For context this was from Day 2 of the whistler trip which I wasn't originally going to make into a video as we basically did 50 laps of A-line. That being said, I thought this clip deserved its own video. I was filming with Ian the day after we recorded this for a GT video (ruclips.net/video/Fafl-eh3S8A/видео.html) and he ended up injuring his ankle.
This is one of my favourite videos of yours I've seen. The lines are just so sick and smooth from both of you, I feel like i'm in a time machine 25 years ago!!!! Awesome riding! Unusual to see such flowy riding and in first person - THanks!!!
This was super nice! Really lowkey and stitched together to make everyone feel somewhat like the fly on your shoulder observing everything in the moment. 👍👍
I had the opportunity to go heliskiing with Ian and his father in Northern BC many years ago. Great kid! and his dad is one HELL of an action sports photographer! I got the most beautiful action shot of my ski career that week.
Phil my man they unsubscribed me and stopped reccomending you. I need my daily dose of Phil's infectious positivity and deadly riding skills. Happy to be back.
Phil, I think you might not have noticed how far your editing skills have come. Also, familiarity with a mountain is a big deal. I snowboard HARD and my favorite mountain is Brighton. Doing very high speed runs is possible if you know it, else, there are some areas that will buck you and make you slide 100 feet on your chest or butt…or into a tree. First Thing I thought when you were behind the local. Excellent video. Gg, brother.
Hey @Skills With Phil. 1st, I love your channel 👌🏼. Keep it up So i noticed this year you’re riding an Assegai front/DHF rear , not your previous DHR2/DHR2 setup. Any reason for the switch?? I’m going to Whistler for the first time ever on June17/18. I’m currently on DHF/DHF EXO+, hoping this setup serves me decently well.
I don’t know if you’ve checked out mammoth mountain bike park but there’s some super technical stuff here as well definitely not like whistler but definitely different I’d be hyped to see ya man you rip I’m finally getting back on a bike after about 6 years so to see your vids definitely hypes me up for this summer
Wow, the height boost on the 14:04 jump was massive! You probably jumped right out of frame for the dude sitting there taking photos, lol. Just a couple tires floating in the trees above the table...
Funny thing how GoPros make the jumps look small. I met a Whistler local at Santos, Ocala, FL..he said “man, the jumps in A-line are big…they are steep and scary”.
That's not the gopro that's a RUclips problem. For some reason even though RUclips was showing that the video was fully processed on my end, it's not showing all the higher quality options on your end.
what trail has that big hip, i thought it was part of A line but maybe dirt merchant or crab apple. or is it a part of A line and just that section is closed. just curious i have never been but seen so many vids.
for some reason i keep trying to watch this and its so blurry like quarter of 1080p worth of pixels. i went back to other vids so its just this one with me anyway. the non moving content is clear and clean.
For some reason even though RUclips was showing that this video was fully processed (4k and everything) on my end, it's not showing all the higher quality options on the viewers end. It happens pretty rarely but it is super annoying when it happens though it usually fixes itself within a day.
I feel like every youtube video telling me how to turn is a waste of time when you should basically be told: hit some turns, sit down, put your foot out and keep going faster until you slide out.
Never seen anyone sitting and taking his foot out in the berm like Ian. I ride flats and have like "hockey" stance all way down and never touching seat. Me weird or is this normal?
RUclips says the 4k was processed (so i published the video). But its not showing on my end. Must be a RUclips bug. I will always upload videos in 4k. It's safe to say that if its not available it's a fluke on RUclips's side of things.
@@groningenparanormaal3642 Hmm... it looks like even though the video says it finished processing the 4k version of this video, I'm not seeing the 4k quality setting option. Otherwise the camera and video export settings are exactly the same.
Is wearing gloves not cool anymore haha? I feel like my hands would be worse not wearing them but so many downhill rippers don't wear gloves in your vids.

Keep pumping us with the bike park content Phil! We like it a lot.
Yeah daddy Phil keep pumping 😩😩

Speak for yourself! (He's right)
Ian Morrison honestly is living a great life that I wanna live. He skis in winter and bikes all summer.
Maybe an eye on his chest.🙂
@ 6:00 - Pro Tip, Rain-X your lens cover on your GoPro before a sloppy ride or using it in water. Works AMAZINGLY well!

Tried downhill first time last summer. Survived it, loved it. Watching these videos helped me alot with beeing comfy with the bike on the trail
Glad you made it a video man, some good enjoyable content as always!
GREATEST DOWNHILL VIDEO EVER BY YOU PHIL VERY VERY EXCITING

Unbelievable lines, didn't have them when I was rolling. Well no where near that long.
Love your videos phil! Much love from the Philippines!

simple, but smart :)
Sick

Hey Phil, where do you mount your GoPro? I love the angle you get and I would love some advice!

Very Good ride super bike pzrk 💪
your new GoPro 10 may shed water good, but the vid looks grany at times. love the vid, would like clear'er vids

0:56 the dudes back wheel was JANK as hell😂
I think that could just be the fisheye Distortion on the GoPro, it can make things look hella weird.
No better riders than Whistler locals ... Windrock locals are sick too, but Whistler they're just on a different tier.
Its just crazy how fast you are going and how good your bike controll is
Sweet video Phil! So what pedals ARE those??
Chromag daggas!

That's on dirt merchant which wasn't open yet when i was there.
12:44---12:49 👍

What was that on the track @ 12:14?
13:02 dolphin noise
9:39 I thought that was a person wearing a mask, took me a moment to realize it was a helmet

Can u plz do a video on the north shore?
Idk if it's your new GoPro or you're rendering software, but fast movement on HD looks terrible compare to earlier footage. Nice vlog though.
I need context, compared to which video?
@@SkillsWithPhil the one from May 31, 2022 had better quality while riding your bike on hd.
