36:42 - 37:00 --- That... was mighty hilarious. XDD And yes, please. Do continue this series. As for the main character being down on his luck, I'll just chalk all that up as the devs' way of punishing him for going against his uncle's wishes in the first place.
My favourite line by Chris this time: "I don't know who has been lighting all these candles, but thank you very much, you are doing a wonderful job. " 🤣😂🤣😂
I really appreciate the way you read the dialogue and text in these games. You read with such character and intrigue. I absolutely enjoy it. Quite a natural storyteller. Such a pleasure, as always.
The look of this game is beautiful and I love when you play Lovecraftian games, they really draw me in! Thank you, Chris, always a great time when you upload! Can't wait for more!
This is great! Things just keep happening non-stop, and it it's always something interesting! This video was an hour long and it felt like ten minutes! Can't wait for the next chapters. Let's wish the protagonist better luck!
I don't know how to tell you this, Mr Protag, but your uncle went to another planet, learned of his horrifying cosmic lineage, and threw himself into the spaceface of Big Daddy Cthulhu. Alternate title: Great Old One, Where's My Car?
It's gotta be good if there's already a blood sacrifice at the beginning. I have high hopes for continuing watching this now. CJU you are the man for these bro, keep it up.
Oooooo, Other half and I looked at each other when you said The Land of Pain, it's the first game of yours we ever watched. I had watched a non commentary version previously, and then wanted to show him the game and we came across your channel. Good memories. I hope it's as good as The Land of Pain. :)
i also absolutely loved land of pain. sometimes he mentions previous games in some videos and i dont always remember them. but when he said land of pain i immediately remembered. it stuck in my memory because it was sooo good.
@@DaggerPrince - I always like when he refers to other games. It's like when the game gets onto the topic about someone knees being strong after a fall or similar in a game, and us two or CJ himself say "Ernest sexy knees". Ernest is an older man from song of horror, with really strong knees, and in our opinion one of the best play throughs on the channel.
The Alien Cube or How to Get Severely Damaged Without Really Trying. 😅 I'm loving this: the beauty of CryEngine, the real threat, the mystery, the unfolding lore, and Chris' delight in playing. I'll be rewatching Land of Pain while I wait for the next episode. 👍
I've watched quite a few of your series by now. I think it might be too many. I knew exactly what face you were gonna make after pulling the level. I like this format of video though. The fact that you don't have your face on the entire video means we aren't distracted, but the highlights at the end are always hysterical.
This was really good actually I really enjoyed this. The voice acting the gameplay the animations the textures and modeling of the environments .. good job devs!!
So far, this game is really fun to watch! Likeable protagonist, interesting story, gorgeous graphics! My only gripe with it is that the hallucination bits are a bit too frequent and too jarring. It's one thing to have jumpscares - there's kind of a satisfaction to getting jumpscared. But these are just sudden, unpleasantly jarring moments that detract from the playthrough, imo, at least as a viewer. That said, the game is not bad at all - so far, it really is fun to watch, and I thank you for playing it!
No offensive CJU but those first two deaths, the one with the lever and the propane tanks, just made me laugh. I mean the first I was thinking "You know it'd be funny if this turned out to be a death trap." Then... well. The other the explosions were going off and you stayed to watch, hey a lot of people would've too as would I so I don't blame you, then the propane explodes. I was thinking, well at least it's realistic.
This seem really interesting, can't wait for a part 2. Now I am going to rewatch Chris playthrough of The Land of Pain to see if I can find any fun links between the games.
2:37 This is what I love about you CJU, your understated humor. I played Land Of Pain too, and I am so torn between watching you play this or playing it before I watch you play. I think I will watch a few first at least. I can't resist your personality and cultured voice. My day would be incomplete if I didn't end it with one of your videos. P.S. This protagonist seems to be getting damaged about as often as Ethan from Resident Evil Village.
I vividly remembered the demo after a few seconds in the video, and I liked it a lot! I'm stoked to finally see the full game, of course I'll be there for part 2 :) And I'm gonna go check your playthrough of The Land of pain right now!
Wow, that was pretty cool. I like that dangers are meaningful. You COULD actually die if you are in the wrong place. Its not just a death from an obvious trap or enemy. The storytelling and pacing is really good too, I think! I don't remember Land of Pain, so time to rewatch your recording of it. :D And yes, please, to more of this game!
I absolutely love everything about this so far. Such a beautiful game and full of action. I'm so addicted to your videos! I'll be looking forward to the next one.😊👍
I love anything Lovecraftian and CJU's videos so I have high hopes for this. Although, honestly, I have very... chaotic memories of Land of Pain so I'm REALLY interested to see how this dev has progressed since then. (Not a bad game necessarily, I just...in my head, my memories, it feels like a couple different games mashed together.)
His last will is similar to mine. "Destroy all my hard drives, don't even look at them" XD "so how do we break them" Just sneeze on it. Pretty much everything that guy touch blows up.
Just watched the demo again to see if anything changed, i love jow cju says mostly the same things, although not always, but its funny to see the same reactions a year later
Letters from deceased or missing family about inheriting a thing and it all going down hill is a common trope in Lovecraftian horror. Not an unwelcome one. Especially when done correctly.
Sorry I was late to the party. Oh yes loving this game. I started wearing headphones to watch your streams. Way more intense. More please 🎃🎃🎃👹👹☠☠🎃🎃👻👻👽👽
Binge watched ur Land of Pain vids. Looks like old uncle bequeathed his nephew the pain part. The bathroom scene was one for the archives. Seems you weren't using your left is right method back then and you made out alright (heh). Looks like the nephew is a clutz, maybe you're gonna need a death counter in this one. 😀
I can never resist a prequel, so I went back and watched the The Land of Pain playlist again before watching this. I definitely want to see you play this through. Not only do I want to see how this tale plays out (if this guy is Edgar's nephew, then he also is a descendant of the Bloodline), but I also want to know how many more ways there are for this game to kill you unexpectedly :-D . Personally, I think that's a bit of a joke homage to RE VII (witness your reference to Castle Dimitrescu); Ethan's hand trauma has nothing on getting electrocuted by a radio, hit on the head by a villain, tripping a trap that kills you, then breaking your leg (twice), then getting blown to smithereens, hit by shrapnel from the explosion when you got to a minimum non-lethal distance, and _then_ getting hit by lightning (or flying tree pieces).... in the first hour of the game. I love it that this game is *really* dangerous, and not just from the enemies (and yet, not mean-spirited). Honestly, it's nothing less than you deserve if you're not just going to leave the stupid cube for the guys that want it and go find Jenny and get ice cream or something :-) . Wouldn't ice cream be really, *_really_* nice about now? Thanks for playing and sharing, CJU!
Note to anybody who dies and leaves something to your kids, you don't want to see. Never say "Destroy everything and don't read it" because of course they are going to read it. A better idea would be to say that the item is tax forms or a bill that you need them to pay. That ensures whatever it is, goes directly into the trash....
I remember the demo! I want to see the full game, it looks really cool. This guy walked into the hall of the "unluckiest characters in horror games" hahahahahahahahahaha
I had to go back and look, you played the demo Dec 30, 2019, almost 2 years ago. Damn! Didn't think it was that long ago! I don't know, something about the the protagonist makes me feel like he's not particularly bright. And, I'm sorry, but I seriously laughed my ass off when you pulled that lever and dropped to your death. Part 2, absolutely! Please. I'm really curious as to this secret order and the cube. This promises to be an interesting game, although I think the protagonist is in for a world of hurt throughout the game.
This is one good-looking game. Like, RE8 good. Pretty amazing. No character models, of course, but incredible environments, maybe as good as "Amnesia: Rebirth."
36:42 - 37:00 --- That... was mighty hilarious. XDD And yes, please. Do continue this series.
As for the main character being down on his luck, I'll just chalk all that up as the devs' way of punishing him for going against his uncle's wishes in the first place.

