  • In this video, I finally get my long solo cross-country flight done. The next item to check off the list is IFR hood time (which will be too boring to film) and checkride prep! For the first leg of this trip I will be flying from my home base of Scottsdale Airport (KSDL) to Pinal Airpark (KMZJ). The next 2 legs of the trip (KMZJ - E60, and E60 - KSDL) will be uploaded in the next month or so. The whole trip went very well and I cannot wait to share all of it with everyone. I am very exited to get done with my training and finally become a licensed pilot after training for nearly 3 years. The airplane is a 1979 Cessna 172N Skyhawk (N6513D) rented from Scottsdale Executive Flight Training. I hope you enjoy this video. You may leave a like and subscribe to see more videos as they are posted. These videos are purely for entertainment. I just have to remember that, "A good pilot is always learning." - Jason Schappert.

Another bit of constructive criticism. Need to check Notams for any information regarding your flight including airport at destination per FAR 91.3 you could have had a closed rwy and have not noticed if you did not check the notams. You would have known about the AWOS being out of service. Even before you left SDL

Jeff Daugherty Thank you for your input and sorry for the late reply. I definitely should've done that and I definitely could've studied the route and AF/D for Eloy and Pinal. I don't think having my charts of the passenger seat is really a problem. I didn't experience any real difficulties. Having them on the seat allows me to have the chart unfolded to cover a larger area rather than having it on the left leg folded up more and at the same time being in the way.

Not a good idea to put your charts on pax seat and look at it. It can sometimes mess with your equilibrium when you pull your head back up
