    If you have an Irish accent here in Boston, you’re basically invincible. It was the same with the Aussie accent. It’s still a big turn on here, but back in the Crocodile Dundee/Men at Work days you were invincible lol

    • @kate122579
      @kate122579 Год назад +25

      Can confirm. Boston is so heavy with the obsession over our own Irish ancestry that when we women encounter a real live Irishman we absolutely lose it. It's like the pinnacle of clout. Which is completely absurd because we KNEW our grandfathers and they were absolute nonsense and we watched our grandmothers purse their lips and quietly run the show with masterfully dispensed guilt and an undercut that our grandfathers were completely oblivious to. The Irish-American family dynamic here is so unhealthy... so we women want nothing more than to continue the tradition - we'd never make it with normal people. Coming across source material is jackpot.

Within seconds the two 20 something girls next to us were flirting with him without him saying so much as "What are the drink specials for tonight?".. to the bartender.

    ……Me, in my early 20s with my dark, wavy dark auburn hair and endless tweed skirts and sweaters at the best bar in my area then (Johnny’s) my murican green eyes sparkling, cheeks flushing as I collect phone numbers of lads visiting the area from Donegal, Belfast, or Glasgow, swooning at the adoration of the effing hot ebony and ginger haired lads with curly locks and blue eyes who are mightily impressed with an murican girl who can drink them under the table in Guinness Stout. Sigh. I was so impressed with myself! Now, I’m pushing 50, but found me a curly haired ginger, blue eyed soul 18 years ago….but we met sober, and we’re diligently working on ourselves. She’s definitely not a boy, (lol!) 5:32 and she is definitely murican made, with her own sets of UK descendants, but it doesn’t mean I still don’t swoon, and love how good she looks in her clan’s kilt, lol! (It’s only when she attempts to recreate a legitimate Highland accent, I tape her mouth up. Don’t ruin a good thing, Lass!) ❤

    Ah, yes, the accent. I'm mostly Irish in the US. The accent is to die for. But the thing is we know you are going home to Mammie, and we don't have to take care of you. Bless that Irish passport.

    Hey, it's not just the accent, it's the comfortable familiarity of the depression-adhd teamup. Source: I'm a Fate/Stay Night fan with an unhealthy attachment to Cu Chulainn, who has never been given his actual accent in an official dub even once.
    Edit: I should probably have mentioned I am French-Irish-Canadian, hence the 'comfortable familiarity'. Also hence the fact that I have actually told non-Irish men to fuck off for saying hello. XD

    You could do the same routine in Scotland, as The Big Yin is won't to say, "We're very similar"
    Worked all over, it was always easier to get a second date, never mind a first, anywhere outside Scotland!
    I couldn't of bought a Snake-bite for the middens mate! and be blown out! But West Berlin?, I was in a relationship with a six-two blue eyed blonde, (I'm five-ten), should've been a super model!
    I stopped going home from further afield. Stayed in Europe for My leave. Go home?, and not get the ugly sisters ugly sister? Or go to any major European City and keep checking in mirrors to see if I'd had cosmetic surgery without knowing about it.

    Can’t argue with ya Jarlath, a Dublin accent is totally the sexist accent in the world, French second, Italian third.

      No, No genital mutilation. That a bonus. Circumcised men are less sensittive, so often worse lovers in my experience.