Scoffing the random foodstuffs off the tables made me lol. Also what shall be known as "The Lever Indicident." : )
GG
The voice acting is unreal. Great job Chris!
chris : not going to pull any more levers: lol then he messes with the generator

Woo another relatively long playthrough! I already have my popcorn ready~☆

This reminded me so much of Amnesia. Especially the cave sequences, lighting and ambiance.

I am liking that death has returned to video games like this.
Best rendition of "Dude, where's my car?" with a horror twist. 👻😆
Man I can't wait for the rest of this series!
i love chriss reactions at the end of his videos
I'm enjoying this game. I remember you ate the mouldy food in the demo too 😂. Your reactions at the end of the video were hilarious.
This seem really interesting, can't wait for a part 2. Now I am going to rewatch Chris playthrough of The Land of Pain to see if I can find any fun links between the games.
The "In Pursuit of Loath Nolder" vibes, I live for it. Absolutely great.
Really enjoy your reading out loud. It brings more to the games playthrough. And you have a nice voice to listen to which is a bigger plus.
I love your reading skills when reading the text. Feels solid. Keep it up, bro

Nothing is better than a dose of Lovecraft from time to time, even when your protagonist is so easily damagable...
I remember you playing the demo for this! I'm super excited to see more! Thanks for sharing hope all is well ❤

YES YES, please keep this one coming🙏🏼
These stories are always interesting to see. Keep up the amazing work CJU!
Loved the video. Please continue.
Why is CJU always cursing himself lol
"A day can't get much worse", less than a minute later he is in a small room with walls closing in
keep going Chris, loving the game so far. Interested to see where it goes
Nothing like a midweek BANGER from CJU. Thanks CJU!
P.S. played through Poppy Playtime yesterday. Surprisingly good

I love how this game emphasizes the mere fragility of the protagonist. Cool story so far.

I love anything Lovecraftian and CJU's videos so I have high hopes for this. Although, honestly, I have very... chaotic memories of Land of Pain so I'm REALLY interested to see how this dev has progressed since then.

What a beautiful looking game.

The main character is probably wishing he never got that letter from his uncle. It's just been all down the drain from that point on.
Letters from deceased or missing family about inheriting a thing and it all going down hill is a common trope in Lovecraftian horror. Not an unwelcome one. Especially when done correctly.

This game sort of reminds me of another indie game called The Dreamcatcher, which I really wish you would play as well!
I am enjoying watching this. Not one I would want to play myself; it chops and changes and it's too dark at times.
just me, or when Chris got outside, does the scenery look like the dev modded Skyrim?
Hmm I'm sure I already saw you play this game. Hmm I'm puzzled, am I having deja Vu !
aaaaaaaaahhhhh my poor chest!! I spilled my tea all over it :'D idk why I just so badly for something so basic lmao
