watching the previous generation 7 years later. I love the simpler interior of cars from past. I hope Mazda put off infortainment screen from top of the dashboard. seriously, who needs back up camera in Miata?
Arthur Sperotto true .. this car is so overlooked .. and many people are bashing on it but never driven one ... you just fall in love with it once you drive it
Regarding DTC and DSC; you don't need to hold it down until the second light comes on. The second light is a "Failure Mode". Whatever that means... Anyways, you can quickly press it, illuminating the DSC light, and that will turn all the systems off.
+Thomas Bate (LemonTom) Could you link your source on this info? I have spun out several times with only DSC off. I have done standstill burnouts with only DSC off. No noticeable intervention in any scenarios.
+Thomas Bate (LemonTom) Bad source. Check this out. This is the Owners Manual for a 2014 Miata. www.mymazda.com/MusaWeb/pdf/manuals/2014_MX5_OM.pdf Go to page 5-29 "When DSC is on and you attempt to free the vehicle when it is stuck, or drive it out of freshly fallen snow, the TCS *(part of the DSC system)* will activate." "If the DSC OFF switch is pressed and held for a second or more, the TCS/DSC system may become *inoperative* due to the system detecting a switch problem"
+Thomas Bate (LemonTom) That might be the case with the NC1 Miata (which is referenced in the link you posted), because it has different ECU programming, but I know for a fact that is not the case with my car (NC2), and I can logically assume it is also not the case with the 2014 Miata (NC3) in this video. If you argue otherwise, you're essentially implying that Mazda implemented a secondary Driver Aid system that flat-out does not work, seeing as how I have maintained a loss of traction, lost control, etc. with only the "DSC OFF" light illuminated. Do you have anything to say to that, Mr. Expert? :-)
Once I saw the rain drops on the hood and that traction control was off. I knew some "shenanigans" were in place
I like the little drift in the beginning :D
What I liked most in this car,it was the sound of engine...is inviting...
1:07. Best part.
It simply must be said that the audio quality of these videos while listening on a pair of HD 650s is truly remarkable.

I like the drefting in your drive
I love this . Life size go cart
I'm mostly amazed at how little traffic you hit at 8 mile.
a mountain road would have been a lot more fun :)

I doubt they have many mountains in michigan :P
this looks FUN
What video and audio equipment are you using?
Winding Road Magazine Was that a clutch kick drift in 1st at the beginning?
Lmao I wish you would drive like this in all of your videos 😂
IKR?
That whole "avoid going to jail thing" is a bit of a problem with faster cars. :P
What is it about small, light, not very powerful cars that makes you want to drive like a bit of a yob? xd

+Jacob Hoss No it won't turn all systems off. It will turn off DSC. But will only turn off TSC slightly.

Yeah. You only feel the difference when trying to maintain traction loss for longer.

Can this car out handle a BRZ?
Most likely it's lighter and has better tires
+I am potato Its better than a BRZ. BRZ's are to dull. Good, but strangely boring. MX-5's on the other hand...
