oh im early lol, just to let u know they do have gears, normally 1 down 4 up with the left foot, right foot is the rear brake, left lever is the clutch and the right lever is front brake, much love, u guys deserve more subs lol
Most bikes are 6 speed not 5

I raced Motocross in my teens it beats the hell out of you. The bikes have so much power and every jump and mogul rattles your bones. I also raced Hill Climb you should check some of those video's out. Thanks, love your channel.

Maybe the gnarliest crash ever happened just 2 days ago to Cameron McAdoo. It looked like something out of a video game. The Red Flagged the race which prompted a restart and he being the savage that he is lined back up on the gate and ended up finishing 3rd after a crash that could've easily ended his career.
Yes you’re right he is a savage, not in a badass type of way but he was a fucking hazard to everyone around him. Unlucky Chris Blose ended up beside him
We in America deal with Supercross which is indoors and motorcross is outdoors, they both insane and these are some of the toughest dudes in the world, they go balls out on some crazy terrain, hope you start watching

They actually use different textures of dirt as well, some tracks have sand sections as well

One of the most physical demanding sports besides Soccer, wrestling that bike around the track for 50 laps, get tired ,gets harder to hang on as race goes on

Yep they got gears , they also will change down a couple of cogs while they're in the air and also stab the rear brake if the front wheel comes up too high over a jump that way it brings the front wheel back down . I've played footie and rugby and also done this sport and it's a probably the most physically and mentally demanding sport on the planet .
Me & a group of guys used to race motorcross until highschool when my boy broke his collarbone & another one broke his wrist. Just riding beats the shit out of you, crashing is very much unpleasant. Not to mention the fear of getting ran over after the crash. Good times though, I’ve gotta fix up my old bike & take it easy on the property, it’s absolutely fun as fuck until you crash

You have to realise that behind each crash they might be a lot of pain and struggle. I race motocross since 8 year old, got a big crash at 12, missed a rut on the face of a 60 ish km/h jump 10 m long, lost my bike mid air landed weirdly on the legs my head crashing in the ground. My knee brake and my foot went on the left side of my body.6 month with brace 6 month of reeducation, Be able to do sport again 2 years later. I got permanent damage in my knee know.
Worst part was the reeducation never felt so much pain in my entire life.

yes they are changing gears, with a clutch, 6speed? atleast 5speeds. Clutch is on the handlebar on the left, gear lever on the foot left side.
When they slow it down the wrecks don’t look so bad. So if someone gets hurt just play it back in slo-no and magically there not hurt anymore.
yeah the change gears manualy. handlebar has 2 levers. Left is the clutch right is the frontbrake. Then shifter is at the left footpeg backbrake right footpeg. Most 450cc 4strokes have 4 gears now. Some still have 5. Bikes got somuch power they are able to start from the gate in 3rd gear. and still wheelie you off the bike with to much throttle.
I did motocross for 14 years. last bike i had was a KTM 450cc 4stroke. The power in these bikes is absolutly crazy.

Dudes you all need to react to Travis Pastrana. He was a motocross champ but then got into freestyle, and then rally, and monster truck, and skydiving, and pretty much anything that has a decent chance of killing him... that the dude's still alive.
Have you seen unchained, on Netflix, it's about freestyle mx, I highly recommend it

Motocross racing is actually less dangerous than most motor sports. The speeds are lower, there are no walls to crash into, and the bikes don't carry much fuel so there's less danger of fire. Dirt is softer than concrete and asphalt. If you want to see a truly dangerous motorcycle race, check out the Isle of Man TT.
That being said, motocross is very physically demanding. The riders have to be really strong and aerobically fit.
The bikes definitely do have gears. They downshift when going around sharp turns and upshift on straight sections. Speedway bikes don't need them because their speeds don't vary much during the race, and because they spend almost all their time power sliding.
I'd be interested to see you react to the Scottish Six Days Trial. Here's a good video featuring Dougie Lampkin, one of the all-time greats of the sport. He's so good he makes things look easy that stymie other riders:

You might want to check out either Mountain of Hell or Megavalanche highlights. It's downhill mountain bike races from Europe. Except it's actual mountains they're riding down, not hills.
I just did a quick search, and 'Megavalanche What it looks like for the averagage Joe' is a good video. 14 minutes long. Lots of crashes and also lots of shots that show how crazy steep and difficult some parts of it are. NSFW due to language, but you guys don't seem to be bothered by that. Cheers.
Supercross is a subdivision of Motocross, MXGP or American Outdoor Nationals is often considered just as Motocross because it's the grass routes of the sport. Supercross is more rhythmic. Huge jumps in a closed multipurpose stadium, versus huge jumps that are often wider, softer and have more mechanically challenging objects to deal with.
Edit: They run 5 speed manual transmissions, 1 down 4 up not including neutral. Race speeds are average about 48-64 kph on supercross and around 72-80 kph in MXGP or Outdoor Nationals, for 450's. Not quite sure about the 250 class though
Also there is a whole racing series in Europe, a couple riders have made their way to America to race like ken roczen(German) and Marvin musquin(frenchie)
Since you guys don’t really know much about supercross racing You should react to a full race and break down your first impressions of the sport

They actually use sports stadiums when they do arena events called supercross and they remove the fields and bring in the dirt to create the track and then once that race is over everything is put back into place

Yes they do shift gears. Usually a 1 down 4 or 5 up pattern. They do make an automatic shift called recluse I believe but don't quote me. Like the show guys ever have any questions about American sports I'll try to help if you like. Thanks
Reckluse is not a full automatic shift, its some sort of aid for clutching
