You have done a great job.
If at 20/50, you could have gotten out of it.

Thanks for sharing that! Very useful for me as a newer starter on Endmyopia

    Hi
    I deeply appreciate your efforts.
If you did this at 20/50, you would be at 20/30 today.
Optometry is a total failure for both of us!

Thanks Reannon for your description on habits.
The morning and evening routine watching outside the window makes sense and is something I will copy and implement. Yeah on the 20 - 20 rule I have to be careful, I get too easily sought into the pile of tasks I have/want to complete at desk, but I must be more disciplined with that. And also on the point of looking and engaging more conscious with my vision I get the point, sometimes I notice and take time to sense all stimulus I perceive, but most often not. Thanks again

    Hi Reannon,
After exhaustive research, I must blame some of my "early myopia", on my bad, personal "visual habits".
But at 20/50, I truly blame the excessive minus lens, I was prescribed.
The OD could have been "better than that".
Jake's methods are good. But they can be most effective, in going from 20/50, to 20/20.
To be confirmed on you own Snellen.

For me my vice was reading, and later doing so with my minus lenses because I didn't know any better... I look forward to going from 20/50 to 20/20, but I need to get to 20/50 first. And don't fret when I do get there my many Snellen charts will confirm it 😁

Your habits sound great for the average person! I'm not so average. My day begins before midnight and ends in the afternoon, so I don't have the luxury of daylight when I awake. But I still make good progress in reversing myopia because I spend 14 hours driving truck in Montana most days. With at least 4 hours of driving in bright sunlight on the open road, it is ideal for distance vision. I just barely qualified for no eye correction restriction on my drivers license before my myopia became much worse. Then I started reversing it with info from endmyopia. Now I'm on track to never be required to use correction to drive.

And that is the whole of it, learn all you can then taylor it to your own eyes and life style :)

High myopes should probably do the morning bit with their near work glasses. And I guess I could have elaborated a bit that in the morning sometimes I pull focus but mostly I just do gentle push being conscious of my whole field of vision.

I'm finding my best vision at noon, after I've been up for a while. And the light during sunset can be like wearing extra strength lenses!

That is great! We can say most people, and typically, in order to give a basis but everyone has to learn about their own eyes and vision which is why no one in EM gives diopter specific advice. There are just too many variables and only you have access to yours. For my part I know many people find pushing focus the easiest, but most of the time my eyes respond more to a good pull, almost like just a little blur isn't worth the effort. Which is a big reason I spend more time in my diffs than is typically if I'm going to be too preoccupied to clear blur I switch to avoid blur adaptation.

I started Endmyopia from 3rd July 2022 and recently I suffered from viral fever for 5 days during this time I wasn’t able to practice active focus and neither I observed any distant objects and now I feel my vision deteriorated . I am quite worried. Is it temporary will it be again cured through active focus?

This is normal. Once your body has fully recovered and you get back into the swing of things with your vision you should quickly get back to where you were.
