Im dreading the day honestly lol. It will probably be the first time I drop serious cash in one go on a new army. I have patiently resisted getting a GK army because I know that refresh is coming. I only have Crowe because he is proper scale and expect the refresh to be similar to how great that model looks.
Hey Valrak, the Warhammer World cabinets often switch stuff in and out as the photography team need to use the mini’s for pictures. Considering how far in advance codexes are made, if this was for a Grey Knights release, it’s probably not coming out for another 18 months or more.
That’s what I mean, it’s for the new codex
18 months possibly a stretch, GW have now released 12 of the 26 (25 if Deathwatch go) in 12 months....got to assume this is the planned pace for 10th but yeah defo for codex but might be up to a year ahead.

Would not surprise me in the least if the upcoming release calendar will be;
- Agents of the Imperium
- Blood Angels launch box
- Codex Grey Knights & Codex Deathwatch
- Blood Angels full release
Odds are there will be some kind of funky ally rules around adding the Chamber Militants into an Agents army, (and vice-versa), and dropping the other two chamber militants would mean that all 3 main Ordos will be "complete" within a few months of the Agents codex releasing.
They've done this before with other armies when they've taken them in for photography for their next codex etc...

Honestly, I belive that the Grey Knight need a huge refresh, their models looks a bit outdated compared to other Space Marines factions
My entire grey knight army was upgraded with 3D printed primaris scale legs.

I was actually excited by the idea that in the lore the Grey Knights had vanished. Were they taking the battle to the Chaos Gods directly? But nope, just photography. We'll see the photos in some publication in 1-2 years.

models rotate in and out of the display cases for phtography for codexs or white dwarf, or battlereports in WD or warhammer+
a proper version of the dreadknight for a grandmaster would be handy (be it a proper kit or upgrade sprue) as it can be hard to tell apart grandmaster and normal dreadknights

Well. In theory.. often not the case but does add a bit of purswasion to implementing what is talked about.
Usually inspiration causes something to suddenly be updated like the grey knights seem to be having done to them.
While in theory tgis would be because they received a chaos counterpart.
Im thinking along the lines of these chaos grey knights being known as nightmares.
While grey knights are very distinguished with how they can be spoken about.
The nightmares should be confusing and difficult to clearly communicate about in casual conversation.
To the point where nightmares to denzes of the imperium is merely torment.
While the word knight-mare would cause reactions in the warp and have a slight chance of summoning one of the 13 knight-mares.
Just to keep it corresponding with a certain dark crusader.
They having a photoshoot with them I bet.
Funny enough I was there with my 2 boys yesterday and can corroborate this. Grey knights weren't in the exhibition there were a few empty cabinets in there tbh 👀

If theyre just now doing promotional images for Grey Knights, I dont expect their codex for a while. Definitely after Blood Angels, maybe an end of the year codex release like the necrons and Ad Mech had. Might possibly be even further back until next year after the Space Wolves have their refreshes. GW doesnt work that immediate on anything, so sounds like they are just now getting images and video ready for later events
My bet is pictures being taken for their battleforce and 10th-ified combat patrol. That could fit not taking the tanks/planes. The babycarrier 2.0 as first option to get in a battleforce box, similar to nearly every new model so far?

Quite simple, most models bought are terminators. They need the scale up to match the new range.

My guess would be they are being folded in to the agents of the imperium codex, ala harlequins and eldar last edition (this edition ? who knows time is wild). After all they do work closely with the inquisition and would mean printing one less codex, potentiaally two if Deathwatch get folded inn to it as well.
It could be that they are being used for photography of a different army codex - maybe for the Daemon Codex 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Could just be they were filming a Battle report with Grey Knights being used as allies with a Agents army . Maybe the Agents codex has some detachments that works like the 'stealer cult Brood Brothers detachment. One of each of the 3 main Ordos.
Ive got CSM, daemons, renegades, and chaos knights... but id consider picking up some loyalists if GW nails upscaled Grey Knights

Personaly I think the grey Knights and the Deathwatch and all the Assain's should be merged back into a single force, and allow the inqusition to be a propper army again.
I think you can’t not have Deathwatxh and/or Grey Knights in an agents of the imperium codex. Otherwise it’s like what 6-10 characters and like 2 troops?

I think they will be taking them down to Photograph for the AOI codex, if there was no models they wouldn't need to move anything

Hmm I'm still suspicious that they are going to be in Agents of the Imperium. The timing for GK to be missing now seems to support that given they will be making the photography for that release at the moment and almost certainly not a GK codex. As it stands if they just bundle the existing odds and ends of "Imperial" units into a codex that is not really a cohesive book so there must be more to it. If I was them I'd do the Inquisition units as the core of an army then allow people to supplement other units on depending on the type of detatchment. Malleus, Xenos, Hereticus & Minoris Detachments then a stand alone DW & GK Detachment like the Kroot. Perhaps the Corvus Blackstar goes from a DW only flyer to a generic Inquisition flyer which is why they didn't bother with the Stormhawk or Stormraven.
