the iphone 4 has to be the greatest smartphone of all time! it was announced in summer 2010, still its great the s2 is the second best smartphone for now.
iPhone 5 is probably one of the biggest changes made by a single generation...improved charger, headphone port on the bottom, longer screen, strong lens cover, faster, thinner, and lighter
I agree. Every other iPhone has had something new to offer. This one just gives a bigger screen, which still doesn't come close to Androids. It's not bad, just not a game-changer.
I like how at 2:11 When comparing the iphone 5 to the old one, he dimmed the old screen to make it look like there was actually a difference in display. Good going
It's flagship, not overrated. It deserves that title because it defines this year of Androids with its quad-core processor, 4.8 inch screen, and 2200 mAh battery. Also, Samsung are advertising it a lot, so of course people know about it.
On a CDMA network, Verizon, you can't click the home button and go straight to an app that requires data or the internet for any reason. I believe, however, with the iPhone 5.. (havent tried it yet) that as long as you're connected to wifi you can use this feature.
@Fuentes381 T-Mobile does not have LTE T-Mobile is currently only running on hspa+ 4g which is not LTE. So no the iPhone 5 4g LTE connection is not supported with T-Mobile if you may happen to get an unlocked one you would only get the E which is edge connection.
I'm not sure why @ 3:08ish he says you can't use voice and data on the Verizon Wireless version of the the iPhone 5, it's an LTE device, voice and data work simultaneously on the LTE Android phones, there's no difference on the iPhone 5. Voice and Data will work at the same time on the Verizon Wireless model.
I have to wait until April to upgrade to the 5. I think the iPhone 4, 4s and now the 5 look very iconic. If the iPhone look different every year, it wouldn't be an iPhone.
How old is your android? The last 2 phones I have owned have both been Android, and I have used them for around 3-4 years combined, and not once did my android crash, so I am not sure what you are talking about. Android used to be less stable when it first came out but that has long been fixed with new versions. And no, specs aren't everything but they contribute a lot to the performance of a phone.
Okay so my mobile carrier is verizon, I have never owned a smartphone and want to know how much the iPhone 5 will truly cost me? Will it cost $200 or $650?
I'd love to. On top of the iPhone being faster than the S3, it has a better display (in terms of pixels AND colour). The display is the perfect size for ergonomics. It has a far superior build quality and uses premium materials. It has a more elegant OS which is not only easy to use and fluid, but also powerful. It has a better camera, and also has the best, and largest collection of apps with awesome apps like iMovie and Keynote. All in a phone that's thinner and lighter.
should i wait for the iphone 5(s)/5 or get another android like the one x+ i have a HTC insprire and i had a 3gs before i got the HTC but wanted to try out android and i like it alot but i miss apple
Dropbox came out first on iOS but iCloud is different. It's not just a harddrive in the cloud but a way of syncing all you files with all you devices. This means that if you edit a document on you computer, it's already changed when you pick up your phone etc. The iPhone 5 has been proven to be faster than the S3 which at first would seem surprising as it looks inferior on paper but in real life use, it's faster, which is what's important
I'm new to the iPhone, I've got an HTC One X atm. I've had it since April. I've got a new job and I'm thinking of changing my phone to either this or the Samsung Galaxy S3. What do you recommend?
Think i'll wait for the iPhone 6. I purchased my iPhone 4 when it first came out and have never had a problem with it. As long as you keep the software up to date, it shouldn't give any problems. Even the battery on mine still lasts on average 3 days, depending how I use it.
iPhone 5 = Boss I'm still debating around what phone to get. iPhone 5 (A decent valuable upgrade from the 4S. I have an iPad -Matchy Matchy?) Lumia 920 (The amount of apps kills me, but the advanced features are very attractive) Galaxy S3 (Amazing phone - i love it every time I use it.) Galaxy Note II (Really want and will help a lot) HTC One X5 (Rumored, but the amazing construction of the One X as a Phablet - Techgasm) What do you guys think?
Hardware specs are not everything. What's important is how the phones run in real life. The iPhone 5 outperforms the S3 in pretty much every category when they are put head to head on those benchmark tests. The reason for this is that the A6 chip is designed ONLY for the iPhone 5 which means it runs better, even if on paper it may not seem to be as powerful.
I find Android has more features than iOS. 1. File browser: allowing me to basically use my phone as a flash drive, and also gives capabilities to put files like documents and spreadsheets on it. 2. Share API: allows developers to allow me to share any file, such as Dropbox allowing an upload button for any file I download off the internet. 3. Custom keyboards, launchers, etc.: just to completely personalise my experience. iOS is more contained and stable, but I feel Android has more features.
I WISH they maxed the screen out on the sides, with no border.. like some of the concept pictures. they're saving that for the 6 (already in the works. fact)
Okay, what people don't understand is that the iPhone is simply user friendly and it's so easy to use. The design is sleek and the iPhone 5 isn't getting much credit as it deserves because it actually has come a long way. The problem with Androids and Samsungs phones are so big and bulky. It's the exact opposite when it comes to user friendly mess because it'll take you a good week or two to finally get a handle on your android however with the iPhone it will only take you a day or two
