As long as you're prepared to pay for the maintenance then go for it bro
if u want to buy an rx-8 consider buying a Miata NC instead. Much more reliable, still a fun car and the design isn't that much different. Also it is better to spend money on mods than maintenance tho... Your money your choice but the RX-8 is a really expensive car to maintain. It drinks oil and the milleage isn't fair for the performance.

Interior on this car is so modern it even has a tablet like todays cars *.*
acura's from this time period did as well and you can actually have ordered specific vehicles from GM w/full touch screen and nav going as far back as the early 80's
satnav screens were actually quite common on the "higher end" cars

@@POVMotors how much does it cost rebuilding the engine to a garage? I love the RX8 but engine is setting me off… I am really tempted to buy one, thing is many owners did not took proper care of the engine. I really need to have ideea just in case I go crazy and buy one
I'm in the UK and depending on what you want done basically 1.5k rebuild or can go 3 or 4k for rebuild and machine port for big power and will sound like the crazy rx7s you see on RUclips

Yes, especially looking at it now that there’s nothing but SUVs having a coupe with an extra door is really cool it wasn’t appreciated back then, because there was accord coups and even Camry coups. Now those are all gone no longer made.
@@thetechlibrarian I had an altima coupe once upon a time, went to an NC miata and often regret not going for the RX-8 in it's last facelift. Those coupe looks but with full back seats is truly now a commodity

From my perspective is accelerates and sounds like a 130 hp n/a honda civic.

I used to have one of these baby’s my first car I sometimes watch this video for memories. Also the check engine light on is a common thing for some of these cars, even if you fixed it.

nice 8 but sorry i always make sure my oil temp is at required temp before going over 3k rpm, rx8's are a beautifully balanced car, on my 2nd build 20k since and the warm up process is a game i play every time, love that sound bro,
ya i heard u really have to let them warm up and cool down, and redline it to clear carbon buildup, do you use additives when you fill up the gastank?
@@Rory695 yip sure do as racing 2 stroke just make sure u have cat delete or gut it to empty, the engine rebuilder kept my cat on but gutted it, 5000k oil changed or 6months did a radiator flush before xmas so have noticed temps are good now and fitted a switch to turn a fan on if I’m gonna push her on the track, absolutely love rotaries after owning a series 1 rx7 1979 when I was 18 was the best thing ever. But the rebuilder is the mechanic for the rally rx8 here in Nz klinky 20b pp and when I saw the mechanic I was hell yes I trust the rebuild. Like my mate said to me rotaries are like a high maintenance relationship ya gotta put the effort in 😂

Why you drive it like 13yr old in Forza... bruh drive it normally and stop that 7k rpm drop first gear from 50kmh to 20kmh. Drive it normal, some accelrations in highway etc roads. And thats it. Bruh

Blip the gas. Match revs to speed of input shaft in gearbox. The pedal got a little angle plate even to make heel toe go easier.
It took him like 3 minutes to stop driving on the side walk and find a proper road

I work at a Mechanic shop and soo many of these cars come in , ( Usually driven by old retired guys ) cause they dont ring out the RPMS ! High enough ! so the oil system wrecks

nice video, i always liked the sound of rotary. There's something that bugging in my mind when saw your video, did you warm up the engine first before you record the video? Because i always heard from someone that using rx7 you need to warm up the engine first before using it.

Every engine needs to warm up before pushing it to higher revs, at least if you want it to work longer.

That poor clutch! You're not supposed to let the engine return to almost idle before releasing the clutch downshifting. A little rev matching wouldn't hurt either. Not trying to be an azzhole but I've also never had to replace a clutch, at least in my own rig. On a positive note, literally, that thing sounded absolutely amazing going through the tunnel!! There's absolutely nothing that compares to the sound of a rotary engine in its upper room range. Nothing!

The RX8 is actually my dream car, I haven't got a driver's license yet (The profile pic is old af btw) or the money to afford it but just don't understand the hate towards it , like I've seen different car guys just saying that RX8 was a disappointment compared to the RX7 and stuff but I actually love the looks and the interior and its power and I think its a great car overall (IDK about its long-term problems but as an average enjoyer I love it)
Rx8 is a really good car, personally want one. The engines arn't very good. They'll need more work than its worth. Personaly I would get a diffrent car for your first, but have an RX8 as a weekend or project car
It's a car that you don't look at your wallet for sure but it's a real special car to drive and the sound is worth every penny i think😅👍
I’ve thought about buying an FC/FD RX7 and even an RX8 plenty of times. I just could not handle that motor, neither could my wallet. If I ended up buying one I would have to SR20 swap it or RB swap it. You couldn’t pay me to LS swap it.
