Ston was quite the small hidden gem. Did you know Europe had such a long wall?

Neum is actually Dalmatian coastal city, which was given to newly formed Socialist Republic called SR Bosnia&Herzegovina in 1945 by Communists, when they splitted Croatia in two socialist republics, thats why Croatia is in kinda weird shape.
Herzegovina carries a name after Croatian Herzogs, which is a title for Croatian noblemans.
We Bosnians don't have seaside, only Dalmatians and Istrians have seaside...but we have alot of nature and other intetesting things....like Jajce which is only city in the world with waterfall in it,builded by Ban of Bosnia Hrvoje Hrvatinić,or Livno where you can see wild horses and beatifull nature,or Kupres a well known winter ski destination in Bosnia for Dalmatians 😀,even Dalmatians know how to winter ski😄😄😄😄😄😄😄...etc...
    God bless!

Ston is the first town in Europe to be built in an urban way.

The street grid was actually quite easy to spot once you got up on the walls and towers. Fascinating!

Actually I need to correct you, Croatia is not actually in the Balkans, only 10% of it's southern territory is.

The geographical definitions vary greatly, depending on the source, but according to the GPE Index, they define the Balkan region like this: "-Balkan Countries- region includes Croatia and the countries of the Western Balkans: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia. All of these economies are also part of the United Nations Southern Europe Region."
It is all a matter of definition. The Wikitravel defines the Balkan Peninsula like this: wikitravel.org/en/Balkans
But we loved Croatia, such a beautiful country