Most mobile phone makers ADD network compatibility to their phones. They don't discard old ones. This phone supports GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA (3G), HSDPA +, DC HSDPA and LTE (4G).
What's the difference of the last one? More thin?! God I hope you could see reality. Honestly I would choose from the Iphone 3gs to Iphone 4S than Iphone 5
as a fan of gaming, browsing, videos and pictures on my phone, screen size and resolution is extremely important to me. browsing a webpage on an iphone for me feels compressed, the screen puts it into this tiny format. On an SIII, I can see everything fine. And for the average adult male handsize, the SIII is fine. 4G and cloud is not really revolutionary. 4G has been in android phones since a year and dropbox has been with android for ages. It still does not beat the SIII in performance too.
I personally believe 4inches is perfect for a phone. These aren't tablets and have to be small enough to fit easily in your pocket and not feel awkward when using them with one hand. Media on the iPhone 5 is great as it's widescreen. I'm not sure how browsing can feel compressed on the iPhone 5 as it's great, with full screen mode so if fits the entire screen. An average male hand can't use the S3 with one hand. I never said 4G was revolutionary but is great to have. CONTINUED...
Im coming from tmobile and hoping to get a iphone 5. The problem is what service should i get it on! I dont need talking minutes and i live near a major city. I mostly need a serivce that is CHEAP with unlimited data! So Verizon, Sprint, Or AT&T!
Not everyone wants a bigger screen. They take up more space, can hardly fit in your pocket and feel really awkward while using them. The new iPhone's screen is just right as you can not only use it with one hand but is also really portable. The iPhone 5 is by far the fastest Smartphone out there at the moment, has a really awesome camera, 4G LTE, iCloud and a beautiful design. It beats the Galaxy in every category except for screen size (which most people don't care!)
Because on in iPhone you have the most durable screen I've ever used. Because on an iPhone you have the most user friendly interface I've ever seen, and it is something that has been perfected over the years. Because when you buy something Apple you don't buy it for the technology, you buy it for the physical appearance. Thats why people, not yourself clearly still buy iPhones.
Not according to the latest comparisons. The A6 chip in the iPhone is more powerful. The camera is better on the iPhone. (Megapixles are irrelevant - it's all about the lens). If you really like Google maps on the iPhone then you can still use it on the internet on the iPhone and Google are already making an app as well. There's a RUclips app but you can also access it by the internet. You say they make small changes but I don't see any big changes from the S2 to S3...
They looked at it in terms of ease of use.. it's out of the way at the bottom and your headphones won't short out as fast as long as you take care of them and the phone.
@muscleMaddnessV8 While a larger screen is nice, it's not absolutely necessary or ergonomic in some instances. For example, one-handing an S3 compared to a 4s is much harder. The screen size forces you to manipulate your grip when you want to reach the extreme ends of the screen with your thumb.
Personally, I think anything above 4.3 inches is overkill. The original Evo was PERFECT for a phone. And honestly, I think Apple was smart in making the iPhone only 4 inches. It's small enough to keep "on the go" business-minded consumers happy, and big enough to keep media-minded consumers satisfied. The iPhone might fit my lifestyle a little better, who knows. There's only one way to find out...
I have an iphone but I dont hate on androids. They are both way more than anyone needs as far as phones go. The iphone5 has its ups and downs, but it really is a nice phone. Maps isnt as bad as most ppl have been saying either. Its really fast actually and about 95% accurate. Considering that it just came out thats leaps and bounds better than most map apps that arnt google. Is it the best? Maybe, maybe not. I'm sure something better will be out soon. I wouldnt bother if you dont have an upgrade
It's weird because the phonedog webpage I had up that had them benchmarked has gone. However, there are many others. I wasn't talking about their review/comparison of the two phones as that's subjective, but the benchmark tests which show how fast they are in real life. In benchmark tests the iPhone 5 is fastest in pretty much every category. Speed pretty much goes to the iPhone 5. Further aspects such as screen size and OS are down to personal preference.
A decade from its launch, I still have fond memories of using this phone.
the iphone 4 has to be the greatest smartphone of all time! it was announced in summer 2010, still its great
the s2 is the second best smartphone for now.
This is one of the best reviews I've ever seen in my life.
When i plug my iphone 5 into itunes its says i need to download itunes 10.7 or later which ive done but it keeps saying it! Whats wrong?
iPhone 5 is probably one of the biggest changes made by a single generation...improved charger, headphone port on the bottom, longer screen, strong lens cover, faster, thinner, and lighter
yeah, i just ordered it too >
Damn what phone you got now lmao
Congrats on being the 1st to review the iPhone 5 can't wait to get my hands on one
I agree. Every other iPhone has had something new to offer. This one just gives a bigger screen, which still doesn't come close to Androids. It's not bad, just not a game-changer.

