I'm really glad he released this song. I've spoken about the difference between the two since I moved to the city. Being a small town girl all my life, lived in the city for the past four years. I have been ready to go home since week two. Pizza delivery ain't worth the crime rates. People are hateful, cruel, and don't care about each other in the city. I think it's really just about supporting and caring for your neighbors and wanting to keep the community a safe place, which is more apparent in small towns where everybody knows everybody and thus knows how each and everyone is doing.

When our town was threatened with possible riots, we had a meeting & closed every street into town down. Clearly biased already. The filming location is the Murray County Courthouse in Columbia TN, the location of a brutal lynching in the 1920s. Columbia was also the location of a large race riot in the 40s that almost resulted in the lynching of a future Supreme Court Justice TN was infamously known for the Good Ol Boys Roundups in the 1990s where fake lynchings were often acted out. Aldean references the Good Ol Boys a few times in the song All of the depictions of small town families at the end of the video are white people This song and video are a dog whistle to white supremacists Aldean may not know that, but whoever produced and directed the video does

the song itself is not racist, but the video is but you do not understand why and that is the real issue. That court house they filmed in front of is where many racist events took place, from the crowd lynching of a 18 yr old black male for talking to a white woman, and race riot in the 40's where a couple dozen people where murdered to the white group the formed up there and then went and looted a black community. From what I have seen on numerous reaction videos on YT, Black people are saying there is nothing wrong with the song/video and that they are all for it. Whereas there was a reaction video of a white guy who was calling Jason Aldean racist, while that same white guy was threatening to go to cities and towns and commit the very crimes Jason was singing against. Talk about irony. Jason wasn't being racist. I'm really glad he released this song. I've spoken about the difference between the two since I moved to the city. Being a small town girl all my life, lived in the city for the past four years. I have been ready to go home since week two. Pizza delivery ain't worth the crime rates. People are hateful, cruel, and don't care about each other in the city. You so much as sigh 'hi' just to be nice and greet someone with a smile and they yell at you about not knowing you. Of course I don't know you! Still a human being! I don't have to know you to show respect and demand it in return.

I think it's really just about supporting and caring for your neighbors and wanting to keep the community a safe place, which is more apparent in small towns where everybody knows everybody and thus knows how each and everyone is doing.

When our town was threatened with possible riots, we had a meeting & closed every street into town down. The filming location is the Murray County Courthouse in Columbia TN, the location of a brutal lynching in the 1920s.
Columbia was also the location of a large race riot in the 40s that almost resulted in the lynching of a future Supreme Court Justice
TN was infamously known for the Good Ol Boys Roundups in the 1990s where fake lynchings were often acted out.
Aldean references the Good Ol Boys a few times in the song

With that said I would like to say whether you come from a small town or a large city good people always stick together. Also, everyone’s getting their panties in a twist, because in 1927 a black man was hung out of the second story window of that courthouse where he shot the video. Now, Jason might not have known about that when he shot the video. Also, Miley Cyrus shot some of her movie, Hannah Montana, the movie at that same courthouse, but that was OK to do?
He also lives in Columbia @ 15-20 minutes from courthouse.
@@henryfitzgerald5926 that’s correct he does, that’s probably the main reason he chose that courthouse he wouldn’t have as far of a commute, or having to pay for a hotel room or whatever.a
That is also the court house in his home town.....his "small town."
I think you're missing something here. 🤔 He lives near this place and is well aware of it's past. Is he inferring that in this small town, part of the townsfolk sticking together may go as far as lynching? Is he signaling something here for the large number of KKK, white supremacist that live in these small towns? They absolutely do use dog whistles , hand signals, to convey their hateful messages to each other, just like gang members. Seems like a subtle dog whistle from and to the klan to me. But I'm not sure, but, I think this song is sending mixed messages, which just causes more confusion about interpretation and division? 🤨
