have enjoyed high frame rates and resolutions for quite some time.... X360 and PS3 version, although impressive, were severely hampered by bad frame rates and poor visual quality (don't get me wrong, it's a miracle that they ran on the consoles, but with today's standards, it's not a great experience)

Original game looks so good that even remaster doesn't look much better.
For me that's not worth it
Unfortunately, Crytek no longer has the resources to pull off that sort of technology nowadays. This remaster only serves a purpose to fund some of their projects.
You should be ashamed because maldo 4.0 Texture mod looks better than your 'remastered' Crysis 2 Version.

i want to see the intro of crysis 2 remastered.
Too bad Crysis 2 and 3 had to be dumb downed from an "open world jungle" to a linear NYC to work on 360 and PS3 hardware from a game design point. Now that we have powerful consoles on par with pc maybe a Crysis 4 can be made without limiting the scope of the game.

Crytek isn't greedy, they are bankrupt. Saber Interactive remastered the game, not them. This remaster will fund their next crysis game likely as they went bankrupt not so long ago. It's the dark age for a such a great company. Understand their motivations without being governed by your feelings.

Pure garbage. Made for Conslows only. Stick to original PC releases guys just ignore this, they are simply milking the IP with cheap remaster and using EGS money to make a new Multiplayer game.