I miss my iphone 5 it cracked on july 4th now I have to wait for a new one and the shipping is taking for nigga damn jeez
Did u get it yet?
@@whoasked7318that’s what I wanna know lol

so basically a bigger screen and a smaller hole to plug it in to? I'll be looking more toward the Galaxy s3...
Should I get the I phone 5 ???
Guess what ad I had to watch before this? Yes, Galaxy Tab. RUclips, you so funny. Made my day really.
it does! go to settings > general > software update.
and you will get all the new software features for free!
@Fuentes381 T-Mobile does not have LTE T-Mobile is currently only running on hspa+ 4g which is not LTE. So no the iPhone 5 4g LTE connection is not supported with T-Mobile if you may happen to get an unlocked one you would only get the E which is edge connection.
should i buy this or a 4s? i have verizon and not a fan of android operating system.
im thinking white? and sprint has unlimited data plan but not good lte coverage right?
Does mute help the battery life
I'm not sure why @ 3:08ish he says you can't use voice and data on the Verizon Wireless version of the the iPhone 5, it's an LTE device, voice and data work simultaneously on the LTE Android phones, there's no difference on the iPhone 5. Voice and Data will work at the same time on the Verizon Wireless model.
Will this update be automatic? Or something you gotta download
I have to wait until April to upgrade to the 5. I think the iPhone 4, 4s and now the 5 look very iconic. If the iPhone look different every year, it wouldn't be an iPhone.
Voice and data works on Sprint at the same time - I just tested. It worked under AT&T as well. I believe Verizon non-LTE was the limitation.
How good is this phone ?
Even if I eventually jailbreak the iPhone 5?
Is it me or did the iPhone 5 have a tiny black border all around the screen when viewing videos? Of so that's very weird.
How old is your android? do u think i should get the 4s or the five for to years contract
If you look at them side-side-by-side, there is a difference, but it's not as exaggerated as Cnet made it. It's simply an increase in saturation.
What do you mean by use data and call at the same time?
9 mbs a second? mine is 22, but my friend's used to be 1.5. took 18.6 hours to downloa minecraft!
this is the iphone 4s right?
I'm new to the iPhone, I've got an HTC One X atm. I've had it since April. I've got a new job and I'm thinking of changing my phone to either this or the Samsung Galaxy S3. What do you recommend?
Finally someone is appreciating Apple's amazing and hard work. I mean, it's a really freggin' awesome phone and personally I love it!
Think i'll wait for the iPhone 6. I purchased my iPhone 4 when it first came out and have never had a problem with it. As long as you keep the software up to date, it shouldn't give any problems. Even the battery on mine still lasts on average 3 days, depending how I use it.
get the iphone 13
that is a topee or you have dyed your hair ,,which is it?
I have an ihome. Not compatible with my iPhone 4. So I don't see the problem for the charger.
@SIXstringzTGODWAIT, what exactly do you mean by "verizoncan't do simultaneous voice and data? Just a bit confused by what that means haha
How is android "tough" to use?
What does he mean by data and calls only with AT&T?
iPhone 5 = Boss

how does the A5X and A6 chip compare?
Well, what do you expect? CNET makes great reviews. Much better than others
no I have mine working smooth, never had issues. Actually it is blazing faster than my previous 4 version
Yeah, as long as you have 3G in your area.
It works in the the same way you can use EDGE if 3G isn't available in your area on the 4S.
it really doesnt matter what specs the s3 has, apples products just have 0 lag and never crash, something which is very fond in android devices
howd he get a delta ticket???? they havent updated the app
People can say all they want about the Iphone but the fact is it will always and continue to be the number one phone in this nation
What's the boot time like on the iPhone 5? is it any faster?
they tell you that, but it gets there faster. Ordered mine last Wednesday, and its supposed to arrive this Wednesday :)
the question is how do we jailbreak it?
What kind of bowl did you use to cut your hair?
I WISH they maxed the screen out on the sides, with no border.. like some of the concept pictures.
they're saving that for the 6 (already in the works. fact)
dont kill me but ive s dumb question... say i cant get 4G were i live can i still use 3G with the phone?
Not available in my country? :'(
Yep 3 days. I charge it up Sunday night and by Wednesday night it needs to be charged again. Sometimes I can even get it to last until Thursday night.
I just ordered mine from at&t. It is suppose to be at my door step in 2-3 weeks. I can't wait. I had the LG Quantum by Windows.

Hi Shoud i buy galaxy s4 or iphone 5 . i got now s3 .. reply me please
it says published on september 8, 2012...
Is AT&T good on Long Island pans service
Can anyone tell me how much this is in the UK?
Dear CNETTV show us black version iPhone5
I gotta say, when he's opening apps it looks like instant-on. Impressive with the new processor.

They looked at it in terms of ease of use.. it's out of the way at the bottom and your headphones won't short out as fast as long as you take care of them and the phone.
hey do all the apple apps like garageband, imovie come in the iphone out of the box
It is not a comparison of what they can or cannot do. It is about the building quality and the feel.
adblocker?
