  • In this video, Simon Williams from Anaphylaxis UK and Dr. Rebecca Knibb discuss a research project on behalf of the Food Standards Agency* about people's food reactions.
The project aims to find out where people have reactions, what food they have reactions to, or near misses, and why they might react. This information will help guide policies around food labelling and education for food businesses.
The study is interested in people who have had an allergic reaction, food intolerance, or coeliac disease in the last five years. The survey includes reactions or near misses that occur when purchasing food products or eating out. To participate, you can find a link in this video description, which leads to an online survey that takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. The survey includes questions about the latest reaction or near miss, the type of food and packaging, and where it was purchased or consumed.
At the end of the survey, general demographic questions are asked to understand the people taking part. The survey has a "prefer not to say" option for sensitive questions.
    Closes Friday 17th March.

    * In the video, Dr Rebecca Knibb said that the Food Standards Agency is responsible for food labelling. Just to note this is only the case in Wales and Northern Ireland; and in England The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) is responsible for the policy on food labelling.
