    Hi Tiffany! Thank you so much for another super helpful video! This is perfect timing as I'm currently making my own UXR portfolio:) If you don't mind, could you make a video about how to prepare for the UXR interview process and your tips? It'd be super helpful!

As someone who has been seriously considering pivoting into tech and specifically UX research, these videos help a ton to give me an idea of what that world is like and what my life would be like going into it. Thanks so much for making these! The other comments here had great ideas for follow ups to this, Im going to browse your channel in case you made those already now that I'm catching up. Thanks again!

      I transitioned from another field so I didn’t do an internship, but I have a video that gives tips on how I landed my first job: ruclips.net/video/VWfok-gFOos/видео.html

    Your content has really helped me over the past few months. I was wondering something and I was hoping you could help me out.
    So I recently graduating with my BS in psychology and will start my MS in data science this fall. I did a research project during my undergrad ( it was only me working on it but I did have a professor assist me through the process) the project was finding the Relationship between Intramural, Club, and University Student-Athletes’ Belongingness and Sport Motivation during COVID-19.
    I was wondering if I can use that project on my UX portfolio or even my project presentation since that is my only official research project I have done so far. Although the project wasnt testing a product in any way but I still had to create an interview schedule for the participants and analyze/interpret the data.
    Thank you!

      Hello! So glad my videos have been helpful🥺💪
      You can definitely include a non-UX specific research in your portfolio! Motivations + perception are definitely big parts of foundational research we run, so I don’t think you’re off topic at all :)
      A UX Research project can definitely be just an exploration of a field, market, or user needs. You can notate that the research wasn’t UXR specific, but it would be valuable just to showcase how you used a certain methods to answer research goals as it relates to understanding the people (student athletes, in your case) and their motivation with sports.
      Hope that helps!

    Thanks for always making such great videos!
    I'm a Ph.D. candidate with several published studies and am looking to get into UXR. Do you have any advice on how academics can translate their research into case studies for their UXR portfolio?

    • @Tifffster
      @Tifffster  2 года назад +3

      Hi Anthony! You’re so welcome, glad it was helpful!😄
      I personally don’t have a ton of advice catered to those pivoting from academic background but I know a couple people who have successfully transitioned into UXR, so I’ll ask for some tips!👍
      In general, though, I love seeing academic research being used in portfolio. All those are really great experiences + strengths you folks have, and you should showcase it with pride! I would advise to include not only the straight path of a research but also realistic obstacles that you may have come across (e.g. a method not working in the midst of a research so a plan pivoting, the type of info you didn’t have but you would have loved to get, etc.) Case studies are used to see a researcher’s thought process and critical thinking, so it helps to show the type of obstacles you came across and in which way you overcame it.

    Hello Tifffster, I am Yal, can I use medium to make my portfolio researcher ?

    • @Tifffster
      @Tifffster  2 года назад

      Hi Yal!☺️ I personally think you can use ANY platform to make your portfolio, so YES! I love that idea.
      You should be empowered to be creative with how you create your portfolio and where. I myself used a personal website but I’ve seen people just put together a few powerpoint decks, word documents, etc. too!
